@stickdudeshooter well i havent had much experience with the latest versions of dsgm but game maker experience should help the codes are kinda different as you cant really recreate your game maker games in ds game maker

uhm...this sounds as a noob question probably, but do you necessarily need PNG images to use as sprites? or does this software allow to start from other NDS games/homebrews? i'd like to make an homebrew for a particular game that can show the different moves characters can make, like you could do with old arcade games. problem is...the battle sprites take too much time to rebuild (bits and pieces scattered everywhere...), that's why i need to know if i can start from other nds files.

@RRRDGames dsgm 5 LOOKS like game maker when you start it up. That's the only similarity. its still missing the most basic of features needed to make the most basic of games. This piece of crap can barely make a ds game. Not without you having to learn at least some of the language which sorta defeats the point.

@Darkside2205 i mean i have not used them recently but game maker was a lot harder to use then ds game maker for me but that just my opinion. You could say anything models it self after anything for example you could say Call Of Duty models itself on quake as they are both FPS both basically do the same thing shoot and kill people/things just like these both basically make games.

@RRRDGames um.... no i can say that because ds game maker DID model itself to look EXACTLY like game maker. and no way in hell game maker would be harder to use, it has every drag and drop function that ds game maker has and many many more. including many basic ones that ds game maker doesn't have. I can't remake any of the games I made in game maker for ds game maker without having to learn the language and I didn't need the language in game maker

@Darkside2205 ummmmm yes like i said its my OPINION and versions before do not look much like game maker. yeah i and see now that they do look nearly exactly the same and like i said. However if you really want to make games then learn an proper programming language which would be able to be used to create games on multiple systems instead of wasting your time here complaining or better yet you could help the creator of ds game maker and give him suggestions on how to improve

I need help with my game. Im trying to make a pokedex, but the If Button Press doesn't work right. Im have it so that if I press down then it should go from Room_1 to Room_2, but it goes straight to Room_3. Im usin version 3.0 only because it has infinite rooms.

@askskater you need something called r4 ds card but you can also use an edge or an r4i (also works on lite) you also need an micro sd card and a adapter for the micro sd all of that should come up to around 30 euros or dollars or pounds
