  • Who else was born in '94? Thumbs up! :D

  • HOW IN THE NAME OF FUC* CAN HE SAY THAT THE CALIBRA IS PRETTY?????

  • his conclusion left me alittlle confused. so he liked it but would rather the vw?

  • nice car dumb name. sounds like pure sex

  • You like it because you haven't had to fix it.

  • @pfleeger2010 Tell me about it (really). I'm thinking of picking one up for 950 to fix up and tinker with it. What am I looking at here?

  • @nightpwner Turn around and run away as fast as you can! Parts are scarce at best and will cost you an arm and a leg if you can find them. You will quickly spend more fixing it than you paid for the car. At this point, the factory has quit making parts, the aftermarket is done as well, and salvage yards have been picked clean. I wouldn't even think about buying one. The one I'm working on wont idle while warm and loses oil pressure as it warms up among other problems. Just run away.

  • @pfleeger2010 Thanks for replying promptly, reminds me when I get to work to check the catalog for Probe parts. I work at Advance so maybe we'll have something. What I like about this car besides being 2 doors is the flip up lights, I think it's the coolest. I've seen some sick body mods to this car . I don't know why your comment would be true about part scarcity when this is a '90s American car with a '98-'01Mazda 626 engine. You did know that right? The 2.0L are Mazda.

  • @nightpwner It doesn't seem like the parts would be hard to find, but they are, it's more Mazda than Ford so I call it an "imported domestic." The flip up lights are kinda cool, but what's even cooler is when you start mashing the button as fast as you can and they start to alternate from each other. Maybe Advance has parts and maybe it would help to be in a city/more urban area instead of northwest Iowa. We've had this car for 8 years and it's been hard to find parts the whole time.

  • @pfleeger2010 To help you can always check partsgeek. com, rockautoparts. com, check Advanceautoparts. com, ebay, amazons okay too. There are parts everywhere.

  • @nightpwner I've been able to find some things on rockauto, but to be perfectly honest it's my mom's car and I'm not looking very hard. She doesn't really need it since she has an '06 Charger that she drives and this has been sitting for the last 8 years and I've been trying to get her to scrap it. Also, I don't have much of faith in parts from ebay, amazon, and rockauto, etc. since the aftermarket has made lots of bad parts in recently and I don't have a lot of experience buying from them.

  • My brother has a probe in that color, and i must say it looks beter in reality.

  • @QRF11B SPASM LEGGED JAIL SLUT

  • ford probe stupidest car name ever

  • @QRF11B THAT WAS A CHEAP SHOT......

  • @QRF11B I DONT KNOW, BUT DOES YOUR LEGS GO INTO SPASMS WHEN HE SLIPS HIS MEAT UP YOU ?

  • @QRF11B NOTHING DETRACTS FROM THE FACT THIR PRODUCTS ARE CRAP

  • 20 year old cars now, but funny to tinker on, tune and style! : )

  • I had a Corrado and it was an absolute bag of pure fun. One of the best cars I ever driven.

  • THIS MARKED FORD'S DECLINE......NOWADAYS THEY ARE A JOKE

  • Filter coffee???? Really??? Bleargh.

Espresso every time, or maybe a cap on a lazy day.

  • Lol at the Prelude looking better than the Corrado

The Corrado is such a timeless classic, the Prelude, well it isn't :D

  • Enough Tom Petty in this video?? LOL

  • Funny how he liked how they looked, never digged them myself.

  • @ laiosto so when you get in an accident you can say " you just got PROBED!"

  • mazda engine, mazda gearbox, mazda chasis!

  • @mongrelmob100 no hes not.. it is now one of the best manufacturers ranking higher than both toyota and honda in initial quality

  • @xmodrock Totally agree.

  • @mongrelmob100 He still is. and there is nothing wrong with Ford. One of the best car companies

  • God I hate/love Clarkson! Pompus ass...

  • You don`t see many Ford Probes on the road any more, I remember seeing a few about some years ago, But, Now I rarely ever see them, If at all, Mind you, Just twenty two miles per gallon on easy drive ? That`s quite poor for a car produced mainly in the 1990`s

  • Ha ha, 1993, ski jacket Man booties 3:30 Vauxhall Calibra top dog with working class man even though it's a vauxhall Cavalier in Drag! How time moves on! The VW Corrado was better though! Shame!

