  • I've been having a lot of trouble with the boss bar, if you could help diagnose what I'm doing incorrectly. I'm not sure how to set it to a unit that spawns from a region at 10 seconds into the game. I have the event in the trigger set to 10 seconds time elapsed of game time and the action is the same as the one in this tutorial except instead of the Human Base I set it to last created unit. When it appears, the bar doesn't correspond to the unit and it is set to 0/0 and only 1/3 is green. Help?

  • for some reason when i test the map, it spawns all the start locations as bases and spawns me at the base which isnt meant to be there

  • @proskill93 nevermind, i fixed it by deleting all spawn locations and just going into Units and making a hatchery far away from the action

  • can someone tell me how to make a end of wave reward? I have each wave as a individual event so you dont have to tell me how to make it repeat

  • I've got an issue where the zergling and all other small melee units go into the base model and only one can attack the structure... any ideas?

  • Okay, so you've got my entire success story right here! :D

    It worked, but not the way you did it. I had to make a point that was in the area of the base (right on top. BTW... I had already done this several comments before, but the attack command wasn't working with the zerglets) Thanks for all of the help! You may have not been so clear in certain parts, but thanks to you, I am no longer an uber-noob. Just a semi noob. I used to think that all trigs were were action causing regions. LOL.

  • Nope. it did not work! Maybe it's something that's different from the beta and the current editor... :/

    Any idea on what I need to do? Also, I set that directory-looking thing for the attack command to attack instead of attack2, so I hoped that that would have fixed it, and it didn't.

  • Ok, fixed the hp problem. But I've been messing around for the past hour with the trigger commands. I found out that I was actually doing something DIFFERENTLY from what you were doing. So, I did what you did EXACTLY, but they still don't work. maybe it's because my zerglings use attack(copy) instead of attack, but even that didn't work. I'm going to try to rename attack(copy) to attack and see if that works for now.

  • Hmm... the zerglets don't have their regular zergling image (the one that reddens as hp gets lower, and is a picture of a zergling, the one where you must CLICK on a zergling to see it) plus, the picture is darkened.

    NOW, all of that would be fine and dandy right now if the zerglets ACTUALLY ATTACKED. I checked over my commands for them to attack, but test after test, change after change, they don't ever attack! :/

  • For everyone who finds their waves are all invulnerable even with the flag unchecked, I just managed to fix it. It's something to do with the handicap action this tutorial asked you to set (where it increases HP depending on number of players). The moment i deleted it, the waves stopped being invulnerable.

  • @Neoptolemus321 That's odd... the cases i worked with were because they didnt have prevent destroy checked and something else in the unit flags... so if what you say is true... that could be a blizzard bug...

  • @OneTwoSC I remade the whole map yesterday thinking I had done something wrong but I obviously havent, If you could find out whats wrong i would appreciate it :)

  • @StormBladeWoW Can you email me your map? So it only makes them invulnerable when published right?

  • Well i tested it for you and they work fine, I think theres something wrong with the triggers or something?

  • Yeah Ill place some now for you. Its messed cause there not invunriable when Im by myself but when I click on Open to Public in Custom Games menu thingy they go immune.

  • @StormBladeWoW I'm not sure what's going on... I've been hearing a few people with this issue. I honestly don't know if it's something that happened between beta and release... but my maps that have gone from beta to release and published dont have this issue. Can you guys just publish a new map (make it and just place some zerglings) and see if that map works?

  • yes i even tried use zealot and zerglings and some other unit but all are invulnerable and invulnerable is unchecked.

  • zerglets keep spawning invunerble and i don't know how fix they don't died.

  • @dillyo09 Unit - Flags... uncheck invulnerable in there.

  • Heres a Tip for the Bounty Text, you can set the mineral cost of the Unit and then access that through Triggering Unit to get how much bounty to give it, which makes like alot easier, I can't seem to access the OnKillResources, but the values are close anyways.

  • hi m8, can u do a tutorial on making a custom marine, custom name an such, im having problems duplicating a marine, theres only a white bubble on the ground where a marine should be, lol, any help would be great :-)

  • @SSnake31 Switch to Actors tab in the data editor, search for your custom unit's name, or if you didn't rename it, search for marine and you should see 'Marine Copy' or w/e. Then click on it and double click on the top field called 'token' and change it to be your custom unit if it isn't already. THEN look for the field Art - Model, itll be grayed out probably. Make sure that is set to Marine and not "____(Unknown)" or w/e.

  • @TeamRedz Did I do that? Sorry I made this tutorial months ago I forget. If you don't want them to attack your barracks just check the flag of "Invulnerable" in Unit - Flags.

  • Soooo may i ask why your flood lights show on the map while mine can't :( i haven't edited the lights any. :(

  • @toofuairi Check your View tab... maybe under one of those options... like I have it set to show game lighting, not editor. etc.... Also under file>preferences... check game settings...

  • @OneTwoSC XD yeah it was my settings. also. 440 zerglets on the last round of 25 minute timer is crazy XD had to cheat by giving myself more starting minerals just ot test it LOL

    i just wanted to see how many zerglets i could get on the game. it is well over 100 0!!!

    and thanks for the tutorials, im going through and learning this editor. didn't know about the wc3 one so i am a noob

  • @toofuairi NP! Yeah I came from the wc3 one... never releasing a map publicly but I spent years with it making my own stuff... time to get with it now :D
