  • hey, look, it's bruce leigh.

  • OKAY! im going to enlighten you people!~

    1. It isn't a freaking nunchuku(or how a normal peerson would spell it- NUNCHUCKS)

    2. there are Tonfa... usually used in pairs... but in this case.. there is only one, you would call it a Nightstick

  • @xCCflierx nunchucks r the easy way to spell it the proper is nuchuku

  • GREAT QUALITY SOUND.

  • okay from what I've witnessed so far. the three part staf is weapon that can still defend. but ultimately can control and hobble an opponent's strikes if they get too close

  • This is the first time I've even seen Bruce Lee come close to being beaten...

  • @Iceman154435 read video description

  • 0:11

since when was the middle finger ever part of a Chinese weapons form?

  • watch?v=FhAWWg8pnqg

  • It is also called Shalion vs. Ninja. One of the best demonstrations of weapon usage in any kung-fu movie and no one gets killed. One of my favorites. Shalion vs. Lama is a close tie.

  • Pretty good other than the whistling starts to get really annoying

  • i always loved this movie but couldnt remember the name. the hero has to prove shaolin is better than ninja in a 8 day contest using various weapons and styles. this clip and the one where they fight using sai vs. butterfly swords are my favs. thanks for postiny this vid....im gonna look for this movie on netflix!

  • did....did he just do the middle finger at 0:12 ?

  • i would admit...the japanese guy that imitates bruce lee.....is an epic fail!!!

  • this is way too entertaining...

  • Hilarious... they made that other guy pretty much a facsimile of Bruce... but threw in a tonfa to make it just different enough to not cause protest.

  • Bruce Lee would beat both of them! :D

  • @Stanislaw93 lol that was bruce lee.

  • @TheFamousDonsta Which of them?

  • @Stanislaw93 guy with shirt off.

  • @TheFamousDonsta read video description

  • @Stanislaw93 he could probably do it unarmed. not even kidding.

  • @TsunamiTD true

  • Is that Sonny Chiba with the nunchaku?

  • I hate the fact that the japanese guy paired a nunchuku with a tonfa instead of another nunchaku. That would have been more interesting.

  • @BensonChu24 What are you talking about?!?! The nunchaku/tonfa combination is unique and awesome, you never see that anywhere ... its the only reason Ive even seen or remembered this clip!

  • lui kang no. finish him !

  • cotton nunchaku <3

  • This scene made me feel like a kid again, especially since ive been learning the nunchaku for about a year, started learning the Sansetsukon, and may learn tonfa. I have so much to learn! Bring on the bruises!!

  • Unnecissary nunchuk waving!!

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not a toy.

  • witch movie ???"the name ??

  • Many people don't know much about martial art history. The Japanese fighter is most definitely an Okinawan martial artist. The Ryu-Kyu Island had been under heavy Chinese cultural influence from Fujian and Jiangsu regions. The martial arts weapons reflected this influence like the Sais, Tonfas and Nunchakus and others. Also, the Philippines were part of this cultural group and Master Inosanto taught a young Bruce Lee how to use the 'chakus and other aspects of Kali, Escrima and Arnis techniques

  • but who won?????????

  • @paulieandkaty The nunchucku guy gives up because the 3 section staff is longer.

idk. i like 3 section staffs.

  • @triffling11pirate, ha size does matter then!

  • A THREE OF A KIND ALWAYS BEATS A PAIR XDXDXD

  • @Gahlahad431 i actually LOL'd at your comment. +1

  • @Gahlahad431 not the way I use them :D

  • @Gahlahad431 TBH. I think a baseball bat would pwn both of those weapons. come on bro, you can't be serious about trying to parry a baseball bat's swing with those weapons.

  • @TsunamiTD Lol, I wouldnt know, If you can aim JUST one perfect shot with a baseball bat you might be right! But then you are messing with pros that know how to use these weapons :]

  • Though it is weird that the bl wannabe uses a tonfa and a nunchuk...

  • 真功夫!

  • maxi vs kalik

  • Ok this whole movie says I am Chinese, I am better at martial arts than the Japanese.

  • @Zacarriss Chinese invented their style of Kung Fu, and the stol- er... ADAPTED their own form in Japan.

