This was the very first Level 42 instrumental I listened to, having bought my very 1st Level 42 album, "The Pursuit Of Accidents" on cassette(yes...I am that old!). I became forever hooked with this wonderful group. I'm 40 now and still play the CD version on full blast, doing my air bass!!
These guys were were my life in the eighties. See them whenever they tour and drive my wife up the wall at home and in the car with their music. GODS.
@MontagueWaldeck ... Wow. "decent" singer/song writer? They seemed (to me) to be writing songs that were in keeping with, and even exceeding, their time. And Mark's voice was f*cking great. Glad you saw them back in the day. You must be a straight-up 'jazz head', (especially if you feel this is "their best track") hence your narrow-minded critique.
I appreciate everything from Chopin to Bowie to In Flames to Muddy Waters to Spyro Gyra to Vivaldi to Level 42.. who moved me.
My fave L42 song of all time, in fact, this whole LP is my fave of theirs, used to play this track to death back in the day! Mark's bass on this is so damn good! Reminds of the summer of '83, year after it came out I think, great memories, thanks for posting, nice one!
That bass is the shiznite!

Why isn't there any good jazz funk/fusion music around today? Get fed up of all manufactured rubbish in the charts at the moment.

I love the sound of this Jaydee Bassguitar!
He now plays the Status Bass But its not the briliant sound that the Jaydee has!!
Very good music!

It was the theme to wild Britain back in the 80s. I only used to watch it to hear this.