  • Ha ha, 1993, ski jacket Man booties 3:30 Vauxhall Calibra top dog with working class man even though it's a vauxhall Cavalier in Drag! How time moves on! The VW Corrado was better though! Shame!

  • Worst name ever after the Mitsubishi Naked.Who would want a call called an anal probe?

  • LOL @ 4:32, so lets go off and be stylish and powerful, must have been a stylish and powerful pickup line back in the day

  • Clarkson should have jump forward in time and simply put it like this - the VR6 was and remains a ground braking innovation, and the Corrado itself became a rare and looked after classic. The rest of these cars become a joke, starting with "Ford" Probe.

  • probes are crap mate, you cant give one away here in the states

  • @camarocanam your a dumbass. probe gt's are great cars and the KL is a great engine.

  • @pileofrd1 prove wrong then, who in their right mind will even fuck with this type of cars, KL engine? wtf is that, what was it use on aside from the probe, there is no reason to get a ff piece of crap when you can get a mustang with a far better and more reliable engine. and if you actually listen to what JC says about this car is pretty much a crap car.

  • @camarocanam This response just proved that you are completely clueless on these cars and that your negative comments are just pure ignorance.

These cars are Mazda's.... with a ford badge.

  • @pileofrd1 i still dont get your point, mazda? and u think mazda's are good? fact is you know this engine aint a great as you think they are, the fact that mazda made it proves my point. just because is japanese doesnt make it good, people now days will pic a corrado or a prelude over the probe guaranteed, theres no arguing about that.

  • @camarocanam ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

  • @pileofrd1 which has nothing to do with the mid 90's engine in the probe

  • @camarocanam it was used in the MX6 which is the probe's sister car.

  • @CamaroAmx another example of mazda's "greatness", who even remembers those, i seem them at the j/y sitting there intact for weeks before they get thrown in the shredder, most unreliable car.

  • @camarocanam I had a 90 Probe LX that i got for free. it was a 6 banger with an auto in red. fun to drive the 3 or 4 times i drove it, until the trans gave out on it. sold it for $400. the new trans (even used) would of cost more then the book value on the car. those automatics give up after about 70,000 miles. mine would of needed its 3rd one.

  • @camarocanam ...Unreliable....you are kidding,i have driven one for 11 years (90,000+ miles) and still have it now for weekends......brilliant car,has never let me down ever, body is rust free and its going as well as it ever did......have you ever owned one?

  • @brox68 no, never been a fan of fwd sport cars or gts, back in the 90s in ny a couple of people i knew used to run them, one of them with the turbo engine, i guess it depends on the kind of use you give them, for that matter a first gen hyundai excel could be categorize as a reliable car. 90 thousand miles i can tell you dont drive that car much, my 91 civic si has 3 times that and i abuse the crap out of it. i doubt your ford will ever be able to put up with that kind of abuse.

  • @camarocanam Im guessing your a camaro fan, which I can say are junk. Ive owned a 94 v6, 00 z28 and they were the worst cars i've owned. Sure they look good and haul ass but I couldnt drive em more than 6 months without having some kind of problem or the engine light coming on, not to mention the cheap piece of crap interior that made alot of noise and falls apart on its own. Ive had a 96 probe gt for 3 years now with 168k miles, regular maintenance and it runs great. Cant say the same 4 chevy.

  • @scorpionexo400 among others, i have a 67 setup for track, hence can-am, but im not partial towards any make specific, i have a 91 civic si, the most reliable junker ive owned. also who in their right mind will buy a v6 camaro? whats the point?and a 2000 z28, lol, how will you even compare that to ur probe?, u can not argue with an straight face that the ls1 engines are worse than whatever u got under that ford.

  • Yes I do 'in fact' own one. No my opinion doesn't come from the clip (yes I've seen it).I test drove and nearly bought a new one in 1995 but didn't.I got it because I drove past one on the motorway a few years ago and it struck me how rare they are and how nice they still looked. Classic 90s. My opinion stems from several years of wanting one and then buying one. It does make me smile when people try to score some kind of points on the net. I thought I'd left all that behind at school in the 80s

  • gutted, was hoping to see the celica review.

