  • Another example of poor education in physiology and medicine. If blood CO2 drops, as in case of hyperventilation, we get less oxygen in the brain. There are hundreds of studies that found this effect. Correct pranayama is exceptionally slow to get more CO2 in the body and this improves oxygen delivery.

  • @10000000000000rpm THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) is cleared from your system naturally in as little as 10 days if you don't smoke it on a regular basis, at max maybe 30 if you're a regular user and stop. If you've only used it twice and that was a month or more ago you are absolutely having zero effect from it, and even if you did have THC in your system you wouldn't notice anything beyond the initial "high". My guess is that whatever you're feeling is completely psychological.

  • @Ganondorf112 The higher the chetna, the more sin it is to kill that being. Sometimes chetna is negative in nature, like those of rapists and murderers. In such cases killing such beings does not create bad karma. If it does it is much lesser as compared to killing a developed and pure consciousness such as those of saints and good people. (THIS IS JUST FOR ILLUSTRATION, I AM NOT ADVOCATING TAKING LAW INTO OUR HANDS!!!!!!!)

    4. The trees and plants also have atma.

    5. The difference is that atma in lower forms such as plants does not manifest developed consciousness. There is no central nervous system which registers feeling of pain, the branches, leaves and fruits can grow again. Although there is a response to trauma, it is NOT accompanied by feeling as is in higher forms such as animals and humans.

    6. Therefore atma is everywhere, the difference is of manifestation of consciousness or Chetna.

    1. The whole creation is manifestation of Brahma, the universal soul, Param-atma

    2. Starting from atoms to the grossest material manifesation everything is part of Param-atma

    3. Living being manifest atma which is part and parcel of Param-atma just as waves are part of the ocean. Just as waves have their separate existence and yet are part of ocean, so is atma.

    4. Life manifests in lower to higher forms, from invisible bacteria to large beings.

  • Can someone please clarify this, when you exhale is your stomach suppose to go in? I think that is what he said...when I exhale my stomach keeps on going out. I will be gratful if someone could help me out here.

    Never do the reverse because it will be termed 'incorrect'.

  • I've been doing this for the past 2 days. Does anybody know how many inhales/exhales I should do? and If my nose is stuffy does it affect it if I breath through my mouth?

  • @brandon8robinson  Beginners can aim at 30 repetitions of kapalbhati. Take a short break (maybe 30 seconds) then you can do another 30 repetitions. Never exceed your limitations and take a break as soon as you feel tired or light-headed.

  • @chrisirwin34 You may want to take a longer break inbetween reps perhaps 1 to 2 minutes.

  • @ffatali Go slowly and build up over time. Practice without force or strain. Not every Pranayama is right for everyone so you could experiment with some other techniques, maybe some more gentle and slow ones. Later you might feel like you want to go back to the ones that made you dizzy, and find that they don't do that any more! Hope this helps : )
