@Chavy0106 No, sounds like the card reader is broken which requires buying a new one, taking the DS apart, desoldering the old one off and resoldering the new one on.

@ModMokki You're wrong. Hacking in the original context of computers referred to pretty much everything slightly unusual from the normal operations. Modifying software, hardware, recoding source, entering a BBS even sometimes was considered "hacking", a hacker was purely a computer expert not always the modern consideration. As one of those older generation I miss those simpler times when being called a hacker was a compliment.

Custom firmware has been around since the early days of technology. You could get custom firmware for the early Nintendo's , Gameboy advance. So no the term "custom firmware" does not belong to the PSP.

- No need for any passme device in the future;

- Boots DS directly to Flashcart when turned on;

- Allows you to download play off a DS using a flashcart with backed up roms on.

slot 2 devices are ones that use the GBA slot (slot 2), slot 1 being the NDS cart slot.

this method is really outdated, newer hardware doesnt need a PassMe (the slot 2 device) to flash or use homebrew.

My favorite flash cart is the CycloDS Evolution, as it has the features every other cart has, plus support for Micro SDHC cards, which have much more storage space (up to 64GB - THATS ALOT)

i bricked my ds lite because of this T_T you didn't say that the DS Lite has a security feature where if you don't insulate it, you would hit a thingy on the side that turn it off. i found that vital piece of information online. That's something you should have really included in your video. but, do you have any guides on how to unbrick DSs?

there are other benefits to flashing ur ds other than booting slot-2. you also get protection from viruses(they do exist) and can remove health checks, and can use wireless multi-boot. i see loads of reasons to flash ur ds even with r4. y wuldn't u?
