  • The foredeck of my sloop, a glass of La Crema pinot noir, the sun setting in a golden sky, on my mooring in Cat Harbor and Stan Getz.....doe not get any better!!!

  • Put one of the greatest sax players with one of the greatest songs and you have instant magic. Wish I could play like this, well me and every other 'phonist

  • Oh yeah! That's the stuff.

  • This play is contained in the album ,

stan getz ,bob blookmyer and friends.

Drummer is elvin jones,I forget other member,

    sorry.

Expect this play, other plays in the CD is not good.

    So, I sold this CD.

  • Try searching rainymood on youtube, and playing it simultaneously with this. The effect is pretty cool imo.

  • And 'since 1957 that I listen to and follow alis Getz The Sound, I would recognize him among a thousand a unique style and sweet and still no one has

A sorclassato. The best for me in the tenor sax, is sound in his soul and heart.

  • 4:27 where can I get this pic?

  • @Supremee022 I got the pic off some random sites off google but i still have them with me if you want. Cant really assure you about copyright infringements though.

  • Stan Getz, my favourite sax player and owner of the greatest tone of them all. 'The Voice' will never stop gracing my stereo.Love this.

  • Stan Getz actually shows all beauty sax's timbre) Thanks.

  • This people really need to read Julio Cortázar. That's poetic.

  • I have already owned this CD "Bob Brookmyer and friends", but I'm sorry to tell you that the song you posted are not from this album exactly. It's played by both of Getz and Chet, and until now I'm also not very sure which album has this song inside?

  • I have goosepimples... Pure class!

  • ... and that is why I play jazz

  • I absolutely love this song, Mr. Getz & this video. I try to own everything he has ever made. Thanks for sharing this. :-)

  • @Nardog1 You're absolutely welcome. Its' great to have connoisseur of good music on this page.

  • since a short time iam listening to Jazz, and i just cant get enough of it anymore..

  • "Bob Brookmeyer And Friends"(Columbia CS-9037)s

    MISTY(Johnny Burke-Erroll Garner)5:16 (NY/May 27,1964)

Bob Brookmeyer (v.tb), Stan Getz (ts), Gary Burton (vibes), Herbie Hancock (piano), Ron Carter (bass), Elvin Jones (drums).

  • the saxophone... the ultimate aphrodisiac

  • CANT GET ANY SMOOOOOOOTHER....!!

  • stan getz por mucho el mejor saxsofon tenor del siglo xx hermosa cancion , exelente interpretacion.........ssaludos a todos los amantes de la buena musica como el jazz

  • AH so smooth & relaxing, my favorite version

  • At one step to infinity.........

  • Stan Getz is amazing!

  • This is fab, thanks for posting this, I wasn't aware till now that this track existed.

  • Stan & bobby..very nice match

  • Hello !! (((((( I like your song !! Thanks for sharing

  • Please check my Dad out! He plays Misty on his B3 PLEASE!!! Look up: HERBIETHEBARBER plays MISTY

Please rate! I know it's not comparable to this... but he's always loved Misty.. and so have I. He puts his own twist on it... as all great Jazz musicians...

  • I like the fact that there's a picture of everyone but Stan Getz in those slides.

  • foot message.

  • fabulosa cancion y soberbiA INTERPRETACION

  • I don't know half of the guys pictured here! What's more interesting is that Getz and Brookmeyer are not pictured at all. I got my first saxophone from Stan Getz! He gave it to my father for me but then when Buffet found out that Getz wasn't playing (and endorsing) it, my father had to go pay for it.

  • @TheJazzydrummer What's even more interesting than the fact that Stan Getz and Bob Brookmeyer not being pictured here is the pointless boast of yours. We'd rather that you talk about the music you heard here instead of telling us how many Jazz players you know and who gave you your Sax.

  • @rogeredtabbit it's alright isn't it. Doesn't matter whether it's true or not but if I get a sax from Stan Getz himself I would treasure it, tell it's tale to the world and play it with pride :) God I love Jazz more and more. It just never dies.

  • @vyzel I wouldnt mind the tale of the saxophone really, its just the comment that it started with about how he doesnt know half the guys there. When i put this video up, i didnt know the album and it just said 'Misty' by Stan Getz with some random Jazz pics. But with the constant requests to know which album this was, i changed the info on the video. And now because of that i've been putting up with a lot of shit on this video.

  • @rogeredtabbit i see i see. Actually I have it in my iTunes and it's under Chet Baker & Stan Getz. Though there's a version where Stan Getz & Dave Brubeck plays together as well.

  • @vyzel Yup. There must be tons of versions since Jazz folk didnt really attach themselves to labels but to music instead. So there are a lot of good jams of the same around. I happened to find this from someone who got it from some torrent and i posted it up here and at the time there was no Stan Getz Misty anywhere. I'm just glad to have people listen to the music. I however dont appreciate a lecture, which happened over the above mentioned comments. Tough noogies i isuppose.

  • It's funny, I have been listening to Jazz for about ten years, starting at age 13 listening and I have never listened to Stan Getz until now, great soft, airy sound, love it

  • Muito bom. Valeu!

  • God, this is good. Thanks for this!

  • would have been nice to put Brookmyer in the pictures.and who is on vibes??

  • would have been nice to put Brookmyer in the pictures

  • Oh goodness, such a mellow and whimisical sound.

