I got myself a 1990 model Magna Elite, with the ECI Multi Astron II, it iis in fantastic condition, and wow, it has some power for an old top of the range shitta!
It will keep up with a lot of 4 Cylinder and 6 Cylinder Sedans, especially when you do the tuning on it!
my mate sold me one of these for 20 bux coz all 4 wheels on it were mine affter i taught him how to bag it up, it had 1 worling brake on it (the front left) i should up load the vids, did so many burn outseverywhere. i dont understand y ppl blow autos in these i couldnt break it till a blown front tyre tore out the whole wireing loom thro the front iner guard. couldnt even open the bonnet cos it tore the bonnet puller out th dash to. the more i c magnas the more i want another:)
The EFI motors from these things go heaps better in Scorpions........1100kg vs 1450kg might have something to do with that lol
Anyway, the EFI Astron is a great motor. Mine makes 120rwkw with a cam, exhaust, extractors and a Haltech ECU. I originally had the engine in a TP Executive, but it deserved a better platform so I put it in my '81 Scorpion :P
@jwebb2876 I have the 1989 TP Elite Sedan and it only weigh's 1200kg with all the power option's, towbar, Standard Exhaust, 16 inch alloys as well as karting the Elante' Body kit round aswell as non standard stuff (ie general stuff you'd carry in your car) compared to my old TP wagon which was 1300kg for an SE
I had a TP Magna Elite and it was the worst car I ever had. I went through 5 auto boxes in 2 months! The exhaust headers glowed red hot and you didnt even have to flog it and when the head went I took it to the wreckers and got $40
I disagree. I have a TP aswell. had a problem with the fuel filter and a sensor in the Carby but other than that its been fine. I dont thrash it though so maybe thats the difference.
Yeah but like you said you don't thrash it. My step dad had the car for 3 months and not a problem. But with me a gearbox only lasted 2 months max. I use to do like this bloke in the video and light it up with the handbrake on.

LOL, Magna's have always had a notorious reputation for being buckets of shit. They would've have been better if they were made in Japan or contained Mitsubishi-Japan sourced engines like the lancer.

That's the general opinion of the public, yes. Those who have actually driven and owned one however will say very differently.
Go the Astron Big-Block 4. Mine's still running after 20 years of continuous use and hasn't skipped a beat.
