Supposedly the basics of this story actually happened to a minister back in the 1930's. The minister was interviewed by a paranormal investigator about the incident years later, and much of what he said is repeated in this story. (There's a short film about the haunting called "The Hopewell Haunting" floating around on youtube, and it's worth looking at.)
