Very nice video, Naui but we are not indigenous to the Americas because we either came from Europe, Asia, or Australia!!!!! Is very good to follow your culture and heritage but not as bigots as the Mexica movement.
@VENICECHIEF wow, where did you learn history ? I am guessing that you are not aware that the Tongva is apart of the UTO-AZTECAN family language that the Mexica is also part of .
@nauiocelotl,since i'm from NYC,I'm afraid of going to Arizona because of the immigration laws because I look very ethnic looking. In NYC, the first native peoples were the Lenni-Lenape tribe.
@VENICECHIEF Your a fucking dumb ass lol Mexican Indians and Native American Indians we are all the same just diff tribes and languges. Im Cherokee and Zapotec and Im damn proud to be Mexican Indian:)
@nauiocelotl Here's the way I see it: long before Europeans came and drew lines on paper, claiming dominion, there were people with thousands of different cultures that had little to do with each other. Just because some Europeans drew lines on paper doesn't mean that some natives are "American", "Canadian", or "Mexican" per se. The Tongva aren't bound to the united states, if our country collapsed they could continue on as Tongva, no problem; they don't belong to Mexico either.
I have a feeling that some commenters of this video are lumping together the Tongva with the Mexican native peoples. Protip: the Mexica had little to no knowledge about most of the nations living north of the Chichimecas' deserts. There were long-distance traders that did go as far as Arizona, but people living in the Mexican highlands were not the same people living in the L.A. basin.
Also, it took a year for Californios to hear the news of Mexican independence, so take that how you will.
@miscplusahalf The Tongva (pronounced /ˈtɒŋvə/ TONG-və), also referred to as the San Gabriel Band, are a Native American people who inhabited the area in Los Angeles County, California, before the arrival of Europeans. Tongva means "people of the earth" in the Tongva language, an Uto-Aztecan language.
@kaserrrr So because Romanians speak a Latin-based language, Italy now has claim over them? Because Estonia speaks a Finno-Ugric language, Hungary has dominion over them? Are all Slavs Russians now? The Utes, Tongva, Serranos, Tlaxcaltec and Mexica are related, but they're different peoples, and they don't all inherently belong to the government of Mexico, D.F.
If you think the Mexican government has claim on the entire continent, then just say that and we can talk about it.
@nauiocelotl My point is that some people believe Uto-Aztecan means Aztec, and therefor Tongva = Mexican. It doesn't mean that, and the Mexica might as well be called Utes if you do that. That's all I mean to say.
@miscplusahalf Dude, the Mexican People are originals from the UTAH area. and are, Therefore, Pai Utes!
The depiction on the Mexican flag is representation of the Prophecy for the new homeland when they needed to leave the Utah area due to environmental climatic conditions. when they left Utah the prophecy said to continue searching for the signs of the serpent-eating eagle on the Cactus in land surrounded by water.
There is no doubt who these people are and where they belong.
@Mapanatl The Mexica weren't the only people from "Aztlan", and Mexicans are decendent from more than the Mexica. What you're saying is like saying "Dude, the South African people are orignials from the Nigeria-Cameroon area, and are, Therefore, Cameroonians and Nigerians!" South Africa is made of more than Bantu-decendents, Mexico is made of way more than Mexica-decendents (they were/are one single tribe out of hundreds), and your conclusion is something made without much thought.

My first post was meant for tellusmore. I bet NOT one of your grandfathers(I don't mean Sam Houston, George Washington, JFK, etc... I meant a grandparent that share your blood) had anything to do with any of the United States accomplishments. Yet, you talk of "truly exterminate you morons for good". Who did you or your grandparents exterminate?
astro,,Apparently we didnt exterminate natives as every brown person and illegal alien is claiming to be the indigenous ppl.
The fact is you are a mix, many with European blood and absolutely no ability to prove native without DNA. You use omitted history or our right lies to justify lawlessness and your own racism only trying to hide it using a bogus multicultural agenda. To top that off you act like natives didnt exterminate other tribes or take slave. Huge lying racist hypocrites.
