@Schumifreak9 but if schumacher is sposed to be the best driver out there how come he cant even get his Mercedes on the podium? Rosberg has made him look a fool this season :) its been great viewing. I know my facts, in my eyes he schumacher cheated his way to the 94 title, punted Damon off at end the last race and seem to fall in love with Hill again by deliberatly smashing into him. Senna was miles better even Mansell was, least they could hustle crap cars to the finish and on the podiums
@Schumifreak9 Also Mansell won in a crappy Ferrari when he was with them and that was when their car would often break and never finish a grand prix, Schumacher is not a patch on Mansell and Senna cos they actually fought hard for their titles, Schumi was gifted them championship, look at all the hoo har in 94 and 95 go look at the review of them seasons. He also hates losing as well and its funny to watch him lose his temper :D he's shit!
@Schumifreak9 yeah by cheating his way to the title, Benetton had a great car in 94 most of the top drivers could have won in that car, but to me Shitmacher liked to punt people off the track to get his own way, especially it seems in 1995 as well. Ferrari made their cars better, he just drove it again in my eyes anyone else could have won in it. If he is sposed to be a "world class driver" then he would be able to win in a so/so car, come on even Senna managed to get a podium in aTolman!
Watching Schumi crash always makes me laugh for some reason, just proves he aint all that! he got lucky that his ferrari didnt break down in like 3 seasons, and look at him now! in a so/so car and he cant even hustle that onto the podium! he is so over hyped he was practically gifted his championships by Bennetton and Ferrari
Nurburgring 1957. One of the best races EVER. Why?
A 46 year old Juan-Manuel Fangio driving a Maserati 250F (a car that had debuted in 1954 and was way past its best) was over a minute behind Hawthorn (the 1958 champion) and Collins (would be champion in '56 if he didn't valiantly hand over his car). Hawthorn was 27, Collins was 25. Both in new Ferraris. Fangio was 46.
Fangio broke the lap record on Nurburgring 9 times in the next 10 laps!! In the final corners he overtook them both and won.
We're talking about a 46 year old guy driving in the 1950's when racing was LETHAL and there was absolutely NO SAFETY. We're talking about the freakin' NURBURGRING, the most challenging circuit in the world. We're talking about a guy breaking the lap record 9 times in the final 10 laps, each time going FASTER.
In the accident ridden lethal 50's, a guy in his 40's dominated F1, against young guys in their 20's.
When Schumacher pulls a 1957 Nurburgring aged 46 I'll salute him.
Schumacher is, without question, the best F1 driver ever. The statistics say so. You can criticise him here and there for some of the things he did, but you can't take the achievements away from the man. He dominated F1 for 10 years solid and no-one could come close. Before you say silly things criticising him, take a good hard look at your own life - I doubt you will come within 1% of Schumacher's success. So stop being pathetic losers and salute the man for his greatness rather than criticise
he could be the best but it's contentious, stats don't tell the full story...
it is very possible that senna, clark or fangio were better...
schumacher is definitely top 3, but to say he is the best "without question" is ever so slightly narrow minded...
if we were to base out judgements purely on stats then coulthard would be better than gilles villeneuve, damon hill would be better than moss and button would be better than keke rosberg...
@MrFergburger Successful? yes. Best? No. If he was the best, why is he sitting on the grid behind Nico Rosberg more times this season than his "best F1 driver ever" title would lead you to believe? And after a move like he made on Barrichelo in Hungary, you may want to re-evaluate your position.
@jeremy7600: you know how old he is? and you know that he was, and thats where i TOTALLY agree with MrFergburger, the best pilot for 10 years? i mean...he is only driving again cause he misses it ;) there is no need to present how good he is ;) i think its just fun for him and mercedes lets him have this fun :)
@Fuselfluppe In more, when Schumacher beat decline Nelson Piquet (17 years older than Schumacher) "WOW, that's great !" but when Rosberg beat decline Schumacher (16 years older than Rosberg) "Schumacher is old".
Fangio was 40 when he won his 1'st title in 1951 and 46 when he won his 5'th in 1957. He beat guys in their 20's like Collins, Hawthorn, Moss, and plenty of others 20 years younger than him.
Jack Brabham won his last title aged 40 in 1966, and if not for a few mechanical failures would have won his 4'th in 1970 aged 44.
Stirling Moss was 18 years younger than Fangio in Mercedes in 1955.

