  • wow

  • @ thepillows51 She' actually fairly short, may a bit taller that 5'2", but not much.

  • Im guessing the people who disliked these videos are just like people who dont know shit and were looking up fuckinn porn and got disapointed by finding this

  • Did she mean six two.. because. im five two.. and very short -_-

  • So glad I love ballet. She is my # one choice for my Black History month project !

  • You give hope to so many...Misty you such wonderful inspiration and so graceful when you dance...what energy you send as we watch you dance...good job Misty...

  • Keep striving to be the best Misty and thanx for being such a positive roll model:)

  • This video kinda gives me hope. I'm 15 and I'm just starting and I always think I wont go anywhere with ballet, but the fact that she started when she was 13 really inspires me.

  • She talks about how its not about the insanely arched foot, or that its not about the pretty line .. but in the Ballet word you need to have that it is about that.. because someone might dance with so much feeling and no technique and someone with a lot of technique and not as much feeling they are going to pick the one with the technique and thats just the truth. . .

  • What a beautiful dancer, omg.

  • your so beautiful and you can dance!! what i would do to jump like you <3

  • edit: i meant "how many SHORT/shorter dancers"

  • the second i saw her i thought to myself: hmm she looks short... probably just my imagination... and then she said it :D incredible dancer. it's sad how many dancers have little to no opportunity to go on stage even though they perform incredibly well. i am happy for her. my ballet teacher never had a career on stage since she was only 5 feet tall. she therefore became the youngest teacher in germany when she was only about 24. but she taught me and others well. :)

  • @AllChintzAndFluff It really never occured to me height was of importance in dance, but also, Im not only a ballet dancer, I do just about everything :P soo I guess its just a ballet thing ? btw. I'm 5'1 and the truth is SO many short dancers are amazing

  • What's the music??? PLEASE!

  • She is my inspiration! Whenever I go to dance class I push myself harder so one day I will get to this level....

  • I want to just watch her do her barre work. Just the basics just to watch beauty in the most simple of movements.

  • What is the title of this music?! i really enjoy it

  • She's so gorgeous! And those legs :] Now I don't feel stupid for starting at 13!

  • pause at :18. she is in like over jump! She is amazing! I want to be just like he when I grow up. And also she is in the company that I want to be in to, just another reason to like her!

  • Wow, such an amazing ballerina

    Such an inspiration !!

  • At least we know there's one professional that isn't a foot snob...

  • I LOVE HER!

  • She inspires me :)

  • I looooove the fact that she is not the stereotype of a ballerina! Like she says; she's shorter and started at 13. Also the fact that she is not 'bony skinny' but muscular skinny inspires me! She actually has some femininity!

  • i hate the new hyper-extention style! it looks like they were braking their own legs just to look creepy! :/

  • WoW, your actually better than the people i go to see in theatres x] , im taking ballet lessons now, Ty for that :D !x your so talented<3 some day i want to be just like you :)

  • wow, she is so talented! so inspiring :)

  • .....Can I have your feet and your legs and your talent <3 I love Misty!!!

  • i've watched this so many times

  • ...I have a pair of autographed pointe shoes from her. :)

  • SHE IS A STAR !

  • misty you are so amazing!!!! I love watching your videos!!! you inspire me so much. Im a dancer and when im in class i think about how you would do the steps. You could totally become a principle a ABT. I think a soloist is just as good thought. You are so amazing!!!

  • she is truely and inspiration!

Now how about ballerina stero-types huh!

  • holy calf muscles! wow beautiful dancer :)

  • beautiful dancers but here legs are kinda scary! D:

  • She is brilliant

  • I would love to marry this woman

  • is my favorite dancer!

  • Ballet indeed has maintained its history. And that's why being black or being five ten is still an issue for a ballerina. There are anatomical boundaries to the human body that ballet technique ignores for the sake of form, and therefore, there is a tendency in ballet dancers to neglect their bodies' health for the sake of being "perfect". I.e., the idea of "squaring off" perceived lines in the body does not meet an anatomical reality of curves and spirals.

  • She speaks wise words <3

  • what beautiful legs and feet. wow

  • Omg

    She made me cry.

I have problems with dance like having shorter legs.

    She's so inspiring

    What a beautiful story

  • there is no way in hell she is 5.2

  • "I'm 5ft 2, I started when I was 13, i'm black" she forgot to mention her fucking insane legs! Dont get me wrong shes just incredible but they must of helped quite abit along the way.

  • @Nasha743 her legs kinda scare me..i know it is mean but they are just so MUSCLEY...she i absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous when she dances thouugh

  • She dances with such passion and feeling! She's a joy to watch!