  • i think the guy with the tonfa and nunchaku was the most badass of the japanese fighters

  • so damn fake, but damn funny

  • defense + attack = Tonfa Nunchaku XD

  • bruce lee wanna b

  • I am just wondering if this movie was filmed after bruce lee became famouse in asia because shaws brother almost sign up bruce but bruce rejected its contract and went to golden harvest. as a way to avenge bruce for his rejection, shaws put a numchuck dude with the monkey screaming in this movie to get his ass whoop by his biggest star during that period of time

  • @mcprorck you can do anything you want to do. check out allcombat com and the sizes of the staffs, i know they ell multiple types. good luck!

  • nice nice. three section is my thing. ty that was great

  • I think the tonfa-nunchaku parring is a good idea. Barrage the opponent with the nunchaku and use the tonfa to block and attack, but mostly block.

  • The nunchaku user was doing very simple movements at a very quick speed, which is impressive. I'm more impressed at his ability to use a nunchaku and tonfa together. One is a flexible weapon and the other a rigid one, they act very differently.

  • I agree with Taraka1, it's a very unlikely combination...he's just got too much going on...he needs to be way more simple....

  • He needs more training if he wants to be Bruce lee.

  • nunchaku and tonfa? this guy is all over the place with weapons

  • Why do they always have to be shirtless when using nunchaku?

  • This is a fucking insult to bruce lee. If he don't have the ability, don't act like bruce. Especially about his muscles... cant even be compared with Bruce Lee and stop making those sounds thinking that you are Bruce Lee. If you want to make this movie like this, dont dress-up like Bruce... Be yourself, don't dress like Bruce Lee.. Full of anger when watching this video.

  • @Kenneth9725 actually he doesn't make those sounds, someone added those. i have the original and he doesn't do that at all

  • Comment removed

  • i like the fact that noone had to actually die in order to get respect like other movies

  • who the hell disliked this?

  • @KungfuFreerunning Bruce Lee.

  • why didnt he at close range just throw the tonfa at his face as a diversion and take the three sectional away? practicality or if he was trying to impersonate bruce . then where are the leg checks?

  • They're both pretty impressive with their respective weapons.

  • u lied! u didn't say there was a tonfa involved

  • why didn't the japanese guy simply use a pair of nunchaks instead of just one and pairing it with a tonfa.

  • Omg it's Ikkaku from bleach xD! ... The only difference is that he has hair :D. Nah Jks. These people are really awesome (:

  • Very cool. Nice to see the odd paring of the nunchaku and tonfa.

  • nunchucku AND a Tonfa? he's putting himself at a disadvantage making his mind use to diffrent weapons and forms at once

  • who do yuo think u r, using 2 types of weapon

  • Three-section Staff, Nunchaku, AND Tonfa in one fight?! What's not to love!

  • That Bruce lee imitator is missing the six pack!!!

  • but put tha complete version of this fight... !

  • So its called a Tonfa. Finally I get the name of that weapon.

  • Thats a nunchuk in one hand and a tonfa in another.

  • I like the incredibly exaggerated sound effects at the beginning.

*Woosh*, *woosh*, *woosh*, *woosh*, *woosh*... *woosh*!

  • that's phat man

  • Wah!!! That Gordon Liu!!! And his wearing a wig doing the 3 section stick LOL!!!!

  • @Ming1975 That's how he rolls!

  • Another liu Kang wannabee....

  • man I have to see this movie

  • 1:56 Surely you would just hit him in the face with it? :)

  • excellent choreography imo, much better than what we see in hollywood nowadays

  • Fasted and furious

  • I would of loved to see the painful bloopers in the making of this well choreographed battle

  • nunchauk and a tonfa?

    strange combo

but i guess he made it work

    :)

  • @noodleboix i thought that was weird too...

  • get ur motor runnin' lookin for adventure.yeah darlin we're gonna make it happen.I like smoke& lightnin'heavy metal thunder.racin' with the wind.and the feelin' that I'm under.Yeah darlin gonna make it happen take the world in love embrace.Like true nature's child.we were born to be wild & lookin for adventure =)

  • get ur motor running...lookin for adventure...I like smoke & lightning...heavy metal thunder...racin with the wind...and the feelin' that I'm under...yeah darlin' gonna make it happen...take the world in love embrace...like a true nature's child..we were born, born to be wild..We can climb so high...lookin' for adventure, yeah I like smoke & lightnin; heavy metal thunder.and the feelin' I'm under...yeah darlin gonna make it happen...take the world in love embrace! Born to be wild, wild.=)

  • cool

  • I LOVE THE THREE SECTION STAFF!

