  • I wanna deep freeze stuff and eat it!

  • did you know that kerosine is mixed with liquid nitrogen in a container and it creates a never ending refrigeration system... but if the container is to bust it could make a enormous explosion.

  • @chasebryson Lol I'll try tht som day

  • So what would happen I'd u put dry ice in liquid Nitrogen? U should make a vid at tht

  • @2000sirjack It's been done before by Jefferson Lab. /watch?v=ctPbhKldOgA

  • Wait, why doesn't the dry ice freeze the water? If it's so cold, wouldn't the water freeze?

  • @mmmchocolate12345678 It's probably because water is a great thermal conductor...for example if you put a piece of dry ice in a larger mass of water than the dry ice it won't freeze.

  • @mmmchocolate12345678 I think most of the coldness is carried away by the expanding gas that bubbles away out of the water. And since the water is never still due to the bubbling, freezing of the water never spreads.

  • could you use contained gas from the dry ice to power a turbine to generate electricity?

  • that was great s.s.s!!

  • i wonder what would happen is you put dry ice in liquid nitrogen? they r like the coolest things on the world ( i think )

  • 4:51 thus the boo bubble was born!

  • beast

  • he didn't smashed the lettuce into pieces = fail

  • @paramoRawr 1 nice grammer 2 are you blind?

  • did this guy ever go to science class? I never see him wearing gloves or an apron and rarely goggles and he just ate something at 2:17

  • where in world does he get so much Liquid nitrogen?!

  • As soon as you touch Liquid Nitrogen with you bare hands it instantly starts to boil and creates a thin barrier, thats why he can touch it briefly (under a sec) with out getting burned.

  • I always wondered what happened if you froze a soap bubble?

  • So he handles liquid nitrogen without gloves, but he handles dry ice with gloves? Doesn't he realize that liquid nitrogen is over 100 degrees colder than dry ice?

  • @BRyanS72 your hands are so much warmer than the liquid nitrogen it instantly turns into a gas, insulating your hands from the liquid. B/c the dry ice isn't as cold it wont INSTANTLY turn into gas. it will wait for a fraction of a second. so in a way liquid nitrogen is almost safer. but not really

  • @BRyanS72 Liquid nitrogen is actually so cold that it boils at room temperature, like if you put a drop of water on a super hot pan. The liquid instantly turns to steam and actually keeps it from touching the surface by hovering (for a few seconds) There is even a man on youtube that putsliquid nitrogen in his mouth without it hurting him whatsoever.

  • hi

  • Comment removed

  • @BRyanS72 He never actually touches the liquid nitrogen...But he does touch the dry ice. Glove wouldn't help him much if he touched liquid nitrogen. Thumbs up so everyone knows(:

  • did anyone hear thunders storms

  • did anyone hear thunders

  • onion for a salad put it in a bag then hit so you dont make a mess

  • 3:55 Perpetual motion anyone?

  • i saw a person at the icecream shop holding the dry ice with her HANDS

    (without gloves)

  • @lezahbeamz you can it just burns if you hold it too long

i know burn its cold but trust me my friends dad is a scientist u can hold it for a couple of seconds

if you keep bouncing it around it doesn't hurt

  • OKAY I AM SOOOOOO SORRY STEVE BUT THE StRING OF COMMENTS BY NIKOLAY (or someone like that i dont remember) WAS ME SOMEONE FORGOT TO SIGN OUT ON MY LAPTOP I AM so SORRY

  • OKAY I AM SOOOOOO SORRY STEVE BUT THE StRING OF COMMENTS BY NIKOLAY WAS ME SOMEONE FORGOT TO SIGN OUT ON MY LAPTOP I AM so SORRY

  • Dear Steve Spangler, My dad told me not to do the "Exfoliant" bit from your videos because the dry ice may chill nitrogen to get it into a liquid state and it might pour on my face but I believe he is just fooling with me because dry ice is about 100 degree difference between the two (Celsius of course) and also from your burning money video I am aware that the water will only nullify the cold temperature too well so i believe that the only thing I have to worry about is dry ice on my face

  • Why does no one use solid hydrogen

  • Dear Mr.Spangler, Can you PPLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE mix gasoline & liquid nitro and light it up if posible?

  • 3:09 wow! looks like... well i dont know

  • If you touch liquid nitrogen it doesn't harm you, unless you leave it on there for more than a second.