@McLarenMercedes , Schumacher at 42 will never beat the 30 year old schumacher hes still verry good but not as good. As for back in the 1950s/ 60s the drivers wheren't that fit. Graham Hill smashed both his feet and was back in the car 5 weeks later. you have to also remember Mansell was in a top car not that he wasn't great.
@dave00075f1 lawl ^^ look what we got here. another wannabie, who think he knows everything huh? isnt funny, that EVERYONE who ever fought on the F1 for the Campionship thinks, Schumi is still fast and good as every youngster? only guys, who never drove a F1 car talks shit like you?
@McLarenMercedes well, but the F1 today is not the same F1 as 1950. more races, more work on the track and beside. today you have to do everyday workouts and other trainings, today you get some specialy food, not like 1950. today everything is much harder than 1950 and that is the reason why schumacher never will win his 8 title
@MrFergburger You can say the best F1 driver of his generation.
But F1 in the 50 and 60's was harder (no driving help, races much longer) and more, more, more dangerous ! Death was everywhere.
And about statistics, if you take percentage, Schumacher is not first for vic, podiums, pole positions... % Of course it's more easy to won 91 race in 250, when Fangio won "only" 24 but in 50 races !
@MrFergburger - "Schumacher is, without question, the best F1 driver ever. " Really? What about Senna? perhaps you should think before you type next time. Because Senna is 'questionably' better than Schumacher.
@jonahmoffatt - there's a difference between 'best driver ever' and 'best driver of this era/decade' or whatever. Perhaps 'MrFergburger' should have used the later, eh?
Unfortunately you conveniently FORGET the most importan statistic. That is counting the amount of wins, poles and fastest laps in comparison to how many races he competed in.
You are going to get FLAGGED for being highly subjective.
I guess you must count some pop artists as the most talented musicians ever due to the amount of records sold?
FYI Fangio was in his mid 40's when he beat guys in their 20's, Jack Brabham nearly won his 4'th title in 1970 aged 44.
The best F1 driver ever NEVER had a champion team mate,or even a driver which had won a single race BEFORE becoming his team mate
Here's something you fail to realize.Great men are judged by other great men.Ali had Foreman,Napoleon had Wellington,Beatles had the Rolling Stones,Senna had Prost (who was the most successful driver of all time when Senna became his team mate in 1988)
Schumacher had hand picked number two's, a luxury neither Senna nor Prost had.An Ecclestone product
It is a shame that Beautiful Schumi`s car developed a technical error and sent the Sexiest Man in all sports (and the most well endowed too) to the wall
The 248F1 at the start of 2006 is not a good car. It's slow. Laps before he lost it Schumi was the fastest man on the track, with an evidently slower car. What else if not skills and balls? I am totally calm when he lost it because I know he had only pushed too far with his hunger for victory. Justifiable mistake. Not to mention poor tyres as well. Bridgestone is nowhere near the performance of Michelin. Not until like US GP or so.
Much better than what Raikkonen did in Melbourne 2009.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yeh but u forget dat thur waz no tire diffrence wiv raikonen in 09 coz dur waz no other tire other than the bridgstone coz their iz no others then an same now so u cant compair the 2 so why bring it up.
schumacher crashed his fault cant go blaming others when its his fault guess you could say guy in front put him off lol stewards would give a 25 sec penalty and wot 4 lol
So I said Michael's accident is much more acceptable than Raikkonen's.
The focus is not on tyre war. Rather Michael, in an inferior car, with worse tyres, has been lapping faster than the Michelin guys. I remember him setting the fastest lap few laps before he crashed.
When Kimi crashed, also in an inferior car, there was no sign that Kimi is pushing as hard, slipping and sliding like Michael did.
That was the point. Kimi's simply a mistake. Michael's pushing over the limit.
now we gotta think also about that no tc and it was somehow slippyer curb than other times for kimi so its not that big mistake and why to compare 2 diffrent crashes both were mistakes but not like they could do something other way to evade it :P
@istoriposhivz Comparing Michael's 2006 Melbourne performance to Kimi's in 2009 has no sense at all. As much sense as comparing Kimi's 2007 performance to Michael's in 2006.
@KarpowSCX Well then please also compare the 248F1 and F2007's relative performance to the field at their respective Australian GPs. As I already explained in the first line, 248F1 was an underdog. F2007 is clearly the pace setter that race. Completely different scenarios we are talking about.
Need to apologize a bit here too because I shouldn't have talked about Kimi, who, in a clearly inferior F60, can do nothing but push like hell and into the wall. My bad on this point.
Yes, we talk about 2 mechanical problems of Schumi in the end of the season, but Alonso had 2 problems too (Hungary, Italy...). And Schumi loose 15 pts, Alonso 14 or 16 (Win or 2nd place in Hungary). For 13 pts late in Schumi in the end.
