This is excellent. My high school is doing this play for our One-Act in competition at our district thespian festival. Your timing is very well done. This video has been somewhat inspirational to me, both as an actor and an individual. As an actor, it's phenomenal to see a piece done, to be able to take from it and learn another take on it, as well as to compare it to one's own. As an individual, it's just an extremely touching monologue, which speaks volumes to all who hear it.
oh my god, that's very touching! I watched it twice, but I think I'm gonna watch it once again. There are very important and interesting ideas here I want to think about.
Besides, I gotta watch your other videos!! (And I subscribed)
:O...I can't close my mouth...I am in awe...wait..wait..ok we're good. It's closed. Good job though! I wish I had your creativity. I might decide to steal it one day? How? Well I can't tell you that now can I? You might try and stop me
Every day a little death. That's why it is so important to live in the moment, to savor the infinite possibilities of your own choices. Some people don't do things because they haven't done them before. Take that walk in the forest. "Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death." The only antidote to death is a life well llived. You are already on the right track. Keep it up.
I think the messaging system is still flaky, so I'll go ahead and post this again here.
For what it's worth, I don't believe that the forest in the dream is the one in the story. A forest, after all, is full of living things- not stagnant and suffocating like a tomb.
And the mountain above the forest tends to suggest an afterlife imbued with beauty and majesty- something larger and grander than everyday experience.
So stroll on through, and look forward to climbing the mountain beyond.
Ah, yes - I see you're making us do our homework! Scant information on this play/playwright on the web... Obviously contemporary - does he go to school with you?
That's really great: to be able to appreciate the beauty of living and, simultaneously, the beauty of dying. Whether this is you or something else... mad props! FIVE STARS.
Appreciating one's mortality allows life to be lived to the fullest. Just look at those children who have terminal illnesses and yet embrace each and every day full well knowing it might be their last. Life is a series of precious moments. It's up to you what you do with them.
Are these your thoughts or a monologue? Both are beautiful...
I don't mind dying a little each day, and we all know when we have really lived...it's when you feel nothing. No life. No aches of death. Just emptiness. It's when you're an empty shell, that you are really dead.

Sometimes it feels like we take our whole lifetimes to accept the eventuality of our own death. For some this is not so long sadly.