How many mixed native ppl living in the U.S. with light skin, blue eye's do you believe there are? You could not match the diversity in my life before diversity was the in thing to claim. The delusion is ppl like yourself that talk diversity but probably never lived with it. The racist are those calling ppl of their own ethnic group coconuts for opposing this nonsense and criminal invasion. Who or what sets the requirement of indigenous ppl, skin color? U an Astro idiot pals.
It is wonderful to see this posted on YouTube. These are the original people of Los Angeles and this is information that is valuable for all our people to hear and know now. Thank you Linda!
Slaves from who, the other tribes, sounds horrible, where have I heard this bull shit before, a huge omitting of your own history. Such peaceful people you shit flowers. The indigenous victim bull crap is growing old and even Obama wont buy this shit. Mexicans hated you, became Mexicans now thats funny. I cant wait till we truly exterminate you morons for good. The only voice you will have is a voice in hell. We won't give up anything to criminals supporting native myths, peaceful people BS.
Don't you just LOVE IT when ignorant people talk as if they had done something to STEAL this land from Mexico? This are the people that do NOTHING but free-load off of other people's accomplishments. Did atleast one of your ancestores serve in a war or in fighting to take anything from Mexico? Idiot
it is a fact slavery has been around since the beginning of time. The Egyptians had slaves, the Indian tribes captured other tribes and enslaved their men and women. Shit in Africa the Africans would capture each other and sell them to the Europeans. Shit happens in history you gotta move on and make life how you want. I don't get why people want apologies after hundreds of years have passed. Im Irish and my ancestors were treated as trash when they migrated to America.
Amen brother. I dont get what these people want but no one from those eras live today and the people who experience slavery are not alive today. I think this is just another hate group trying to blame the people of today who had nothing to do with the people 500 years ago.
Yeah, i have cousins who use it in every other sentence they say. They greet me with hey "N****, you know N****, that's mad funny N****" like somehow it's acceptable to call someone that and not remember the hate behind that word. I dunno why the word is used as a term of endearment now but i guess it's a way of re-iterating the word to try and change the meaning, but to me, it's a degrading word. I don't go around calling my father "hey you mutt sp*c bastard" or my Asian friend a "Ch*nk".
lol, no it's the N-word with attitude. Very classy name for a group of young urbanite musicians, haha. I dunno why such a horrible word was used as a music groups name but, hey it was the 90's, go figure. But yeah, i'm not a fan of rap or hip-hop either.
she looks spanish because most spaniards from spain intermarried w/ american indians in south america. She is of the tribe, but just because her ancestors were forced to change their name or they would be persecuted doesn't mean she's spanish.
She does not look Spanish. Ive been to Spain she looks nothing like the Spaniards. Yes spanish intermarried/raped with the natives but if you compare Mexicans/mestizos with Spaniards and Natives you can tell were way more native than spaniard (at least most of us).
Likewise, my cousins' husband (who I mentioned here) and his relatives look very similar to most of the Mexicans I know. The Dakelh are a closely related ethnically to the Navajo (their languages are both Athabaskan languages). So yes, I agree that most Mexicans are indigenous.
Linda's ancestors are Maranjunar and Culcil born in 1760 and 1765, in the village of Komiicranga, in the SANTA MONICA Canyons. Do some research Johnson857 !
No such thing as an American language for Native Americans.
Culture = a race culture or as a tribe of people that is in the same family of their family linguistic family of languages For an example Uto-Aztecan. Many native Americans in Mexico and in SW U.S. are in this family language.
Heritage = Heritage means a whole of all the same race in the same color of people who is in diverse in their own native tongue but united under one heritage. Heritage means influence in the same race of people.
the apache indians have spanish names. as a matter of fact the majority of native americans in the southwest have spanish surnames, because of spanish rule.i guess native americans with english names are actually british but r trying to b indian, the perfect scam. spanish people have cacasian features with white skin. u can tell the difference between an indian with slanted eyes and high cheeck bones and a european with caucasian features u dumbfuck.
Great vid, though i find it sickening that a lot of "Latino" people who have clear Amerindian ancestry deny their heritage and adopt the more mainstream (and many times stereotypical) Spanish culture instead. I know on my island, where they found out through genetic research that over 80% had Amerindian ancestry, most if not all of the people ignored and dismissed that and still continue living this fake assimilated/Americanized culture of ignorance and pettiness. It's a real shame.
