The data plan on these phones are way too expensive not to mention smartphones on the verizon network don't run as well as other service providers. I got flipphones for all of my kids on Straight Talk's unlimited plan and they absolute love it (which keeps me happy). The price is super cheap and the service is extremely flexible so I can switch from one plan to another on a monthly basis.
You might be pleased and jubilant now, but wait until you see your first and second bill. Verizon is one of the most money grubbing companies on this planet! The only benefits will be the cash you put into their pockets! You wait and see!

hay soldier i was going to tell you thats not true apple has a contract till 2012 with at&t and i have a friend that works with at&t there reason they highered the ETF is because people were buying the new iphones for $200 opening a new line then canceling the service for the $100 whatever and then selling there iphones full price so to avoid this they highered the ETF so people would stop doing this :D

With AT&T's new data plans. All the casual phone users who just wan't an iPod Touch as a phone (myself included) will go straight to AT&T. My phone on Verizon requires a $10/25MB data package. For $5 more, I could have an iPhone and 200MB package. For most heavy users who frequently use Youtube and websites like that, Verizon would be the way to go. For people who are all about using the iPhone as an iPod Touch and a phone, get AT&T, slower 3G doesn't matter when you don't use it.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure AT&T raised the ETF because of congress passing the jailbreak law stating that if you have a iPhone you can jailbreak it to use it on different networks but since only AT&T and t mobile are gsm network I wouldn't even bother.

yeah verizon, you may have to spend alittle more money.. But the services is so much better then at@t... I had at@t ... I'm glad i went to verizon...I can't wait for the iphone to come to verizon...they iphone is the one thing that keep at@t head above water... Once they lose the iphone to verizon it's going to be hard for them to keep up.

hay soldier i was going to tell you thats not true apple has a contract till 2012 with at&t and i have a friend that works with at&t there reason they highered the ETF is because people were buying the new iphones for $200 opening a new line then canceling the service for the $100 whatever and then selling there iphones full price so to avoid this they highered the ETF so people would stop doing this :D

AT&T is greedy for money, they know soon as Apple leaves AT&T they will be done. Verizon is trying to monopolize the U.S. cell phone industry, and AT&T just want there piece of the pie before this happens.

I talked to a Verizon worker and she said that the iPhone WILL be coming to Verizon in Winter 2010, around the time my contract with Verizon expires. I currently have the LG Dare and plan to trade it for a Verizon iPhone when it's time to renew for us.

@TheAvmeister true but would you rather have an iphone droid or microsoft 7 phone if you havent checked that out you should. but my contract ends in august and i just want to know of a good phone that lets me update youtube/facebook and has good recording and sound quality, my lg dare is terrible with recording sound quality i just want something like my old phone that can hold the sound of live bands playing and what not.

@LiquidMitchell I personally hate Microsoft mobile, its just as complex as it's desktop counterpart, who needs to make files the can't put anything into on a phone anyway? But plenty of phones support Facebook, if you want good recording quality and YouTube uploading you need to go high-end though

With AT&T's new data plans. All the casual phone users who just wan't an iPod Touch as a phone (myself included) will go straight to AT&T. My phone on Verizon requires a $10/25MB data package. For $5 more, I could have an iPhone and 200MB package. For most heavy users who frequently use Youtube and websites like that, Verizon would be the way to go. For people who are all about using the iPhone as an iPod Touch and a phone, get AT&T, slower 3G doesn't matter when you don't use it.
