However, Job For a Cowboy is a band full of talented musicians who have pretty original stuff. And I agree almost all metalcore riffs sound the same.. but deathcore has quite a bit of variety.
@CyborgEugenics It definitely depends on who you listen to of course. Such bands as The Contortionist, Veil of Maya, The Faceless, and Beneath the Massacre are in no way monotonous... And there are more things to music than melody which deathcore employs. Most of the appeal of deathcore music is in the use of rhythm in unique ways. A good breakdown trips you up the first time you listen to it... or it's just heavy as fuck and appeals to people who just enjoy that.
I love this video. My only problem is that you're asking a little much of the drummer and guitarist. The guitarist only needs to know how to do a palm mute and chug a string in G#1, and the drummer only needs to be able to hit the ride cymbal.

@EverxOpeningxFlower I don't think Psychostick (metalcore band) wants to be brutal; it seems they want to be random and funny with their lyrics. You should check them out sometime. I recommend anything from "We Couldn't Think Of a Title!" or "Sandwich".

@CyborgEugenics They're my favorite band; I think Threat Signal, Chimaira, STEMM, Converge, Silent Civilian, Shai Hulud, God Forbid, and Demon Hunter are pretty close to them (diversity, originality, non-generic lyrics, members actually look like dudes, etc.).

Hehe, I love all the stereotypes about deathcore and the like. If you listen to something like Bring me the Horizon, of course it'll sound generic and shitty. thats how the scene faggots like it. Yet if you listen to some more progressive -core, IE: Born of Osiris or Between the Buried and Me, you'd realize that, if you delve deep enough into anything, you can usually find some good music in the process.

Haha this video was really funny in parts and really pissed me off in other parts. Honestly, the guys in the pictures did mostly dress like douche bags (not that it should matter) but it is very true that most deathcore/metalcore fans hate people who dress weird or have emo hair or whatever. However, Job For a Cowboy is a band full of talented musicians who have pretty original stuff. And I agree almost all metalcore riffs sound the same.. but deathcore has quite a bit of variety.

@CyborgEugenics It definitely depends on who you listen to of course. Such bands as The Contortionist, Veil of Maya, The Faceless, and Beneath the Massacre are in no way monotonous... And there are more things to music than melody which deathcore employs. Most of the appeal of deathcore music is in the use of rhythm in unique ways. A good breakdown trips you up the first time you listen to it... or it's just heavy as fuck and appeals to people who just enjoy that.

I love this video. My only problem is that you're asking a little much of the drummer and guitarist. The guitarist only needs to know how to do a palm mute and chug a string in G#1, and the drummer only needs to be able to hit the ride cymbal.