  • The Corrado is fast becoming a genuine modern classic. Such a great car and not many left now. My heart skips a beat on the rare occasions I see one on the road. And oh, the noise of the VR6 on song is simply fantastic.

"This is espresso. That's like the Corrado. One shot and it blows our head off."

  • @tnetroP most of the people here have already seen that video too.....if you wanna seem like you know what your talking about dont re-create the exact opinion of one of the producers on the show. You know the video : How to spot a classic

  • @DEC0Y0CT0PUS Actually no. My opinion is from owning one, and I don't think any of my words are quotes from that clip.It seems. I'm fine with you replying to me although you don't seem to be adding anything constructive.

  • @tnetroP Well if you do in fact own one then yes. But at the same time you getting it in your head that there was a possibility of it being a modern classic definately derived from that video. I dont know who would dream that up on there own. I mean....who randomly starts making speculations like that???

  • @mongrelmob100 don't agree with Clarkson pointing out the top speed an high fuel consumption and him calling the probe "not a winner", stressing poor ride quality and the lack of fun.

  • Toyota "sell-lee-kah"????

  • What's the reason for the "Men at work" acoustic music?

  • 1.prelude 2. corrado

  • The grand irony: underneath, it's a Mazda MX6, minus the 4 wheel steering

  • I'd prefer the Prelude and the Vauxhall. They're both attractive vehicles. I'd take the Corrado for its performance, but that's about it. The Ford Probe? No thanks. It's neither attractive, nor a very good performer.

  • Gareth Cheeseman drove a Ford Probe.

  • The Corrado doesnt have a V6.

  • @anmagro ??

  • @anmagro I think he meant VR6

  • in my opinion the ford probe is the best looking car ford ever made, its so sleek and cool

  • @busterboulton97

I'm with you on that one.

  • when he calls these 90s cars pretty, I really don't see it. They all look crappy.

  • And no mention of the 200sx? rear drive and a limited slip diff with a turbo motor meant Lots of sideways fun, something none of those front wheel drive, based on family car posing pouches could do.

But yes the 200sx did look bland, but who cares when you're going sideways.

  • the probe is a bomb car!! these other cars are pretty gay

  • Ha! I hate this car. As a kid, my neighbor had one and thought he was SO cool. I can remember blasting his music while speeding down the street. lol

  • 20 000 pound ferrari! i want the 90s back.

  • @bryguy0254 Ferraris didn't cost 20 000 pound, the Corrado was the closest to a Ferrari for 20 000 pound.

  • Song at 2:53?

  • Tom Petty: Face in the Crowd

  • Coffee analogy never gets old.

  • It's a Nissan 180sx.....minus the fun of rwd, does look pretty decent though

  • @tiger0tank No, it's a Mazda MX-6.

  • In all fairness, that car is really old. I think Jesus was the first owner

  • Once I've saved up enough money I'm getting a Ford Probe as my first car.....need to start putting my licence to use. Always loved the F-P.

  • the VW Corrado is a classic car, the other 2 look very dated now !

  • The Integra GS-R was fast too though maybe a bit more expensive

  • wtf it must not be a VTEC Prelude. I have a turbo RSX-S

  • wtf is it a VTEC Prelude?

  • The Prelude had the 190hp H22, faster than the other cars

  • Snow! When was that? We get more snow now!

  • What a great car. I loved mine

  • i dont know what he is talking about the prelude vtec would smoke all of those cars 190 hp out of a 2.2 cyl ... its more then the corado plus 0 to 60 is 6.3 not 7 like the corado 1/4 mile of the prelude vtec is 14.6... all of this from a super reliable 4cyl car,,, still i love the corado its awesome

  • @KTechish i would not recommend it.. not saying its a bad car but there is better cars out there.. like the prelude the 4 cyl makes about 150 i think and its 4 cyl the v6 probe makes 160 out of a v6... i have a prelude vtec and it makes 190 hp 0 to 60 6.3 and 1/4 mile in 14.6 i think it smokes all of them... the corrado v6 is also an awesome car

  • So he is driving a LHD model in France. I am aware that the LHD NA models had the ~165HP engine. I find it odd that he is comparing this model to European cars. Didn't Europe get a RHD Probe with the ~200 HP engine? Or was that Japan only?