ChrisSRApplePie - I see your point about people embracing their heritage. But how do you change some one who grows up in a different society? I also acknowledge some of the negative history that is a part of America. But it's not all bad. I wish people would some times focus on the good stuff.
I know what you mean, i grew up here in America, but always returned back to my home island every summer. In America i lived in a ghetto, shit-hole city (still do) where the educational system and environment was like a prison and everyone valued being "thuggish" instead of educated. I had no concept of who i was growing up because of that. I was completely alienated. It wasn't until a few years back when i found out about my heritage that i began to realize how pathetic my people have become.
Chris - Wow, what an interesting observation. It's unfortunate that trying to be educated is so frowned upon. Many people look to gangs for survival and sense of acceptance. Or something their lacking with family. The thug life for youth is fast money selling drugs. And living on the edge. Gang culture is another world. Not much future in it, prison or early grave. Your smart enough to see what sometimes others don't.
Yeah, but that whole "hip-hop" or urbanized culture to me is a form of identity suicide. I loathed those people i saw who treated women like crap and the women who allow themselves to be treated like crap just because they accepted it. Do you know how alone it makes you feel when your in a classroom and a third of the girls in your class or even in your age group during your high-school years had kids or were expecting? As a 20 year old man now, i know what it felt to be a lone-wolf so to say.
I can relate to that. I'm in my 20's my self. And I have never understood the girls who have kids so young when they have their whole life ahead of them. I know the mentality of the whole hip hop lifestyle. It can alienate people. I'm a person of peace, it's just my nature. I tried to avoid trouble as much as I could in high school. Now I'm going to college and trying to have a future for myself. Education and knowledge are keys to your future. I have seen so many people mess their lives up.
Yep, totally agree, right now i'm on break until January for another semester of college, while my other same age-group cousins (male/female) are busy living there life in mediocrity in there 20's with children, "baby-mama's", welfare, and cruddy 9 to 5 jobs because they thought they didn't need to read those "boring" books. That's not the life i want to live, i think i deserve more than that after spending most of my life as a left-handed, introvert, loner, haha. Ignorance gets you nowhere.
hip hop and rap is 2 different genre's so get it right before you say something you don't even , learn your history early hip hop from 80-90s was talking about life, till rap came in which was degrading women. so get your facts right and don't be ignorant.
Yeah, i know! i grew up during the wave of "gangsta rap" in the 90's. Back in the 80's and late 70's rap used to be about real life experiences with the inner city during the crack-cocaine epidemic, and how it was tearing their neighborhoods apart. That was when rap actually had life and meaning. Once groups like N.W.A. came along that was when rap started to eat itself alive with masochism and childish posturing. I know what i'm talking about, i lived in it.
lol im sorry if I came out the wrong way.. I understand I just wasnt sure if you were just saying it cause you didnt know but since you told me I have a better understanding of where you came from. :) Sorry for any confusion
It's cool, everyone makes assumptions. I mean my page does say "pimp-smacking metal-head" so maybe that could be a little misleading, haha. But yeah, we all have our days.
man!!!... seeing this woman onlys inspires me to learn even more about my ancestry and the true people of this continent.... it gives a warm feeling knowing that there are people who stand up.
can someone answer this for me? how come alot of the native people that live in california and arizona have spanish last names? is it cause alot of them are half mexican or is there another reason why?
True, but its not like if they put numbers on there backs like they did to the jews. I mean its still slavery and cruel. But its not like how they did it to the jews. The jews where defiantly numbered like live stock.
Not only was our ancestors kept in stock to work in the gold and silver mines for spanish greed our ancestors were killed for fun or for sword practice . When you have the names of the europeon invader is like you hold the name of the slave owner . Why do you think Malcom X changed his name . Read David E. Stannard "AMERICAN HOLOCAUST" or do more research .
Btw Hilter's hero was the conquistadores invaders .
I have a feeling that if more Mexican youth learned about their people's history and their people's original languages, they would change their surnames to Nahuatl, Tongva, Navajo, etc. ones.
