  • why dont you see anyone walking around the streets. because its too damned cold. give me the barrier reef anyday

  • @dunbogan1

It was early in the morning (7.30 am) but do you live in Foroyar? and you don't like it? ok. make a deal with me, you come here in Italy and i come to the Faroe islands....:)

  • @dunbogan1 It's never cold. The Faroe Islands is one of the warmest countries in Europe in winter. Australian summers are unpleasantly hot.

  • @allfantasticimages never cold. are u kidding. july and august average 11 deg celsius. the other months from 9 down to 3 average. not cold!!. all i said was it looks a nice place but i could not live where the winter is year round with no summer.. i like where i am. shorts and t shirt all year round. walk on the beach, rarely extreme hot. winter is 18 deg celsius ave. summer is 26 deg ave.

  • @dunbogan1 26 is far too hot for me. The Faroe Islands have perfect temperatures all year round.

  • What is the price o fuel there?

  • @RaoulEmilian

i don't know. I'm italian and travelled to Foroyar in 2006. Let's wait for a faroese friend give us the answer....

  • Wow it looks lovely, I wish someday I'll visit there.... long trip for an Argentinean ;)

  • @regaliamarta

No trip is too long my friend; saluti desde Italia

  • i met 2 girls from the faroes in vegas they were so nice anyways

    this is beautiful!

  • suðuroy! rule! :3

  • mi piaceva di più quello coi pecuri

  • i often wonder how the faroe islands look like ... now i know thanks

  • Driving a Polo!

  • @trpicalviking

    Right, mate!

  • Ghost town! Last time I was there, there were people. Must've been football on the telly.

  • hehe 0:05 i live right next to there!!

  • @njaln

Well, in my next trip to Føroyar i'll ring your bell, with a present from Italy xD

    Seriously, i love your country......

  • wow...davvero bella, come città. Ma come mai non c'era quasi nessuno, in giro, a quell'ora?

  • Erano le 7 circa del mattino; considera che Torshavn è la capitale delle isole Faroe ma è in fondo un paese, avendo solo 15.000 abitanti

  • i LOVE torshavn

    greetings from Denmark, Kolding.

  • @wiljn

Thank you; when i travel to Faroe island i leave from Billund, Denmark....a lovely place (Legoland :))

    Greetings from Italy

  • When did u shoot this? and where is everybody? D;

    i live in this town...

  • @AnimalLover8520

It was August 2006, 7.00 Am

I also love your town and Faroe Islands

  • hahaha they have all been abducted by aliens lol

  • The one thing that struck me about this place is how clean it is. Here in UK we have people called "Litter Bugs" They throw down litter all over the place without any thought for others let alone the landscape....I watch people do it outside MacDonalds and if you say anything they just give you a mouthful of abuse...

  • @jillh10

Maybe it's because there are no Mac Donaldìs in Faroe Islands :)

  • lol :D at 1:43 ypure driving by my fathers house, and his lovely Audi A6 ^^

  • Actually I think McDonalds should be closed down

  • Its a beautiful place i loved this video

  • After watching it a second time, NOW I know why Torshavn is beautiful. No chain stores, no shopping malls, none of the soul-destroying suburban blight that is common in the U.S.A.

  • Right mate; Torshavn is really beautiful

  • There are malls. Just much smaller than in U.S.A.

  • @InfiniteMushroom there are shopping centeres (malls).

  • @turbofritz2 Torshavn may have shopping malls but, I'll wager they are nothing like the capitalist acne boils that pockmark the U.S. Most have active walrus colonies, especially in the summer. The dangerous shopping season, when the females fight with one another for bargains, is always the month before Christmas. The birthday of Santa Clause, who is the Eldest of the Archangels who serve Edward Louis Bernays. The Saviors of American Suburbia and the Idols that protect it.

  • Thanks for the ride, mate. Where is everybody? I guess this must be very early in the morning.

  • its a ghost town! Where are the people? In Valhala mayby?

  • @mirmidonas75 it's Sunday so not many ppl out

  • This place is wonderful O.O I wanna go there someday... so I'll believe that it's real!! =)

  • I Like to observe rules :)

  • You used your turn signal to pull into a parking space . There was no one else on the road, why use the turn signal at all ? I live in Florida and this looks opposite of Florida . Pretty place though.

  • talk about splitting hairs

  • It looks soooooooo amazing...

  • I think I've found someone who loves Faroe just as much as me!!.

Thank you for the great videos.

It brings back so many memories for me because now it is not so easy for me to get there:(

  • Looks beautiful!

  • It is , believe me. out of the crowd in the beautiful Torshavn

p.s. it is a good name for the town.....the harbour for a God. :)

  • Copenhagen is better :D

    Denmark my home <3

  • No doubt about it, but i prefer remote and quite places, like Faroe Islands and Greenland :D

  • I agree. Copenhagen is a nice place, but just because a place is streaming with shops, bars and restaurants, it's like about a 100 other cities. Tórshavn looks totally unique. I just hope it never becomes too popular with the tourists, as it would spoil the magic!

  • xD: I hope the same....

  • Copenhagen is dirty compared to Tórshavn and otherwise has lots of useless luxuary shops and french cafés. And lots of bums living there.

In Faroe Islands most of us live in our own houses and have access to the ocean and the mountains. Like the norwegian song by edvard grieg says:

"Mellom bakkar og berg ut med havet"

  • No ok. copenhagen is ok. But i like Torshavn and klaksvik way better.

  • Klaksvík sucks :)

  • I am not in the mood to argure localy :) it´s us Faroese vs. rest of the world now :)

  • "Former sworn enemies, now fighting together! Unimaginable cultural differences put aside to focus on the new threat - THE WORLD!"

LOL how does that sound? hehe

  • Well it´s not realy a treat and not a war!! just a competition. And Faroe Islands is better than for example Denmark in most ways and i mean that seriously. And i think all of Faroe Islands is better :)

    We´re supposed to be united.

We have more freedome and better nature plus a good living standard.

I don´t envy copenhagen in any way. Do you?

  • nah... but it's not really comparable. Copenhagen=largest city in scandinavia versus Faroe Islands=48000+ souls

But I like both. In fact I like Jylland very much!

  • Local fighting between fellow Faroese is just foolish and pointless.

  • I agree...

  • I was just messing with you with that "Klaksívk sucks" thing :)

  • But yeah it sounded great :)

From the Scandinavia came a people that navigated through wind and rough sea.

Between mountains through fjord, bravery and strength and great manhood manifested our nation.

From akraberg to the south to the Enniberg in the north came a people embedded in steel.

  • LOL reminds me of Manowar hehe

  • @xRalle3 Copenhagen? LOL

Copenhagen is like USSR with appartment blocks and collective public transport.

Torshavn is more cleane, people live more free and happy in own houses and have own cars - And we have great nature and mountains.

  • Don't let this fool you. No tourists are there and its cold and nobody is in outside walking in the city. Your all alone

  • it's 7.00 in the morning;

The beauty of this place is that are no tourists here.

If i want to meet tourists i'd travel to Ibiza, not to Torshavn

  • is very beautiful there:X

    i wish i go there....