  • @Floresqe

Japan had the KLZE engine, america had the klde, as did europe iirc,

I had a 95 mazda 626 es that i klze swapped and later supercharged, an amazing car to say the least....now i have a corrado in my scirocco :D

  • @xeronicus

Interesting, I've always thought Europe had the ZE. I've had two Probes, one with a ZE and it sure is a lot more fun.

  • Down under - Men At Work

  • thumbs up for men at work

  • I like how between Honda and Volkswagen it's Vauxhall that he calls mainstream.

  • I always had a dream to shag the Stig. And I'm a heterosexual male. He is just so awesome.

  • @kphantomkk

The Stig doesn't belong to any gender, so your fantasies aren't homosexual at all.

  • I hate the 90s

  • "So where's the new Probe going to fit" LOL classic

  • ROCK THAT MULLET!!! ROCK IT HARD!

  • I've driven one for ten years.....no problems at all with it.....no rust and has never failed the yearly mot test here in the UK........nice smooth Mazda engine and decent mpg.......yeah i suppose that makes a it a crap car...lol

  • love that probe :P

  • Did anyone else notice how the boot lid opened slightly when he closed the driver door? 7:51

  • @wyobeatles I'm sure it's because he hit the button to open the boot/trunk right before he got out... ? lol

I doubt it was that loose the whole way driving it, or is that what you're attempting to imply because Ford is an American company?

  • @Northax Ah that is a distinct possibility. I have no problems with Ford. I think they're well made cars, particularly their fleet in the European market.

  • @wyobeatles thats because you release the boot catch from the inside ;)

  • @wyobeatles he popped the release that would happen in any hatchback even a porsche

  • @wyobeatles That's because the boot was ajar. Jeremy unlatched it so that the porter could do his job.

  • 0:30 Down under!!!

  • ah yes, the car you can shove up your ass...

  • the prelude was ugly, it looks worse now and the corrado looks dated. The 406 coupe if it was available would have won that review.

  • Whoah, Jeremy has (real) hair!!

  • @7:52 the trunk lifts when he closes the door; quality.

  • @1tristan1henderson Thats because he popped it for the valet shit head. The pressure created in the car from the door shutting would cause that to happen in any car with the trunk popped.

  • @10kvs Hey yeah, you're right; but watch your mouth bud. Karma's a bitch.

  • @1tristan1henderson Karma is a bitch, 10 minutes after reading this comment Chuck Norris round housed my ass. I was knocked out for 16 hours.

  • DREADFULL CAR!!!

  • Bollocks! I've owned a 24V Probe for 4 years now and love it! A real head turner and lovely car to drive. It's a 1994 early model and has never missed a beat. I've put 18'' alloys and lowered it and am always getting compliments on how cool it looks.

  • fords biggest problem was axeing the capri, the probe was the predacessor and it is horrendus

  • @PlanetAirsoftPlym The Capri was an outdated piece of shit, leaf sprung, with a range of shitty, feeble and low powered engines it should have died in the 70s if it weren't for Ford's greed and laziness in not bothering to properly replacing it...

  • @discocreator76 the probe is hideous, the capri was a brute, yes i agree sum engines were small but the 2.8, 280 brooklands, 3.0 and 3.1 tickford were amazing cars, not a american looking wank stain on the pants of ford

  • @PlanetAirsoftPlym "Brute"??? a cheesy, rust prone coupe that was unchanged from the 60s with it's cart spring suspension, shitty low powered engines and dreadful handling.... At least the probe was good looking and reasonably powerful, pity they were driven by chavs though...

  • @discocreator76 good looking, it looks like a dog thats been raped by mr bloby

  • @PlanetAirsoftPlym The Probe was the Successor, not predecessor.

  • I had a probe 24v and it was DUMP!

  • Love the use of Tom Petty songs in this review. :]

  • VW Corrado is the best out of them all

  • prelude all the way

  • @smackdownbb4 hell yeah.

  • @xxManny2006xx i got 1995 prelude vtec brand new now with 220xxx miles i never had major problems its still running strong as ever.. and still get compliments how nice it is ...