So, the difference for the title ? Errors of Schumacher and team. Australia, in qualif at Monaco (If we can say it's an error...) and Hungary, he should take dry tires.
yeah ok louiseGee you idiot. You admit that in 88 it was the best, in 90 the ferrari broke down more times than it was fast and in 91 mclaren was easily the best car...williams became the best in 92 thats when mansell dominated not 91.
Oops you wrote and i quote...."only a retarded''. Ironic isnt it that your so retarded you stuffed up calling me retarded. in ur profile you say your a goofy and humorous guy..yeah ha ha you goofy retard!
is a driver an idiot for pushing too hard and crashing? your the idiot. a really big one.
Both senna AND schummy will forever be F1 legends.
and to you shazmeister:
Schummy also didnt have the best car in 95(maybe best engine) when he became two time champion. And he achieved what he did cos of how great he was. Senna won all his championships in the best cars on the grid! Does that take anything away from him? Nope
In 1988 Senna had the best car but had to beat the current number one in the team, the great champion Alain Prost!
In 1990 Senna had a very good car, we could say Prost and Senna had the best cars, but Ron Dennis said himself that Senna was the main responsible for the championship achievement, as Prost's Ferrari was technologically more advanced. The semi-auto gear box was a huge advantage.
In 1991 only a retarded would say that McLaren was a better car...
cant believe how many idiots call schumacher names. sort it out guys. im no big fan of his, never really cheered for him, but i can fully acknowledge his incredible talent and success. he was one of the best ever, i rate others higher, but hes not a "dick" or a "cunt".
Rubens was quick on many occassions, but it was in his job description to be number 2, which is what he did. If you check through the records rubens still has alot of records from 2004 when the cars were fastest.
About massa? he just sucks. He only ever wins from pole and spins off when it is wet. He is over rated. Zsolt baumgartner was a better driver IMo.
great though schumacher was he never had to win titles against greats like Senna, Prost, Piquet. No know if is a big word but 'if' Senna hadn't crashed at Imola Schumacher wouldn't have won 7 titles. That and the fact i lost a lot of respect for him in jerez 97 when he tried to puch villneuve off.
totally agree, i dont know why people forget because hakkinen really did dominate in 98 & 99, mclarens reliability let him down a lot so his points and wins dont really reflect how well he did those years, and of course schumacher was out injured for most of 99 maybe thats why?
if thats your theory then that would make him like schumacher the only seasons schumacher won where his car wasnt lightyears ahead of the rest was 94 and 00. and no hakkinen is a great driver some of his qualifying performances were absolutly superb pulling laps out of the bag to grab pole, yes in 98 the mclaren was far better than the ferrari but he had some amazing drives at other times, schumacer said hakkinen was the only person he regarded as his rival and thats good enough for me!
Well when your car was a McLaren MP4-13-15, that bag must be pretty huge. And that doesn't explain why Schumacher still managed to get so many pole positions in 2000.
im not saying that schumacher is crap, overated or whatever, that would be stupid his results speak for themselves. however he wouldnt have achieved half of what he did in a different car. it was mainly reliability that let the mclarens down. i think hakkinen was past his best by the end of the 00 season, but he was by no means an overrated driver
to moguetricky-for three seasons Mc LarenMB was undoubtly the fastest in the field but not as relyable as Ferrari was.
Besides,Dennis'policy about free race between his drivers showed itself as a huge lacking when facing Ferrari strict control on
inside teammates rivarly.
This said,Schumacher was the best, hands down by then, but Hakk.wasn't overrated:above average at least. He was able to recover and take risks for years after a nearfatal crash, being usually faster than Coulthard.
Yeah, the crazy pole position in Imola 2000, and the overtaking maneuvre of the century in Spa in 2000.
Some chicken! (that was what Churchill said the the Canadian parliament in WW2 when the German high command said Britain would have their neck broken like a chicken).
But Alonso had failures at Monza and Hungary, so the common sense way to look at it is the way the drivers look at it-whoever makes the least mistakes usually wins when hte cars are closely matched, which is what happened here.
u've posted this same comment on other vids as well. This vid is about Michael u dumb prick, not Senna. U just posted this to create arguments. Get a life.
Dicks don't win 7 world titles. Dicks don't take teams from nothing to 5 times in a row chapions. Dicks wouldn't call other Dicks specially when they done more than you in there life.
Loved the way how Schumi always pushed that Ferrari until the end, always talking the corners on the limit

