hey i just set up the pc input on this tv but for some reason i'm not getting any sound, do i need additional cables or should i just use regular speakers?????

@IKINGofSPADESI did u use the VGA for pc input? if u did it only transmits video not sound. HDMI can do both video and sound. u would just need to plug in a set of external speakers to your computer if u want sound

Hey!, i recently got this tv and i was wondering if i needed an audio splitter cable if i wanted to use the tv with hdmi to my xbox and a Headset. the headset is the steelseries 5xb. Also what setting would be better for it? PAL 50 or PAL 60 on the Xbox 360? Thanks.

@ApachePieman i have no idea what u mean by PAL 60 or 50 lol.

HDMI runs sound through it too so it will play on the tv. if u want to play an external speaker you can plug it in the headphone jack.

the headset i would assume plug into the xbox?

@randomrazr Thanks for the quick reply! :j The headset plugs into the Xbox via USB and then you have to plug it into the TV either via the headphone jack or with red/white rca cables. I assume the headset would behave the same way as external speakers though, so do you/have you used HDMI with external speakers? Because if they work I can't see why the headset woudn't.

@ApachePieman the tv comes with an adapter thing to use the red and white rca cables so u can use those if u want.

ive never hooked an xbox with the headset thing before but yes it would behave the same way as external speakers

all i can say is plug it in and see what happenS! lol

plus i would have to buy the hdmi cable as well which would add to the costs of the mini to hdmi adapter lol

What cons does this TV have? I want to get the 5000 version. It's exactly this but black. I will be using it primarily for my new Xbox slim :D

I've heard bad things about Samsungs just breaking all the time and the screen going black. Is this TV worth it and what is it like for Xbox? The other Tv i was looking at was the a Sharp 24 inch 1080p LED

@M5IAN ive been using this tv, 90% for using it as an external monitor for my macbook pro, and 10% as an actual tv. so far no issues.

for the size, it has a 5,000,000 : 1 contrast ratio so the picture quality ispretty awesome. its my first samsung product so cant really comment on quality but, i doubt its any better in terms of build when comapring to LG or sony.

@welkorp if i rmember correctly there 4 watt downfireing speakers. there not surround sound but just ur average TV speakers.  i dont have a problem with them.

@randomrazr IPS is "In Plane Switching", which is a kind of panel tech that allows for extremely accurate colours and massive viewing angles. They're VERY popular among professional designs and those who need accurate colours, so what you see on screen is what you get when you print it or send it off somewhere (like colour grading movies, it'll look the same on theatres projectors if they're properly calibrated). Also those things are 2560 x 1440 resolution, again, pro's love that stuff lol.