  • HOLY FUCK 5'2 o.O

  • you are such an inspiration! I started dancing when I was 15 and have worked really hard, even though I'm nowhere near perfect! To me it's not about perfection, but doing something that I love <3

  • she is so gorgeous.

  • Oh Misty you are so beautiful! And such an inspiration. I myself am like 5'01 tall (or short) and I love to dance. I started dancing about 6 months ago and at first I thought that I wouldn't keep dancing after I graduate from my one-year-study within dance, but now I never want to stop! You're amazing!

  • she does not dance like she's 5'2'' REPRESENT SHORTIES

  • @hollabigT What are 'shorties' supposed to dance like?

  • love her grand jeté !

  • Hahaha we were just talking about her in my ballet class during water break....we had ALL seen this video xD Mostly, her calves. hahaha! she is so talented... we were comparing her to a teacher/professional in our studio, her body type, and all. any ways: We love Misty!!! and we don't know her!!!!

  • "Im black" lol

  • werk henny

  • This is inspiring, especially that she mentions about starting at 13.

  • @ShillohNH I totally agree!

  • love this music does anyone know who it is

  • Can't believe she's only 5'2... She looks 5'6 or 7 at minimum!

  • @rylo306 How could you possibly tell with no other person in the video to compare?

  • But I'm not a ballerina I'm a gymnast

  • Copeland is my last name too. How weird

  • I couldn't agree with her more:)

And her dancing is beautiful, she has inspired me to finally start ballet!

    Thank you Misty <3

  • Had to watch it twice to listen to what she was saying.. couldn't concentrate with her amazing dancing .. she is so inspirational :)

  • I LOVE this videos, because they give me hope that I can someday be a good dancer. I started when I was 13, 3 years ago, and lots of people have told me I'll never go far, because I started at a late age, and I don't have a great body for ballet.

  • i havent posted here in a while but i still wish i could be a ballerina too bad classes here in Tennessee are so darn expensive i had to drop out

  • 1:22!! I wish my legs were as flexible as hers!! so beautiful:)

  • wow. BEAUTIFUL <3

  • She's an amazingly beautiful dancer.

  • STUNNING!!!!!!!!!

  • oh my god... i had an audition today and the whole time was thinking of what she said... im dont have the arched feet but i do have the techneque :) she just inspired me <3 shes my new insperation :D

  • This gives me so much hope! :) So glad I saw this

  • WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE SONG PLAYING ON THE BACK??

  • She is lovely, I love her :)

  • Misty is muscular! (: super toned arms and legs!! Admire her and now I found my next inspiration to move a step closer to improvement. (:

  • Her focus looked similar to the concentration I've seen exhibited by piano players and (mainly classical) musicians. interesting. also...man I actually (unlike most people, really) like hearing what some dancers have to say.

  • Comment removed

  • Its not about an insanely arched foot.

*camera zooms in on her insanely arched feet*

  • @buddhagirl0819 ...exactly...lol

  • Who ever said ballerinas are anorexic Is an idiot. Look at her body! Fit As anything!

I'm a Dancer too and by no means am I anorexic ...

  • She is sooo stunning!

  • So beautiful :)

  • She is such an inspiration! :´)

  • She is gorgeous.

  • You are such a beautiful dancer. And very inspirational.

  • You are so amazing!! I started at 13 (last year) and even though I love ballet I'm a contemporary dancer. I believed in myself and worked so hard last year that I now dance in a professional dance company here in Italy! If you really love what you do and work hard you can make it!! And I love you so much for being the proof because if I even become half of what you are It's gonna be amazing!!

  • I LOVE U MISTY UR THE BEST DANCER OF LIFE!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG she dances AMAZING :O WOW

  • I SO want her legs and feet.

  • I just love her! <3

  • I really wish my parents could have let me stay at ballet classes when I was a little girl, now I regret no being part of this world. I wish I could have that strength and still look beautiful and delicate (:

  • this is amazing, she's incredible! love it.

  • Wow, she started at 13?!! Isn't that kinda late???

  • she is my idol!!! <3

  • KOCHAM JĄ <3

  • wow, this is truly inspirational, she's such a beautiful dancer it's incredible!

  • This is truly inspirational. It doesn't matter what your background is, it will never stop you from doing what you love and clearly Misty just told us all that.

  • She is so beautiful!

  • She is such a beautiful dancer, her legs are super long, and her arches are soo beautiful as well.

  • She makes herself look so tall! I thought she was around five ten!

  • W-O-W! She is AMAZING!!

