If you're writing a Cocoa application in Ruby, install MacRuby or RubyCocoa. They come with Xcode project templates.
If you're writing a command-line Ruby program, I recommend using TextWrangler instead of Xcode. If you want to use Xcode, create an external build system project and edit the target to use the Ruby interpreter instead of make. Double-click the name of the target in the Groups and Files list to edit the target.
awesome video! i've been searching for how to view the results of a program (i.e. i didnt know about the console) for over a week now.
have to admit though, i thought there was a problem with my macbook when i didnt hear any sound from your video but had on my itunes and other programs :P
(it turns out there's an actual problem like that where you have sound on other programs but not on the internet..)
Thank you for a straightforward video that didn't annoy me with a poorly rehearsed (or unrehearsed) audio track. All I wanted (and got) was a video that helped me start learning to program in C.

This is excellent. It helped me find out how to type C++ code into XCode 3.2.6.
