Its a capo short for capodastre and it takes the key up from EADGBE open to 2nd fret (John Lennon had a high range)

so the whole thing runs up two notes (you can work that out). The capo holds down all six strings.

I play it on the first fret with a dropped D bass (see fretkllr wicked version). Experiment!