Does anyone know how to get a higher devlopé- higher than waist height?

    =D

  • @Stickychick007 try stretching your legs. Mostly do lots of splits and your body will get used to it and you'll then be able to do very high devlopes

  • @Stickychick007 stretching is part of it, but you also have to develop the strength to keep it there. i use a ther-a-band and attach one end to my standing leg arch(i step on it so it doesn't slide up) and attach the other end to my working legs knee or shin. then i do develope holds until i wanna cry and ive seen improvement. Because your legs are used to working with all that extra 'weight' or restriction, they float up when your in class (:but make sure you're using proper

  • @Stickychick007 technique!! you can go into an audition and have the highest leg there but if your hip is up or your bottom knee is bent, or you're sticking your butt out, or rolling in your bottom turn out- no one is going to look at you. solid technique is much better than whacked out limbs. safer too.

  • so very inspiring

  • Bravo!!

  • she is so amazing and inspiring

  • I absolutely look up to her! she has beat soooo many odds

I can't wait to get en pointe this fall <3

  • "It's posible!"

  • I called my daughters soon after this video they told me black people don't do ballet. When they saw her they were speechless.

  • soooooo can I like this video more than once? ;)

  • I joined ballet because of this girl (:

  • @Arkybunny Awww that's wonderful!

  • Such a inspiration.. :')

  • Never heard of her before but... wow. She seems so light, has awesome feet and legs and is incredibly pretty. And she's actually smaller than me, which is quite something. From now on, I love her :D

  • i'm 5'2...

  • Brilliant, so true. Only you can limit yourself. would love to see more videos of you :D

  • what is the music?

  • The only ballerina I've ever seen that actually has boobs! I have hope!

  • @Thejesusfreek316 I think they might be fake. She has scars in her armpits. That's often a sign for a boob job.

  • @CyaMh88 Oh...well either way, she's still got boobs and dances with them.

  • She gives me so much hope! I love her!!!

  • Oh my gosh, I nearly cried because she is so real! I love Misty!!!

  • she's amazing

  • Pause at 0:26

  • FINALLY! A ballerina with boobs! This i can relate to!

  • Is jail very nicely you also Privately for me dancing?

  • Thank you for representing all the short girls with boobs. You are a true inspiration!

  • @NoOneCanDefeatKB24 I didn't mean to make that sound mean. But I'm short and have boobs so just wanted to put it out there.

  • i even started when i was 13 :)

but i guess i'll never reach her level. she's fantastic!

  • Started taking ballet 4 months ago, slowely going into level 2 now, and Im 16 but I've dreamt of being a 'ballerina' for as long as I can remember. Wish me luckxP

  • @Lillydotzgosjb good luck :) i'm starting now and im 16!

  • I'm 54. Started ballet lessons at the Francis School of Ballet Baltimore, MD (African American founded for little black girls who wanted to learn to dance. So, so proud of you Misty we understand the work!

  • oh how I wish it were possible!

  • she is perfect!*-*

  • those legs are freaking beast! The leap was insane! She also has beautiful arms and feet!

  • @dancer941257 you should continue to follow your dream. And don't complain about your height it is the perfect size for a ballerina..... I am very short and I will try and make it work for me you should do the same.

  • WOW so inspiring. if she can dance like THAT and started when she was 13. there is hope for me yet. im 5'11 and ballet is the most precious thing in the world to me. i dance every day and improve very slowly. My dream is to dance in a company such as the RNZB. but my height limits me. She has truely inspired me that ANYTHING is possible. If you actually bothered to read this you may or may not (im thinking not) be interested in knowing im off to start practicing. wow wow wow.

  • @whyiluvtheworld hey i'm 12, i've been dancing for 10 years now :) x I agree; She is such a good idol x If you ever need any help at all with reference to ballet, please message me x :)

  • That song was gorgeous. What is it called?

  • Looks more like a Marvel Comics heroine... you know: the average big boobed warrior girl.

  • Es muy hermosa, y baila muuyy bien, tiene linda tecnica ! yo tambien voy a Ballet ^.^

  • she's dating Prince

  • well im starting at 36 and i cant wait until i can get to pointe~

  • 1:21 my favorite part :):)

  • 0:26 beautiful feet and legs!

  • STUNNING!!!

  • I love what she has to say about classical ballet. I've been dancing since age 3 (i'm now 26) and i have always loved classical ballet, while still enjoying contemporary and neo-classical ballet. It doesnt have to be left behind or seen as outdated. And i share her opinion about the best dancers not always having to have the best feet or prettiest lines to be a great artist. Just look at Margot Fonteyn!
