  • very pretty :)

  • he is BEAUTIFUL!!

    && a lovely mover!

  • he's very pretty! :) how tall is he?

  • @mickisawesome777 ....Thanks.... 16'2 .....but he seems taller..... he has small withers...

  • Lovely perchcross - jealous, me?

    Yes yes yes!

  • @cocochanelleke ..Thank you...

  • what a gorgeous horse..!!!

  • I went through the same ordeal with my perch/tb, we still don't have it perfect but the flying changes come more easily and more often now. Practice practice practice!! I found it was easier for my mare when she was more forward or over fences. We put our trainer out of her mind trying to get them lol. But with our mare it was easier to the left than to the right, she can get full changes to the left sometimes and normally only half to the right. good luck!

  • We are finally getting them..we are good left to right, and about 50% of the time right to left...I think that one will get there with time. He also usually lands on the correct lead most of the time....Im glad I didn't give up...

  • wow he is gorgeous it's a beautiful cross and his color is amazing, plus his performance is amazing too : )

  • try a pole on the ground for the canter changes.

  • Wow! J'adore le travail que tu fais avec ton percheron X TB!

Il est beaucoup plus habile que le mien...mieux monté aussi!

Encore une fois Félicitation pour votre belle complicité à tous les deux!

  • Ok..so I don't know french, but I used an online translation...and it seems your leaving a positive comment on both horse and rider ...so thank you.

  • Bates Caprilli close contact with adjustable gullet will fit just about any horse from the most narrow to the most wide and they are very comfortable...under $2k. can also spend $3k+ and get a county saddle custom made :-)

  • he's light in the front end so he'll get the changes if he hasn't already. you should enter him in my contest for drafties. Beautiful color btw.

  • what kind of saddle do you have on him. we have a draft cross at my barn and we are trying to find a saddle to fit her !

  • I have a collegiate that has a gullet system....of course it has the widest one in..but I will say that other people use thier own saddle to ride him also and it works.

  • Thanks for the comment on my guy. He does have a very sweet face!

  • Shamus :D

    He's beautiful, Michele!

  • I own a P/T cross 16.1. My husband hunts him.

I know that horse and trainer are working very hard in your video. Hats off to them!

Ck out my videos with my husband riding Mr. Moseby ( we call the horse "The Energizer Bunny" Hunthevalley

  • You know I never asked her...I do know she has been doing this a long time. Thanks for your comments..yes he can be a butthead sometimes.

  • Shamus, what a cutie... and so smart! I really like him especially how he is arguing with your trainer:-), is she a certified trainer? What Level? Just curiosity.

  • Do you have 2 bits in his mouth? He might be resisting u so much b/c he's not ready for that yet. He's a beautiful horse and looks very fun to ride. I trained an 18.1 HH shire to change leads. It's really not hard for them once they get balanced, they r so powerful. I think you and ur horse make a great team.

  • No, it is a waterford elevator bit..which gives you more leverage. This is my trainer riding him...not me. Everyone feels he is pretty balanced........we've actually kinda given it a rest for now. Thanks

  • gotcha...hard to tell from the video. Do you show?

  • Just schooling shows for fun..

  • those r the best kind :)

  • he's gorgeous! what a great mover.

  • Thank you..

  • I'm still teaching Georgia flying changes, and agree with pwcarr, it is really hard for our big Clydie x horses to get it! Looks like Shamus has developed a lovely counter canter like Georgia tho!!!

  • He's sooo cute!!!!!!

  • Shamus is just beautiful! Those darn flying changes are hard for our big draft crosses. I must say that your horse seems to hold a nice frame and the trot and canter. Good for you!
