  • Germans will go bald!

  • It was nobodys fault that this beautiful person died of Aids.

In the 80´s people didn´t know much about this disease and how they could protect themselves.

  • he died so young why God you are so cruel?:/

  • I HATE HATE HATE that he is dead.

  • ach- where is part two?!! Such a voice.

  • Genial!!!!!!

  • I keep seeing Helen Mirren walking with a dress train trailing miles behind her upon which on arriving at her destination she says, 'Try the cock, it's a delicacy'

  • What exactly is the conection between Anger and Nomi?

  • @teddyleevin91 they met once. Didn't hit if off. Search the comments for more info. Oh, and this video reminds me of Anger's film "Puce Moment."

  • ohhh RIP Klaus you will be always in my heart

  • so like an onnagata...the ritual ..the focus

  • was this used in a lynch movie or something...? it's familiar to me.

  • @TheMetro28

Not really, but it does remind one of the opening scene of the Twin Peaks Pilot, where Josie is putting on make-up in a sad, ominous atmosphere.

  • was he a castrati?

  • @trutenon no he was not a castrati.

  • @trutenon Un castrato, due castrati

  • It's the first time we spoke about artist's HIV since the beginning of this scourge.

  • His look will do his legend, but in first he was a fabulous classical singer around the world. I prefer his voice with nothing else.

  • So sorry he died on H.I.V.

  • Beautiful video...

  • Looks like Ben Linus from Lost before the makeup goes on. lol

  • @depeche609 ... I was just about to post the same thing! It's almost uncanny.

  • (Music by Henry Purcell, Lyrics by John Dryden)

What Power art thou who from below

Hast made me rise unwillingly and slow

    From beds of everlasting snow?

See'st thou not how stiff and wondrous old,

Far unfit to bear the bitter cold,

I can scarcely move or draw my breath?

Let me, let me freeze again to death

  • takes skill to do your lipstick like that :-}

  • check this out, you might like this guy also, in my opinion he was the best portuguese songwriter of the 80`s.

    ANTONIO VARIACOES..

  • His eyes were so beautiful.

  • Te extrañamos u_u

  • claus nomi es uno de los grandes de la musica larga vida a este interprete

  • merci mon dieu klaus et merde au sida maintemant le probléme c le pouvoir d'achaiiiid

  • I love his look! Klaus Nomi was a beautiful man.

  • I love this song, He was an under rated brilliant mind, Long live Klaus Nomi!

  • Agree, anyway The Cold Song is by Henry Purcell.

  • I think this song goes great with the video footage.. at first I wasn't sure how it would go after seeing the original video for 'Cold Song', but then as I watched it, I grew more and more intrigued. I love the part where he is sitting in the dressing room by himself, with all those rows of chairs.. it's so poetic.. very good video.

  • Glad you like it. I didn't make the video, though. It was a a tape made in tribute to Klaus many years ago. A fundraiser for him, to help pay his medical expenses, if my understanding is correct.

  • voir un artiste se maquiller ou se demaquiller est la plus belle chose.

klaus nomi etait un fabuleux artiste, il me manque enormement.

  • C'est magique, quelle sensibilité :)

  • magnifique

  • Comment removed

  • I posted my tribute version of The Cold Song as a video comment. What do you think of it ?

  • C'est incroyable!

  • Wow, thanks a lot :-)

    Merci beaucoup :-)

  • Magnifique !

    on en reste sans voix

  • he will always be a full legend

  • Such an odd person... i love it.

  • I didn't realize that he died, i remember the Ding Dong song from the 80s. But long forget about him until last year. Now I'm older I realize what a huge talent and wonderful human being we lost to AIDS. HIV/AIDS umong other illnesses has ravaged the entire world and stollen wonderful people from us. But I somehow think this very Spiritual & Ghost like Entertainer was actually pulled away from us because he was too good for this world. The spirits needed him more.

  • did he die ? .. how ?

  • AIDS. One of the first celebrities to die from it.

  • how did he get AIDS? :O

  • I don't know, but I have an educated guess; unprotected sex.

  • guy or gal :O

  • In the early '80s what we now know as AIDS was referred to as GRID, which stands for Gay Related Immune Deficiency, in the mistaken belief that it was spread only by gay sex. So again the educated guess would be guy, but it could be gal.

  • Klaus was a man, a very great man.

  • Wy was it cut in half?

  • This is all that was on the tape I have.

  • Actually I wonder now. So many videos seem to go out of sync after they've been on youtube a while. There may have been a little more. I'll have to check my source. Maybe I'll have to upload a new copy.

  • Only ONE Klaus...he was awesome!

  • so wonderfull

  • le sida tue l'HOMME et L ART

the aids kill HUMAN and ART

  • The very last part of the video made me lol

  • How sad to lose someone so good so soon.

  • I love that face he pulls at the end, it made me giggle

  • he looks weird without his makeup, but maybe I'm just too used to him with it on

  • Who cares if you are gay. I hope gay, straight and budgies are touched by the incredible and forever missed Herr Nomi......

  • he was great he blended opera with rock and turned everything into his own masterpiece very much his own person i am not gay but i like this stuff

  • he is GREAT ~ he is blending opera with rock and turning everything into his 'own' MASTERpiece ~ very much his own person...

    i am not HAPPY , but i like this stuff~ ~ ~

He came from INNER Space to Save the HUman Race.. blessings to you Klaus 4ever!