  • I can't believe an 'L' reg Calibra was £20k. You could have bought a 2 bedroom house in some places of the UK for the same at that time. I remeber the Probe being the most amazing car I had ever seen - Brian May did the f**king advert for f**ks sake!

I remember seeing a Probe drive down the street when I was about 11 and thinking it was the sportiest thing I had ever seen - I had just come out the hairdressers and they had a picture of a Countach on the wall too!

  • @ronseal333 Actually it was Chris Rea who did the soundtrack to the ad, not Brian may;-).

  • @KNOCKEDOUTMAN

I love listening to that song when I'm driving the probe.

Its a feel good song. The probe go your own way.

  • @TheProbeman2009 Defo a feel good song. It's a shame that this car was never as big as Ford had hoped as it was a looked and even people like Clarkson liked it! I always liked the probe, even today it's still a very good looking car. And at least it looks like nothing else on the road. Something which cant be said about most cars these days.

  • @1997FordProbeGT are u sure because one of the probe owners clubs said chicago i think it was the uk one

  • @1997FordProbeGT you caressin my nuts makes you da HOMO

  • i think both the Corrado and the Lude are oogly haha. The probe looks the best, and I have a hard time believing that the Vauxhall will reach 150.

  • Alan Partridge car. Was cool for about 1 year, then became naff.

The Corrado is still cool today, the honda, cheap and tacky, the vauxhall, flabby and common.

    Veedub owns the others.

  • @soundseeker63 meh... v dubs are just full of fail... so are hondas and what ever that euro trash thing is lol all 3 fail in my oppinion probe over Vdub or honda fags anyday

  • @evil6in6a6closet i bet a honda prelude lasts longer and with less problems than a probe, i mean the probe turned out to be a bit of a flop,

  • I love being reasonable, i like all types of cars from all different makes. It is truly a shame so many are little twat fanboys about what cars they like and dont like, get over yourselves and look at reality. Whether you like the probe or not to completely knock it and trash it is just retarted, it is a great car and looks awesome, even now it does. I own a 95 probe gt and i absolutely love it, it's sad others cant give credit where it is due. I give credit to all the other cars mentioned.

  • I use to have an old 95 probe gt and I loved that little car, it was while I was in school though lol. The brakes sucks on them though, they lock up easily.

  • @320bit obviously you dont know your cars because it was made in Chicago and the only thing that it has that makes it Asian is the engine and drive train, not the body. plus I’m sure your just some 12 year old who doesnt even own a car let alone a dealership and ur just looking to annoy people just chilling go find something constructive and let the grownups talk. maybe go play with ur hotwheels or cut up a cardboard box and pretend to drive a car as cool as this cause thats the closest ul get

  • @1997FordProbeGT AGREED

  • @1997FordProbeGT its an ugly pos car and anyone who drives one is a flaming homosexual closet TOOL

  • @FramDude281 instead of a ford probe, imagine a big cock riding down the street. we all know girls like big cocks.

  • @spenciejohnson it looks like a tool that go's into a mans butthole much like what Brian Johnson says all the time yah know that probe loving fag

  • @spenciejohnson Gay is the New Straight am i correct Spencer?

  • i hate that car, also did anyone else notice the road he drove down at 7:00? It looks just like the road they filmed on in the transporter. Clarkson is a young man there, lol. HA coffee...i thought it was tea in England. tea and crumpets?

  • whoa you guys in britain actually drink coffee? im actually not joking that shocked me

  • @XXdrunkenxx87 lol? Yes, we drink coffee.

  • We had the probe in Aus. Good looking, but the rear window was bulbous looking.

  • @1997FordProbeGT HAHA. I love that. You all the sudden own a car dealership. That says it all. 90% of car dealers dont know jack shit about cars. If thats indeed true, have fun ripping off poor fools selling them shitty probes.

  • @1997FordProbeGT Taken straight from the list of "best sports coupes" from some magazine. The obvious Ford Mustang. The also obvious Camaro. Civic, RX8, Forte, Cobalt, then theres the new Genesis. Just to name a few. Hopefully none of those are out of your "set price range for sports coupes". And as for the FWD part. Well, FWD sports cars killed themselves. Having a FWD sports car is just an oximoron.