  • 0:52 the good stuff

  • 5 people drank it

  • chuck norris drinks this for breakfast

  • funy

  • I wonder if dry ice can be used to create technology for hover vehicles one day. I wonder how that would work...

  • SUB ZERO WINS

    FATALITY

  • You can eat it?! [onion] It's floating in mid air!!! [square thing] One question, well two, but is water hotter than dry ice or warmer? And how did the square flat in mid air?

  • @emilya321cprocks It's a super magnet.

  • the perfect way to slice an onion lol

  • My dad is a chemist and he'll do stuff like this for my class at school, but I wanna have sone of that freeze magnet stuff so I can make other metal objects float

  • Ohhh shoot its steve the best chemist in the world :D

  • @WpA09 I would recommend putting your hand in warm water before doing it, because it is the water that will give off its heat, as opposed to your hand.

  • i love how it sounds like glass too

  • whooo!!!

  • whoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

  • can you touch the liquid nitrogen?

  • @MathiasKippen yes you can. it does an effect called the leidenfrost effect around your hand which protects you FOR A SHORT TIME. if you try dont do it for too long cause you might smash your hand into shrapnel.

  • What would happen if you put dry ice in liquid nitrogen..

  • @RinAikou the dry ice witch is hotter than the liquid nitrogen cools down and becomes super dry ice witch is if its cooled long enough becomes as cold as the dry ice

hoped that answered you question :-)

  • How do they condense nitrogen into liquid nitrogen?

  • i wonder what would happen if you put glass in liqued nitrogen

  • @chasebryson it would shadder

  • @chasebryson nothing would happen, for glass is already a liquid so nothing can happen

  • @couchpatatoe234 glass is a solid notliquid

  • @couchpatatoe234 Glass is a solid....

  • @couchpatatoe234 glass isn't a liquid... erm its a solid lol......

  • @Kiddolioable Glass is actually a liquid, it just takes a few decades to resemble one

  • @chasebryson

probably just crack immediately from the sudden change in temperature

  • @chasebryson

Glass in liquid nitrogen doesn't do much. But if you put solder into liquid nitrogen, it gets very springy and flexible!

  • @chasebryson Chuck norris was born

  • @chasebryson- what do you think those glass beakers are....

  • @chasebryson it would crack alot

  • @icup728 But then if you think about it. The beaker is made of glass.

  • @chasebryson nothing interesting, the glass will get cold or shatter depending on the type of glass

  • @chasebryson It would most likely crack.

  • @chasebryson It would simply be easily shattered.

  • wat if at 3:04. oops! i spilled it all over myself!!!

  • @MrCouchpotato93 then u going t die

  • @MrCouchpotato93 The Leidenfrost Effect would probably take effect.

  • @MrCouchpotato93 you will be the new subzero

  • @MrCouchpotato93 cryogenic storage

  • @MrCouchpotato93 nothing would happen because the nitrogen is so cold it boils into a gas before it would even touch you

  • @BurntOstrich That's not true at all. Liquid Nitrogen does boil away, but were it to be sloshed upon you, it could do some serious damage.

  • @KewneRain super painful. i had a wart on my finger and they had to freeze it with liquid nitrogen (not the stuff in the can at the doctors office with a q tip looking thing on the end) straight out of a bottle. because there are so many nerve endings in fingers it was EXTREMELY painful

  • oh my god the flower crumbling like ash is insane

  • if you put the dry ice in a cup of water, in no time there will be ice form around the dry ice and then there will be very less so call smoke thing

  • were can i get liquid nitrogen

  • @katennn888 at the grocery store

  • Why isn't he wearing gloves?

  • @NicholasCrensen because if you touch dry ice for more than a few secs, it will cause frostbite

  • @NicholasCrensen It isnt that dangerous. I saw some experiment in youtube , they dipper their hands on liquid nitrogen , nothing happened.

  • @NicholasCrensen because steve spangler is a robot!!! OF COURSE!

  • WOW EXACTALY 500TH VIEW HES SOO AWSOME

  • sweeeeeet

  • God i love you, your amazing :)

  • awesome steve! i saw this! keep up the awesome work dude!

  • whats it called when they deep freeze ppl and do u know of any vids of it?

  • It's called cryonics.

And I don't know of any videos; it's still an experimental procedure (at least for humans).

  • never seen this episode before

    cool!

  • That looked so fun! :D

  • thats awsome

  • yea this show kicks ass

  • Awesome! Gratz Steve!

  • coolio =)

  • sweet.

  • cool :)
