This is PetrucciFever but all three of the finalists sounded more like Satriani than anything. Even the background track sounded much more like something Satch would play to than Petrucci, IMO.

I can see why the 1st guy won. The other two were very very good, but his ability to control smooth melody with his speed is amazing. I love hearing people who can play both fast and melodically, and who aren't afraid to slow down. I liked parts of all three but the right guy won imo.

ya the first place was definitley right, and the best....no questions asked...and the "speed and tapping shit" was used perfectly and added greatly to the solo. way better than both the others.

the guy in 1st should be 3rd, 2nd should be 1st, and 3rd be second. the winner was not that soulful, he was way to flashy. the runner up has an amazing and im saying amazing wah infused solo. and the 2nd runner up had a beautiful melody that i dont see it in the winner

I think the 2nd solo ruled. I've never been so struck back and taken by a solo before. Then carried till the end after having play it back again and again reliving it like I wish I could. It was.. fucking amazing.

1st solo was the best. David Gilmour-esque. 3rd solo is way overdone. Too many notes jammed in, it loses the feeling. No sense of tone and phrasing. No doubt he has crazy talent, but the style is all wrong for the backing track.

the solo from Iavor Jelev is just excelent, it has feeling, emotion, intensity, reminds me of john petrucci´s solos in some parts. For me, the best of all solos in this contest.

The third one is the best in my opinion, the solo has great fluidity and harmony, great work with harmonics, but the most important is the most emotive it has a message in it. NOT Sayinga that the second a first position weren´t good, just that they couldn´t create a message...

I liked number 3 the best, although 2 was probably the best musician of the bunch. The guy that won was a great technician, but there was just too much completely pointless widdling. He should play a bit slower so he can think in terms of individual notes rather than stringing entire phrases (Which we've heard a hundred times before) together.

I must say that I think the second place guitarist performed the best of all contestants when ripping it up on the wah in the second part of the backing track. That was the highlight of all performances IMO. The hair on my arm kind of stood up when I heard that. :-D

I was surprised to not see the winner get any flack for ripping off Steve Vai. The choice of notes, the techniques, the metronome-timing with the shredded linear scales, the composition (the lick-to-lick-feeling) and overall alot of generally known trademark Vai-licks. In general a mimic of Vai. It is not hard for me to hear this, I play mimicing the timing of Malmsteen myself as I like that (I don't have his technique of course). I thought the winner was doing way too much on that backing track