  • @1997FordProbeGT Wow. Your username is taken from a rubbish car, you dont appear to have much knowledge on cars in general, and you have no clue what a sports coupe is. How sad.

  • @1997FordProbeGT Thats just hilarious. The sports coupe market died. I think most of your brain cells is what died. If anything the sports coupe market has skyrocketed since the 90s.

  • @1997FordProbeGT Lets see..... Yup, theres still TONS of sports coupes on the market. Too many to name. The sexiest by far though is the Mercedes CL class.

  • @1997FordProbeGT I do indeed think its funny to see that a 2.0l 4 banger with roughly the same power output as that 2.5l V6 got to 60 "just as fast". That 2.5l 6 cylinder engine in that car was just a joke deal with it. Your just like one of those fanboys that claim that those Saturns are fast cars! Please dont tell me you think ANY Saturn is fast in any respect.

  • @1997FordProbeGT The point your missing is that the probe was just a flop of a car. Granted it was a "better" flop than most. So the probe that was only made for what, 5 years then discontinued and then brought back with a new name another 5 some years later of which that new model only lasted about 2 years? That really says it all.

  • @1997FordProbeGT Oh well lets see. The SVT focus was a sport version of the Focus. Which is still in production. Well in production. So yea. Also, the Focus is the sucessor of the Escort. So basically they have been around for much more than a decade and is probably here to stay. Nice argument there. Should we also think the C36 AMG is shit cuz it was only made for a few years? No, it too was just a sport version of the C Class which also will be with us for quite sometime.

  • i own a 92 prelude si and it is the shit, it truly is perfect

  • @1997FordProbeGT the cougars are nice looking for a 3rd gen probe which they were almost named. the sport package cougars had no governors and could hit 150mph with a standard tranny which is not bad at all... i dont think the Focus SVT is anything to compare.

  • @1997FordProbeGT My soon to be mine 02 SVT Focus which has a 2.0l engine has more balls than the 2.5 probe. This car Iv actually driven and it will easily get to 145mph and Im not that great at shifting so I dont know what the 0-60 is but I can tell you its faster than my C280 and any probe.

  • @1997FordProbeGT Really? I recall saying that I have actually rode in one. Hmm. You musta missed that part. I knew some people who used to have one, it was far from impressive. If you think a probe GT is fast you should get out more. Fact is, if the probe was such a good car they would still be making it. But it wasnt. So they arnt. Case closed.

  • @1997FordProbeGT People like me, who love cars and are interested in performance over looks tend to have a hatred for these cheap japanese cars. Its not that they arnt good cars, its that they are built for a market of 16yo kids who have to put stickers all over it of parts it doesnt have and put annoying fart cans on them that add a million "horsepowers" and put body kits and giant rear wings on them. Putting a body kit and a rear wing on a car with 120-170hp only slows it down.

  • @1997FordProbeGT So had Mercedes put a decent transmission in the W202s I would be singing a different tune. A tune that would probably get me to 60 in at LEAST 6 seconds stock. The thing I hate about these cars, is not the cars themselves. Its the market. People who buy these cars tend to ruin them. Take the civic for example. Nice, reliable economic car. And yet I hate it cuz its ruined by all the people who put fart cans on them. Just like the probe.

  • @1997FordProbeGT The gt probes 2.5 engine had what, 170hp thereabouts? Weak. My 2.8 straight 6 was rated at 197hp at the wheels. So at the flywheel your looking at 220hp give or take. And also considering my engine wasnt designed to be powerful. And its a 4 door luxury sedan which makes it all more impressive when I smoke your probe :) . Granted the early C class transmissions were rubbish and were the slowest shifting things on earth. And yet it still got the job done.

  • @1997FordProbeGT All the more ricer background for it. Sure, if you put money into any engine you can get it to 60 in 6 seconds. Heck if I put $100 into my engine Im sure I could get it to 60 faster than 6 seconds. But people tend forget. Its not just the power. Its how the engine DELIVERS that power. I was never impressed by the probes "power". Iv ridden in a probe GT, and I dont recall it ever being able to get to 60 in 7 seconds flat. But lets take the lazy 2.5 engine for example.