Sadly, most of the languages spoken by the indigenous peoples of this continent are dying out. My cousin is married to a Dakelh and he has an English surname. Sad.
@juliaisafilmbuff123 The Blacks tried this "native-surname" thing since the 60's and it didn't work out for them, either because growing up unpronounceable names gets kids labeled the class punching bag.
It's a great idea if you want the other Mexican kids to beat your fake-named kid up everyday, they'd eat that up.
nauiocelotl - I find your videos to be interesting at times. I try to understand your perspective. I look at the immigration struggles that are going on in society as well as just plain survival of people period. The immigrants who come here are surly survivors. Do you feel because of the past all Spanish people or European or American people are wrong doers? Can you embrace any of their ideas and culture? Where does one stand who is mix part native and European? Do they have to take a side?
Your about to lose your sovereignty but would deny it to the bitter end even if god himself handed you the truth on a golden platter. When that happens, when you acknowledge it, if that is at all possible (the possibility of acknowledging reality), then, you can return from whence you came-->Europe.
I can understand 'why don't you go back to Europe' as a quick reply to 'why don't you go back to Mexico or ______" but its not realistic.
By now quite a few 'whites' have Indian, Asian and African blood in them, you can't split them up in any justified way, culturally many are no longer European, and for many biology also is a factor now..
Anyhow the forced re-locations need to stop along with all the other in-humane policies that treat people and their lives like they are pawns in a game.
Yes, I actually agree with you on all points you make. My sentiments are directed at a certain White group in America and not all European descendants. So the, "why don't you go back to Europe" I use is specific and strictly rhetorical as verbal combat and I know that it is unrealistic. However, the part about America losing her sovereignty is not unrealistic and is highly probable and most Americans fail to see the probabilities of new treaties being signed without a vote.
The problem I have with Americans in general, are exactly what you have said about it not being realistic, I am in agreement with that. There are many Americans of African, European, and Latin decent who are succumbing to certain extremist ideologies and behavior that are intimidating, dangerous and straight up stupid. And yes, there are many mixed whites here and are no longer culturally attached to Europe.
The mantra about forced re-locations and the like are ridiculous, and again I must say that I was using it as verbal rhetorical combat and is not a belief on my part, was directed at a specific white group here in America, as they say things, and promote these ideas of re-location.
America from my point of view begins somewhere up near Nunavut on the Artic circle and ends in Tierra del Fuego, and any 'American' who can't get their head around that could benefit from a trip to someplace like Dresden, Belfast, Mexico City or at least a trip to the library RT or OW.
Telling a Mexican, Metizo or Indian in San Juan Capistrano to go back to Mexico is nearly absurd as telling the Irish in Belfast to go back to Ireland the way I see it.
So to sum it all up, when you say certain White groups telling certain people to go back to mexico, are you refering to them saying these comments to illegal aliens or to mexican Americans or to anyone? I dont know what group you are talking about but I know one group such as the Minutemen (non racist) are refering to illegal immigration.
I'm against any sort of blanket relocation rhetoric, whether it be go back to Africa, go back to Mexico or go back to Europe.
And especially in the case of honest Mexicans looking for a job, in the US SW where they have a historic, language and cultural heritage.
Its seems a finger in the dike, til Europe, Asia and USA look closer at the human price tag of what companies and states they deal with in S.A. & Africa. Until then North-to-South downstream will continue to backflow North..
@AmericanPrideNoOther The term white is retarded. The belief that all Caucasoids are of the same race is retard. There are dozens of Caucasoid sub-races and the majority of American 'white's' are a mixture of many sub-races.

Im Irish and my ancestors were treated as trash when they migrated to America.
motoxryder827 2 years ago

ChrisSRApplePie 2 years ago
lol, no it's the N-word with attitude.

LilMMi 2 years ago
She does not look Spanish. Ive been to Spain she looks nothing like the Spaniards. Yes spanish intermarried/raped with the natives but if you compare Mexicans/mestizos with Spaniards and Natives you can tell were way more native than spaniard (at least most of us).
Ivan951 2 years ago 4
Truth.
