The ratio of 620ti box is shorter you can google it.... You have to ask yourself if you like highways or twisties / curves more. Highway is boring for me so I chosed 620 box, but if you are on the highway the engine rev more rpms of course. The car will definately accelerate better with 620ti box, but if you are going for higher power you should keep stock 220 box in my opinion.
Hi, yes I have opened the gearbox and had uprated bearings to steel caged and also I changed the ring around differential to send right speed to the speedo, but it´s long time ago so don´t remember exactly. Hope this helps.
@Zemjang are the originals bearings plastic or something i heard. As ive owned 216 coupe and i broke the bearings or somewhat when lost most of the gears (My fault bit rough with her) Ive now bought another one the 220 non turbo model and im thinking of uprating not changing the boxes but just improve on whats already fitted to the car as standard
@23chilled : Yes the original bearings are plastic caged. You have to take the old ones off and there should be some numbers on them. Than you can try to search the new ones - steel caged. Good luck
@Zemjang Hi Mate, I can speak from personal experience as I've done a lot of testing with different boxes. And although you might think that the slightly lower ratio Ti box would accelerate faster, it is infact the longer coupe box that equates to a faster acceleration time. If you race 2 identical 200s, one with a TI box and one wiht a coupe box. The Ti box accelerates no faster but it runs out of revs sooner and as you change gear, the coupe boxed car pulls ahead. I have tired this.
Don´t know how much bhp, but 220-230bhp maybe.... No troubles except the original gearbox with Torsen "A" which I broke so I bought 620ti box and changed every bearing in it for steel caged... I´m going for 3000€ for the car - I ´m from Czech republic btw.
i have my rover 400 Ti, is already running! was a trial period. exactly at 5000rpm 200 km/h with the 600 ti gear box :D

Hi
When you changed the gearbox, how diod you find the new ratio? Was the car better in your opinion or better with the original box?
I need to fix mine and am thinking if I should have my 220 box fixed or buy one from a 620ti, my concern is the shorter gear ratios in the 620ti.
Thanks
Jon. (This is for a 220 turbo by the way, not the video of the none turbo I have up)

Hi again.
Did you have to open the gearbox to change the the speedo drive so that your coupe gave the correct speed reading?