  • sigh...

  • So smoothe and danceable.

  • Yeah......... but where's "Windows of the World" ?

  • Does anyone know the date this song came out?

  • @TheMudora first played by errol garner between 1954-55. Co written with johnny burke. This is a jazz standard and not rare as stated above.

  • Great version of a great song. Maybe it's an age thing but Misty is anything but a "rare" song. It's a standard that is part of the repertoire of any Jazz musician.

  • I always learn more about music when I listen to his sweet sax.

  • @dayankai same here :)

  • Excelente rendering de esa maravillosa melodia, la fotografia es excepcional, gracias por compartirlo...

  • Who's on bass?

  • awesome piece... so beatiful

    Album's name please

  • @DAsterion Bob Brookmyer and friends but its a little hard to find, so if you want to download it, try doing it from youtube itself

  • @rogeredtabbit It's actually to find on Amazon or something, or itunes.

  • @rogeredtabbit

    I tunes

  • @rogeredtabbit yea its on rhapsody, but i think its a different take

  • @rogeredtabbit It's available as a remastered CD on Amazon but it's rather expensive.

  • Hermosa interpretación! Le pone sentimiento, gracias por colocar melodias como ésta.

  • who is on trumpet he is so fine

  • Thanks for posting one of the best these guys did

  • Shows you don't have to grow your hair long, jump up and down and hyperventilate at the top of your lungs (in an American accent) and blow a million notes to make an impact. The rock-pop music industry wants to limit our purview to a small realm - which mostly consists of rock, pop and country. Like being in a prison with the jazz guys holding the keys being held back by the guards.

  • Tough day? Stressed out? Need some music but Lady GaGa, Usher or Kenny Chesney just not working for you? Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are just annoying you? Kick your shoes off, grab an adult beverage, put your feet up, lean back, close your eyes and listen to this jazz classic. It just don't get any smoother than this.....

  • My mom turned me onto jazz back in the Forties when I was about 9 years old. I will bless her forever for that.

  • Still there is not many like this...

  • Sherwood74 What a beautiful rendition of this song! Truly enjoyable. Thanks for posting it.

  • only people that have deep intense sense of what an art mean will like and enjoy this type of music......it goes to all of my senses.......I love this music and like this musician.........

  • @Tragic2 Thanks Tragic. I'm glad you're enjoying this music. It feels so good to know that people still like music that you listen to instead of dancing to it. Thanks a lot.

  • @rogeredtabbit this tune is amazing to dance to with your sweetheart u know,-)

  • @WESSYS Thanks, will try that today. Never occurred to me. To self centered and preoccupied with Stan Getz to think about that i suppose. But great tip. Thanks for mentioning it,

  • @rogeredtabbit a shot of tequila is welcome too.

  • @Tragic2 :right on !!!,...

  • layin in my sofa, nice red wine, headphones on and this song....WOW

  • excelent !!!

  • Válasz a videóra... wonderfool music!

  • great song. can you tell me what album i can find it on? did a search for it but keep finding different versions which i don't like anywhere near as much as this one.

  • @randomsuper The Album was Bob Brookmeyer and friends. However its not easy to get the album or find torrents either. My suggestion is you download it from youtube itself.

  • @randomsuper: This track can also be found on a compilation album called "The Lyrical Stan Getz" which also contains some other excellent tracks. It was the first Getz album I ever bought!

  • @bchalifour You're supposed to reply to a witty sarcasm with something of the same wit or more. EPIC FAIL!

  • @rogeredtabbit Lol he was trying to sound all sophisticated and witty, but his questionable grammar skills and totally fail way to make comebacks just backfire horribly XD Great song, man.

  • Random is definitely not the name of the photographers. Why not mention them?

It is courtesy as well as a legal issue.

  • @bchalifour Are you being sarcastic or an asshole....the line between them seems a little blurry and i dont have my glasses.

  • @rogeredtabbit

I did not know that bricks could see even less that they had glasses,... except the ones in which they might drown themselves one of these days. Not to mention the fact that these glasses must have the same depth and glorious sophistication of their master's vocabulary and thinking.

  • Compare this to Kenny G. Stan Getz is really the legitimate form of him. He makes everything "smooth" while being innovating and making his tone accessible.

  • The best song composed by Erroll Garner. A classic piece of cool jazz for ever.

  • cool jazz ;)

  • ............jazzinlove................

  • great song for fallin in love

  • Damn, it reminds me of the Clint Eastwood psycho movie "Play Misty for Me"

  • @Dhalpourie Same music - in the film the gal wants the DJ to play this song!!

  • it relax me !

  • Who's the bone player?

  • @IanSGarner1 I believe it is Bob Brookmeyer on valve trombone.

    but seriously its beautifull

  • did u try amazon?

  • another piece of art is Ella`s version of it...MUST hear...while youre alive,

  • amazing how stan getz happened to be a white man!! ignorance is NOT good!

  • This reaches to the soul. SOOOOO beautiful. Thanks for Posting "Misty" one of the greatest works of art. ; -) Yep makes that smile come to your face. This is how those blues are played NEVER rushed laid back and lazy-like. Oh Yeah! A lovely interpretation from these artists. : -)

  • after long search i found out.

this song is featured on the album "portrait" from 1974.

  • could you please send me a pic of this album, would lik to buy a good record of Stan getz that would have that song