Likewise, my cousins' husband (who I mentioned here) and his relatives look very similar to most of the Mexicans I know. The Dakelh are a closely related ethnically to the Navajo (their languages are both Athabaskan languages). So yes, I agree that most Mexicans are indigenous.

There is no other American culture then the Natives. Other cultures are immigrant cultures and so NOT American
Sayritupaq 2 years ago
No such thing as an American language for Native Americans.
Culture = a race culture or as a tribe of people that is in the same family of their family linguistic family of languages For an example Uto-Aztecan. Many native Americans in Mexico and in SW U.S. are in this family language.
Heritage = Heritage means a whole of all the same race in the same color of people who is in diverse in their own native tongue but united under one heritage. Heritage means influence in the same race of people.

Yes, some Mexicans are criollos, BUT the majority of Mexicans are mixed indigenous-Spanish. Many indigenous women were raped by the Spanish settlers.

ChrisSRApplePie 2 years ago 3
ChrisSRApplePie - I see your point about people embracing their heritage. But how do you change some one who grows up in a different society? I also acknowledge some of the negative history that is a part of America. But it's not all bad. I wish people would some times focus on the good stuff.
AlienPhilosophy 2 years ago
I know what you mean, i grew up here in America, but always returned back to my home island every summer. In America i lived in a ghetto, shit-hole city (still do) where the educational system and environment was like a prison and everyone valued being "thuggish" instead of educated. I had no concept of who i was growing up because of that. I was completely alienated. It wasn't until a few years back when i found out about my heritage that i began to realize how pathetic my people have become.
ChrisSRApplePie 2 years ago
Chris - Wow, what an interesting observation. It's unfortunate that trying to be educated is so frowned upon. Many people look to gangs for survival and sense of acceptance. Or something their lacking with family. The thug life for youth is fast money selling drugs. And living on the edge. Gang culture is another world. Not much future in it, prison or early grave. Your smart enough to see what sometimes others don't.
AlienPhilosophy 2 years ago
Yeah, but that whole "hip-hop" or urbanized culture to me is a form of identity suicide. I loathed those people i saw who treated women like crap and the women who allow themselves to be treated like crap just because they accepted it. Do you know how alone it makes you feel when your in a classroom and a third of the girls in your class or even in your age group during your high-school years had kids or were expecting? As a 20 year old man now, i know what it felt to be a lone-wolf so to say.
ChrisSRApplePie 2 years ago
I can relate to that. I'm in my 20's my self. And I have never understood the girls who have kids so young when they have their whole life ahead of them. I know the mentality of the whole hip hop lifestyle. It can alienate people. I'm a person of peace, it's just my nature. I tried to avoid trouble as much as I could in high school. Now I'm going to college and trying to have a future for myself. Education and knowledge are keys to your future. I have seen so many people mess their lives up.
AlienPhilosophy 2 years ago
Yep, totally agree, right now i'm on break until January for another semester of college, while my other same age-group cousins (male/female) are busy living there life in mediocrity in there 20's with children, "baby-mama's", welfare, and cruddy 9 to 5 jobs because they thought they didn't need to read those "boring" books. That's not the life i want to live, i think i deserve more than that after spending most of my life as a left-handed, introvert, loner, haha. Ignorance gets you nowhere.
ChrisSRApplePie 2 years ago
hip hop and rap is 2 different genre's so get it right before you say something you don't even , learn your history early hip hop from 80-90s was talking about life, till rap came in which was degrading women. so get your facts right and don't be ignorant.
Zeskents 2 years ago
Yeah, i know! i grew up during the wave of "gangsta rap" in the 90's. Back in the 80's and late 70's rap used to be about real life experiences with the inner city during the crack-cocaine epidemic, and how it was tearing their neighborhoods apart. That was when rap actually had life and meaning. Once groups like N.W.A. came along that was when rap started to eat itself alive with masochism and childish posturing. I know what i'm talking about, i lived in it.

