I agree, Slang was different. I would much rather listen to High and Dry or Pyromania (I like the old school hard rock, it's the best) but Slang was neat. I didn't hate it at all. Now X, I basically hated.
@DefLeppard771 That wasn't tour, just one show, and she's always been a huge Def Leppard fan and when asked by an interviewer if she would do a crossroads, she said she would only do it with Def Leppard. Def Lepp got wind of it and decided to give it a go. Joe has had nothing but good things to say about her since, and that she's very talented and would work in studio with her anytime. They defend her against ppl that try to say crap and have really good chemistry.
@DefLeppard771 There's bonus interviews and such on the DVD and a few more extras on mtvmusic . com and they seem really cool with each other. In one of Taylor's many video blogs on her myspace she shows them going boating with Def Leppard, relaxing during the taping of the show I'm guessing. I dunno, but they seem really cool with her and enjoyed it, I don't see why people hate on Taylor. She's really down to earth. Seems like Pyromania is her fav. record too, she talked about it a lot.
@DefLeppVidz I realize what you are trying to say. i guess i'm jealous because i am a REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HUGE FAN of Def Leppard and I REALLY wanna meet them and I never really liked taylor and i literally dream about Def Leppard when i sleep and i just wish i could be up on the same stage as Def Leppard singing the chorus part of their songs and playing guitar with Phil and Viv. Who knows?
He made it sound like the hair in the 80's was a bad thing, the hair rocked. Music died in the early 90's but Def Leppard didn't... They still rock and people need to stop critisizing the Slang album, i think its a great album.
Def leppard is still live today and they still can rocks thousands of people around (oh no!!) America. I can't wait for the next album and (of course) the next world tour NOT ANOTHER AMERICAN TOUR!!! Old ages doesn't restrict them from rock'n roll. This is my favourite band beside Deep Purple!
i love their music. not their hair. even though their 80s hair was sexy, haha. i miss steve a lot and i wished they would've talked more about him on here, but alas.
i know. i jus think about it every day, you know. and sometimes when i watch videos from in the round, i forget that hes gone and jus watch him play, but when the music stops, it all comes back to me. and im sitting there thinkin, why did he have to die, you know.
To set the record straight here... combining painkillers and alchohol is considered by a medical examiner to be a drug overdose. It is common knowledge that he died from an overdose.
i remember them, and ummm it wasnt the hair i remember...I mean, would you look at these guys??? And you think its because of the hair that we remember them??? These are some of the most fantastic looking men in the world...Joe Elliott and the Boys can Still ROCK OUR ASSES OFF..dont believe me ? GO TO A CONCERT...FEEL THEIR MUSIC..and believe me, if you do go to a concert..you WILL feel their music...Hair my ass..JOE AND THE BOYS ROCK...Love you Boys..keep giving us what we want :)
"the hair you remember?" that's offensive. they should never have been lumped in with the "hair metal" bands. they looked different and they made far better music
It's the hair that you remember. Is he kidding. It was the rock and roll that keeps you going. Do these guys do their research before making a statement
I don't get the constant references to DL's "hair" - they never had big hair, at least not compared to Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, Poison, etc. They never had big hair - only long hair. Am I right?
You're totally right. I never saw Def Leppard as a hair band, most hair bands seemed to be 1 hit wonder whereas Def Leppard was the best thing to come out of the 80's music wise. They're still the best, and still as gorgeous as ever!
the 3 differences between def leppard and hairmetal
1.) music has more originality
2.) the music is more ambitious
3.) the music is of a higher quality
nothing against the so-called "hair bands". actually, i hate that label. those bands dont deserve being called that, but nevertheless, i rank the leps high above them.
**** they're married with kids!!

STEVE CLARK DID NOT DIE OF A DRUG OVERDOSE!! It was a mix of painkillers for an injury and a typical night's drinking (for an alcoholic...).
This is well-documented...sloppy research/script. Whatever.

I agree. They're not what I would call a "hair metal band", and I think Joe once mentioned that as well with disdain on one of the interviews.
Nope. If I was gonna remember this band, it would be because of their good looks and their great music!

You are absolutely right. Joe has made it plain he resents Def Lep being categorized as a "hair metal" band.

You are so right but they had "hot" hair. And we loved them for their sound and also for thier looks. Sounds shallow but they sold the whole package.