Much better than what Raikkonen did in Melbourne 2009.

yeh but u forget dat thur waz no tire diffrence wiv raikonen in 09 coz dur waz no other tire other than the bridgstone coz their iz no others then an same now so u cant compair the 2 so why bring it up.
schumacher crashed his fault cant go blaming others when its his fault guess you could say guy in front put him off lol stewards would give a 25 sec penalty and wot 4 lol
Waterfall64 2 years ago
So I said Michael's accident is much more acceptable than Raikkonen's.
The focus is not on tyre war. Rather Michael, in an inferior car, with worse tyres, has been lapping faster than the Michelin guys. I remember him setting the fastest lap few laps before he crashed.
When Kimi crashed, also in an inferior car, there was no sign that Kimi is pushing as hard, slipping and sliding like Michael did.
That was the point. Kimi's simply a mistake. Michael's pushing over the limit.
istoriposhivz 2 years ago 4
Yes I know.
My previous message was me messing around, I thought I had worded it sufficiently badly. Sorry.
Waterfall64 2 years ago 3
now we gotta think also about that no tc and it was somehow slippyer curb than other times for kimi so its not that big mistake and why to compare 2 diffrent crashes both were mistakes but not like they could do something other way to evade it :P
luputtaja 2 years ago 3
The whole package was not as good as Renault´s but still...
Michael used to be the man that rarely
overcooked situations like that.If he had a car capable for 4th place only,he usually settled down bringing the car home with points.
He could not do the job in 2006,making bad mistakes throughout the year. The fact that Raikkonen did worse in 2009 is not a good excuse.
Heakeedu 2 years ago 5
no it wasn't, it was very quick. it locked out the front row in bahrain just two rounds earlier and schumi won the next two races after this.
FormulaOneFan4Eva 1 year ago
@istoriposhivz Comparing Michael's 2006 Melbourne performance to Kimi's in 2009 has no sense at all. As much sense as comparing Kimi's 2007 performance to Michael's in 2006.
KarpowSCX 1 year ago
@KarpowSCX Well then please also compare the 248F1 and F2007's relative performance to the field at their respective Australian GPs. As I already explained in the first line, 248F1 was an underdog. F2007 is clearly the pace setter that race. Completely different scenarios we are talking about.
Need to apologize a bit here too because I shouldn't have talked about Kimi, who, in a clearly inferior F60, can do nothing but push like hell and into the wall. My bad on this point.