can someone answer this for me? how come alot of the native people that live in california and arizona have spanish last names? is it cause alot of them are half mexican or is there another reason why?
lordcycle 2 years ago
Because they also were slaves to the Spanish . They branded us their names the same way a cow gets branded as property .
nauiocelotl 2 years ago
True, but its not like if they put numbers on there backs like they did to the jews. I mean its still slavery and cruel. But its not like how they did it to the jews. The jews where defiantly numbered like live stock.
deathlord619 2 years ago
Not only was our ancestors kept in stock to work in the gold and silver mines for spanish greed our ancestors were killed for fun or for sword practice . When you have the names of the europeon invader is like you hold the name of the slave owner . Why do you think Malcom X changed his name . Read David E. Stannard "AMERICAN HOLOCAUST" or do more research .
Btw Hilter's hero was the conquistadores invaders .
nauiocelotl 2 years ago
Did you change your last name?
remy5858 2 years ago
I have a feeling that if more Mexican youth learned about their people's history and their people's original languages, they would change their surnames to Nahuatl, Tongva, Navajo, etc. ones.
Sadly, most of the languages spoken by the indigenous peoples of this continent are dying out. My cousin is married to a Dakelh and he has an English surname. Sad.
juliaisafilmbuff123 2 years ago 8

When that happens, when you acknowledge it, if that is at all possible (the possibility of acknowledging reality), then, you can return from whence you came-->Europe.
blokcom 2 years ago
I can understand 'why don't you go back to Europe' as a quick reply to 'why don't you go back to Mexico or ______" but its not realistic.
By now quite a few 'whites' have Indian, Asian and African blood in them, you can't split them up in any justified way, culturally many are no longer European, and for many biology also is a factor now..
Anyhow the forced re-locations need to stop along with all the other in-humane policies that treat people and their lives like they are pawns in a game.
jeru38 2 years ago
Jeru38,
Yes, I actually agree with you on all points you make. My sentiments are directed at a certain White group in America and not all European descendants. So the, "why don't you go back to Europe" I use is specific and strictly rhetorical as verbal combat and I know that it is unrealistic. However, the part about America losing her sovereignty is not unrealistic and is highly probable and most Americans fail to see the probabilities of new treaties being signed without a vote.
blokcom 2 years ago
Jeru38,
The problem I have with Americans in general, are exactly what you have said about it not being realistic, I am in agreement with that. There are many Americans of African, European, and Latin decent who are succumbing to certain extremist ideologies and behavior that are intimidating, dangerous and straight up stupid. And yes, there are many mixed whites here and are no longer culturally attached to Europe.
blokcom 2 years ago
Jeru38,
The mantra about forced re-locations and the like are ridiculous, and again I must say that I was using it as verbal rhetorical combat and is not a belief on my part, was directed at a specific white group here in America, as they say things, and promote these ideas of re-location.
blokcom 2 years ago
blockcom In that context it makes sense.
America from my point of view begins somewhere up near Nunavut on the Artic circle and ends in Tierra del Fuego, and any 'American' who can't get their head around that could benefit from a trip to someplace like Dresden, Belfast, Mexico City or at least a trip to the library RT or OW.
Telling a Mexican, Metizo or Indian in San Juan Capistrano to go back to Mexico is nearly absurd as telling the Irish in Belfast to go back to Ireland the way I see it.
jeru38 2 years ago
Jeru38,
Thanks for hearing me out and replying.
blokcom 2 years ago
So to sum it all up, when you say certain White groups telling certain people to go back to mexico, are you refering to them saying these comments to illegal aliens or to mexican Americans or to anyone? I dont know what group you are talking about but I know one group such as the Minutemen (non racist) are refering to illegal immigration.
AmericanPrideNoOther 2 years ago
I'm against any sort of blanket relocation rhetoric, whether it be go back to Africa, go back to Mexico or go back to Europe.
And especially in the case of honest Mexicans looking for a job, in the US SW where they have a historic, language and cultural heritage.
Its seems a finger in the dike, til Europe, Asia and USA look closer at the human price tag of what companies and states they deal with in S.A. & Africa. Until then North-to-South downstream will continue to backflow North..
jeru38 2 years ago
@AmericanPrideNoOther The term white is retarded. The belief that all Caucasoids are of the same race is retard. There are dozens of Caucasoid sub-races and the majority of American 'white's' are a mixture of many sub-races.
