Hard to forget this match, Tsonga looked invincible that night and Nadal seemed so helpless. For a guy with such raw talent, Tsonga should take tennis more seriously. He has the talent to win at least a few Grand Slams.
tsonga was unstopable in this match , he doesn't usually do these kind of shot like the perfect volleys and he use to do more mistakes with his backhand , but in this match he did all right
@44foolek Si Tsonga a battu nada laux AEGON London Championships (Queens) 2011 sur le score de 6/7 6/4 6/1, ainsi qu'aux masters series de Londre en 2011 sur le score de 7/6 4/6 6/3.
People have always come up with excuses why he or her or them haven´t won a slam. Injuries, atittude, nail ache, hair ache and whatever they want to say. The truth is, he isn´t that good when it comes to the moment of truth. And... hate his guts and that arrogant look. I-m even glad he hasn´t won shit!
This match was not luck it was a display of a true champion by Tsonga but he has been unable to maintain this level because he's been plagued by injuries. It is unfortunate because the guy has so much talent and athletic ability but one day he will win a grand slam.
Yes, He did a great match, ok. But all this for what? Loosing the Final? There is something I don't understand about the great joy and keen interest this victory created... It looks like we're fascinated because a french beats Nadal. Only one thing sure: Tsonga has already played the best match of his career, don't expect another one. Because every time he's making something special, he begin to act and show off and loose the match miserably...
@iloveairfrance Where have you been the months XD Tsonga has beaten Federer twice, once at a masters and once at Wimbledon. He consistently beats top guys and is a top 10/top5 player for sure. He made the year end finals for the first time this year. I think the best in his career is yet to come.
He was a huge upset in this and that's why people were excited. In France, people think maybe he could win a slam. That's why.
i remember this match. nadal said tsonga was lucky... completly wrong: tsonga played at a level never reached before. He was the perfect morphing of sampras, agassi and safin + his "boxer" behaviour.
Shame he had some back injuries which didn't allow to perform as well in these last years. He has just won federer in wimbledon, he may does his come-back!
Exactly. 'Nothing lucky about that match. He played about as perfect a game as possible against Nadal and picked him apart in almost every way. It's good to see him back into the semis of a slam event again. I think style wise Djokovic may be his biggest test from here on out. I hope he can pull the upset, but even if he doesn't it should be a great match.
I remember staying up till like 4am watching this match. Never ive seen Rafa get dominated like this before. I instantly became on fan of Jo Willy. I miss this old Tsonga
As fantasically as Tsonga hit the bal in this match I think that what he did best was move his feet and get himself in an offensive position. If you watch how aggressively and quickly he moves in this match compared to others you'll see a big difference. That's what allowed him to win against Nadal. That and being possessed by God.
I LOVE tsongas aura!! its a competetive sport so lets see some emotion!!! hate it when players dont show emotion - and ppl think it is showing respect - well: ITS BORING!! show some emotion good dammit!! stonefaces are boring!!
@nimaMaestro so? strange thing to point out... u know what? federer is better too... and djokovic ! and all the other players in the top of the rankings!
Stop judging him, please. You really don't know him so who are you to criticize ? He's not "this air of how good i am". It's probably the best day in his carreer and he has the impression that nobody can beat him, it's a wonderful sensation. I think it's normal he's enjoying the match. What 'd you think if you were at the point of beating Rafa Nadal? Wouldn't you be proud of yourself ? I would. And remember, "la tchatche" is part of the game as we say in French ;)

I like Tsonga because he looks like a boxer, and plays tennis. Also, he has has a hyphenated first name, which is always cool, and a badass last name.
I can´t stand his attitude. He has this air of how good I am.... hate when he does that. Im glad he has never been one of the three best. Arrogant asshole!

Nadal got owned in this match, no doubt. But 4:20 is an example of his athleticism. The man FELL DOWN, lost his racket, picked it up, got back up, sprinted, and still almost made a play on that volley. Are you kidding me?! Sheesh.
A RIGHT-HANDED PLAYER WITH A SOLID BACKHAND CAN FRONT NADAL'S FOREHAND, AND DO MANY WIN POINTS TO PLAY DIAGONAL IF NADAL LET HIS SIDE FOREHAND WIDE OPEN.....BUT NADAL CAN'T DO THE SAME, BECAUSE HE'S GOT A POOR BACKHAND, HE PLAY 80/100 HIS BACKHAND DIGONAL TO RETURN, BECAUSE IS MOST EASY AND HE CAN PLAY STRONG, NADAL KNOW IT, AND HE REALY GO ON HIS BACKHAND TO PROTECT. BUT PLAYERS LIKE DAVYDENKO PLAY UNPREDICTABLE ON HIS BOTH SIDES, SO NADAL CAN'T EMPLOI HIS TACTICAL AND LOSE...................
Tsonga is one of the best talents on the tour. I mean, who really takes Nadal out in straight sets at a grand slam? Unfortunately, Tsonga is too brittle.
warning!!!!! evrywhere he go, nada will place his finger in the ....shole kakakakaka
Murray or nalbandian beat him like a bitch, because they dont return the ball where nada wait (on his backhand) and because simply they have the forehand and backhand stronger than nada!!!!!!! Federer is maestro, but he dont make a tactics like that to beat nada, he always make effort to play with his forehand on the nada forehand. nada run well, if they dont play varied, tis difficult to beat him
The sore loser Nadal insult Tsonga after his lost, just google it, tsonga apparently didn' t deserved it, we french remember his quote. After his french open loose, he said it was an accident, and his crush against Yousny: he was tired, and murray AO2010: he was injured, same against delpotro USO,& he was having perso problem at wimbledon 2009, like he is the only one again, poor idiot, learn to respect the rules and we talk idiot
He played like pete sampras in this match. I mean, search for pete and andre on youtube and watch the highlights and compare it to this one. Tsonga was keeping the points shot and playing a serious game similar to Pete sampras. I hope he looks at this video and tries to play this kind of tennis.
Hard to forget this match, Tsonga looked invincible that night and Nadal seemed so helpless. For a guy with such raw talent, Tsonga should take tennis more seriously. He has the talent to win at least a few Grand Slams.

Tsonga just won, because he was using a K-Blade 98! If he didn't use that racquet, with nice control, he wouldn't won...
But with the AeroPro Drive (that he use it now) he would win more easily!
I like both players

In this match Tsonga showed us how easy tennis is.
flobok 1 year ago 2

After his french open loose, he said it was an accident, and his crush against Yousny: he was tired, and murray AO2010: he was injured, same against delpotro USO,& he was having perso problem at wimbledon 2009, like he is the only one again, poor idiot, learn to respect the rules and we talk idiot

bouzponk 1 year ago
cosmojairzinho14 1 year ago
bouzponk 1 year ago
cosmojairzinho14 1 year ago
@cosmojairzinho14
STOP.
bouzponk 1 year ago
cosmojairzinho14 1 year ago
@cosmojairzinho14
Tsonga à Gagner, C'est Bien.
bouzponk 1 year ago
@cosmojairzinho14
bouzponk 1 year ago
And after that, Tsonga never played better than this... Too bad.

He played like pete sampras in this match. I mean, search for pete and andre on youtube and watch the highlights and compare it to this one. Tsonga was keeping the points shot and playing a serious game similar to Pete sampras. I hope he looks at this video and tries to play this kind of tennis.