  • mefistofeles

  • Was für eine Stimme.Nach 10 Jahren bin

    ich immer noch erstaunt,welch schöne

    Stimme Klaus hatte.

  • i wish i was as pretty as he was too lifes not fair DX lol

  • when I ear and when I see this, tears comes to my eyes

  • I wish i was that pretty ;_;

  • What a sweet person, what a nice guy. Love U Klaus, 4 ever.

  • Wow, he really does have a small mouth o_o -- I thought it was just his make-up. Lol -- And it's amazing how much he can project from it!

(I know, I know, it's all in the diaphragm, but still, it's kind of amusing)

This is the first song of his I've heard and so far I've been hooked on Nomi since then. Shame he went before his career could really sky-rocket.

  • Did Giorgio Moroder steal the melody/sound of this for his theme from "Scarface".....??? ;)

  • I think I've found my Halloween costume

  • so amazing i just love this its sad people today just dont understand this kind of performance and just how havy it trully is.

  • edwarsd scissorhands grandpa in his young days.

  • The cold and wonderfully stark imagery of this is classic`Like making up Death to

return to Life` with poinyent lips to favor

the kiss of DEATH. Music is ideal" with

    a operatic touch.

    Thankyou

  • One of his darker pieces. I love it.

  • amazing

  • speachless I am !

  • yoda?

  • yoda what ???

  • Also Yoda I think!

  • Perrrfect!

  • "Let me freeze again to death?" I thought he was singing, "Let me breathe again today." I found that so poignant.

  • Your take is pretty good too! ^__^

  • Alas...it is incorrect. I listened again and I see you are correct.

  • That's exactly what I thought he was saying!

  • Truly a great.

  • he looks scary at 1:52

  • add to my favorites and 5*****

  • how did he die?

  • Nomi died on August 6, 1983 in New York City, one of the first celebrities to die of an illness complicated by AIDS.[2] His ashes were scattered over New York City.[3]

  • he was such a good man, too bad he died, oh and he looks like a vampire..

  • Ha was quite handsome behind make up. I love his eyes, too bad He died so young.

  • At first, when I saw the lightning song of his, I laughed and didn't even bother finishing the song.

Then the part I listened to kept clawing at me all day, his image kept popping into my head, and now, I think I am a fan of this man.

  • Kewl. Yeah, he grows on ya. Be sure to watch the documentary "The Nomi Song"

  • Hiya! I was just wondering, do you know where I can find 'The Nomi Song Documentary'??

I'm DYING to see it! lol =)

  • netflix, amazon, ebay

  • me too!!!

  • Oh I love to watch him make up ! He really had a beautiful face, with perfet features, straight nose, high cheekbones... Watching him making up on his own is a very beautiful moment, he looks so serious and concentrate, it's like glancing at his intimacy...

(i don't know if what i say is clear, i don't speak english currently, anyway thanks a lot for sharing this video)

  • I understand you perfectly :)

  • I was there the night Ken Anger and Nomi [both Aquarians] met! amongst the N Y Stories on my site

  • Yes, I read that :) Too bad they didn't hit it off. Been a fan of both for years.

  • Oh, what is your site on all that...?! I'm sure us Nomies are dying to know..!

  • I can't find the original post on here, but someone said they had a site about new york life at that time, if anyone knows what site that is or where the post is, please let us know .. thank you.

  • @videovixen71 part 2 Along for the ride came a pair of South African 'witches' whom we'd met at the Mudd Club, Lynne & Amanda, who phoned /dropped by Page's at the exact moment we were leaving, so I for one gladly welcomed some seductive ladies! (Nomi & Anger were destined to repulse one another more than hit it off -2 Aquarian/rebels aren't necessarily meant to be best pals!)

  • @videovixen71 pt 3: & the girls were obsessed with their own agenda involving Jimmy Page & THAT Crowley connection... but the memorable thing for me was the late night visit to the Anger sanctum itself on the upper east side! - Two main rooms, one: floor to ceiling RED/ the next: floor to ceiling BLUE (I mean every little detail!) & the lighting too.A simultaneous triumph of the Will, the color sense, & tribute to that Great Decorator in the Sky!

  • pt 1: I now recall an evening we arranged the summit between KLAUS NOMI & KEN ANGER! Page & I had long hoped for this chemistry to gel or whatever, & the place it was destined to occur was Hisae's Place, a great healthy-oriental restaurant on Bowery till 198?, where NOMI supplied desserts in his cheffing days!

  • Thank you so much for posting this, you are one of the few people that are keeping Klaus' spirit alive and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it, please keep up the good work

  • YOu're welcome! Glad I can help!

  • Remarkable research, t_p. Getting media on Klaus available to everyone keeps his genius moving forward. Thanks so much for your investigations.

  • klaus is the shiz!

  • I wish Klaus alive to make more unforgettable music and his beautiful voice. Klaus may have passed but his music will always with us forever.

  • Actually, this was composed by Henry Purcell in King Arthur.

  • I know that.

    I just love his voice!

  • He did too. And i love the interpretation he puts on it.

Oddly enough, Purcell died at the age of 36 from severe tuberculosis just as Nomi died from AIDS at the age of 39.

  • Wow... what a dark coincidence... tb was almost like the aids of its day.. in a way..

  • The appearance in which he is made up is like the kabuki actor that requires terrible concentration.