Remember that happening, Schuey could have taken the title in 2006 but all those little things added up.
callum122 3 years ago 4
Yes, we talk about 2 mechanical problems of Schumi in the end of the season, but Alonso had 2 problems too (Hungary, Italy...). And Schumi loose 15 pts, Alonso 14 or 16 (Win or 2nd place in Hungary). For 13 pts late in Schumi in the end.
So, the difference for the title ? Errors of Schumacher and team. Australia, in qualif at Monaco (If we can say it's an error...) and Hungary, he should take dry tires.
regismo 3 years ago 4
yeah ok louiseGee you idiot. You admit that in 88 it was the best, in 90 the ferrari broke down more times than it was fast and in 91 mclaren was easily the best car...williams became the best in 92 thats when mansell dominated not 91.
Oops you wrote and i quote...."only a retarded''. Ironic isnt it that your so retarded you stuffed up calling me retarded. in ur profile you say your a goofy and humorous guy..yeah ha ha you goofy retard!

senna1994imola:
is a driver an idiot for pushing too hard and crashing? your the idiot. a really big one.
Nope
JeanAlesi90 3 years ago
Oops!
In 1991 only a retarded would say that McLaren was a better car...

in my opinion that is exactly what makes it one of the best tracks of F1 to watch.
Besides the overtaking places.
Love this circuit! :D

cant believe how many idiots call schumacher names. sort it out guys. im no big fan of his, never really cheered for him, but i can fully acknowledge his incredible talent and success. he was one of the best ever, i rate others higher, but hes not a "dick" or a "cunt".

That and the fact i lost a lot of respect for him in jerez 97 when he tried to puch villneuve off.

totally agree, i dont know why people forget because hakkinen really did dominate in 98 & 99, mclarens reliability let him down a lot so his points and wins dont really reflect how well he did those years, and of course schumacher was out injured for most of 99 maybe thats why?
shazmeister2005 3 years ago
Hakkinen didn't dominate at all. It was his car which dominated.
Hakkinen is one of the more overrated drivers in F1 if you ask me.
moguetricky 3 years ago
if thats your theory then that would make him like schumacher the only seasons schumacher won where his car wasnt lightyears ahead of the rest was 94 and 00. and no hakkinen is a great driver some of his qualifying performances were absolutly superb pulling laps out of the bag to grab pole, yes in 98 the mclaren was far better than the ferrari but he had some amazing drives at other times, schumacer said hakkinen was the only person he regarded as his rival and thats good enough for me!
shazmeister2005 3 years ago 2
You forget 95, 2001 and 2003.
Well when your car was a McLaren MP4-13-15, that bag must be pretty huge. And that doesn't explain why Schumacher still managed to get so many pole positions in 2000.
moguetricky 3 years ago
im not saying that schumacher is crap, overated or whatever, that would be stupid his results speak for themselves. however he wouldnt have achieved half of what he did in a different car. it was mainly reliability that let the mclarens down. i think hakkinen was past his best by the end of the 00 season, but he was by no means an overrated driver
shazmeister2005 3 years ago
to moguetricky-for three seasons Mc LarenMB was undoubtly the fastest in the field but not as relyable as Ferrari was.
Besides,Dennis'policy about free race between his drivers showed itself as a huge lacking when facing Ferrari strict control on
inside teammates rivarly.
This said,Schumacher was the best, hands down by then, but Hakk.wasn't overrated:above average at least. He was able to recover and take risks for years after a nearfatal crash, being usually faster than Coulthard.
indigoblue555 3 years ago
@samsemtex hakkinen behaved like a chicken that's why he is underrated...it is a men's sport..if he wanted to make family he should stay at home

@xpandia
