I think this song goes great with the video footage.. at first I wasn't sure how it would go after seeing the original video for 'Cold Song', but then as I watched it, I grew more and more intrigued. I love the part where he is sitting in the dressing room by himself, with all those rows of chairs.. it's so poetic.. very good video.
Glad you like it. I didn't make the video, though. It was a a tape made in tribute to Klaus many years ago. A fundraiser for him, to help pay his medical expenses, if my understanding is correct.
I didn't realize that he died, i remember the Ding Dong song from the 80s. But long forget about him until last year. Now I'm older I realize what a huge talent and wonderful human being we lost to AIDS. HIV/AIDS umong other illnesses has ravaged the entire world and stollen wonderful people from us. But I somehow think this very Spiritual & Ghost like Entertainer was actually pulled away from us because he was too good for this world. The spirits needed him more.
In the early '80s what we now know as AIDS was referred to as GRID, which stands for Gay Related Immune Deficiency, in the mistaken belief that it was spread only by gay sex. So again the educated guess would be guy, but it could be gal.
Actually I wonder now. So many videos seem to go out of sync after they've been on youtube a while. There may have been a little more. I'll have to check my source. Maybe I'll have to upload a new copy.
Nomi died on August 6, 1983 in New York City, one of the first celebrities to die of an illness complicated by AIDS.[2] His ashes were scattered over New York City.[3]
Oh I love to watch him make up ! He really had a beautiful face, with perfet features, straight nose, high cheekbones... Watching him making up on his own is a very beautiful moment, he looks so serious and concentrate, it's like glancing at his intimacy...
(i don't know if what i say is clear, i don't speak english currently, anyway thanks a lot for sharing this video)
I can't find the original post on here, but someone said they had a site about new york life at that time, if anyone knows what site that is or where the post is, please let us know .. thank you.
@videovixen71 part 2 Along for the ride came a pair of South African 'witches' whom we'd met at the Mudd Club, Lynne & Amanda, who phoned /dropped by Page's at the exact moment we were leaving, so I for one gladly welcomed some seductive ladies! (Nomi & Anger were destined to repulse one another more than hit it off -2 Aquarian/rebels aren't necessarily meant to be best pals!)
@videovixen71 pt 3: & the girls were obsessed with their own agenda involving Jimmy Page & THAT Crowley connection... but the memorable thing for me was the late night visit to the Anger sanctum itself on the upper east side! - Two main rooms, one: floor to ceiling RED/ the next: floor to ceiling BLUE (I mean every little detail!) & the lighting too.A simultaneous triumph of the Will, the color sense, & tribute to that Great Decorator in the Sky!
pt 1: I now recall an evening we arranged the summit between KLAUS NOMI & KEN ANGER! Page & I had long hoped for this chemistry to gel or whatever, & the place it was destined to occur was Hisae's Place, a great healthy-oriental restaurant on Bowery till 198?, where NOMI supplied desserts in his cheffing days!
Thank you so much for posting this, you are one of the few people that are keeping Klaus' spirit alive and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it, please keep up the good work

It was nobodys fault that this beautiful person died of Aids.
In the 80´s people didn´t know much about this disease and how they could protect themselves.

(Music by Henry Purcell, Lyrics by John Dryden)
What Power art thou who from below
Hast made me rise unwillingly and slow
From beds of everlasting snow?
See'st thou not how stiff and wondrous old,
Far unfit to bear the bitter cold,
I can scarcely move or draw my breath?
Let me, let me freeze again to death

(I know, I know, it's all in the diaphragm, but still, it's kind of amusing)
This is the first song of his I've heard and so far I've been hooked on Nomi since then. Shame he went before his career could really sky-rocket.