  • i thought it was called the broken staff

  • in the 36 chambers of shaolin they called it the 3 jointed staff tho

  • You have to give the guy

    credit. I would never be

    able to balance two

    different weapons and use

    them at once.

  • so sick of these bruce lee look alikes ,just riding the coat tails of a great man !

  • thts why he beat im up

  • @sevendeadly69 I think it became like a weird homage thing - I recently saw a movie in which Jet Li was obviously playing bruce lee, the mannerisms and iconic gestures - it was the strangest thing.

  • why does that 'japanese guy' sound like bruce lee?

  • amazing skill the japanese guy should've won thought cause nunchaku is faster and i hope this comment doesnt cuase another argument

  • @ninjaalliance1 well this comment pist me the EFF offf!!! I want to fight you now!

  • ive had 3 years training under makitsu a master in the art of ninjutsu but if you are somewhere else and im in japan then you cant fight me now can you

  • @ninjaalliance1 Don't worry I hit a 10 year old girl across the face. It took my anger away I am at peace. Be strong my child

  • Bruce Lee was way more muscular than this guy.

  • a proficient user of the 3 section staff would be able to attack and defend simultaneously due to the nature of the 3 section staff...

  • The Japanese master would have dominated any close range fighting but the 3 section staff is good for both close range and long range so it was impossible for him to get close or evade attacks.

  • Sure he could, it'd be alot easier with a second set of chucks, but even with just one, and being fast on his feet he could have. The down side to the 3 section staff is when you strike at someone at a long range u leave yourself exposed to a rush. Which is, if it were me wth the nunchaku, I'd capitalize on.

  • ur all plebs! commenting on missed strikes and odd combo's like you know what ur talking about! either show them the ultimate respect or do better! the hardest combo is a soft and hard weapon and balance is paramount, to kick during that combo against a 3 section is ridiculous! its one of the best classic choreographed scenes ever made, and as a taiji weapons tutor myself i'm in a position to comment!! stop slating talent!!!

  • I agree. true I think the Tonfa nunchaku is an unsual pair, but he made good use of it.

Story wise all I dont like is at the end of this clip he gives up because the staff is longer. With theright will and mind set he could've won.

It's how my own teacher told me. It's not the weapon that counts, its the warrior who wields it.

  • @Taraka1 Yeah but Liu was fucking him up until then, it's not like he didn't make an effort.

  • Yes. Should this Chinese guy go against Bruce Lee, Bruce Lee would be the one to win in real life even with just a air of Nunchuks. But in a movie, Bruce Lee will lose if he is scripted to lose but since it did not happen, well, it didn't happen.

  • @khfreakIII Oh dear you obviously don't know who this "chinese guy" is then this is Gordon Lau/ Lau Ka Fei/ The Master Killer. He is every bit the master of his art as Bruce Lee was. Also the three section staff is a harder weapon to weild than the Nunchuka.

  • Don't misunderstand. I did see the description which says Gordon Liu. And I know he is a Master as well but second to Bruce Lee or so if Bruce Lee is still alive. And the Sanchaku/Three Section Staff is quite easy to wield once you get the hang of it. You just gotta train everyday. No human is perfect and never will be.

  • @khfreakIII It's not called a Sanchaku, it's a Sanjiegun...

  • Ah, and actually the Japanese Warrior didn't really give up. If he was at full strength, he would have kept on going on even though if he was holding just the Nunchaku.

  • @Taraka1 but if your opponent is an equal match and your weapon is shorter, theoretically you can't win unless he makes a mistake right?

  • @Robotman42

Only if you allow it. The chucks have less mass, and if the person using them is well toned, he can use it for extra speed, since the user of the 3 sectioned staff actually slower. (Not by much, but you can clearly see he's a little slower.) I'd say using the Jet Kun Do rule would help the one with the chucks win. Let him attack first, block or avoid, and strike where he's open.

  • @Taraka1 haha yeah, he was obviously going for a half defensive half offensive pairing, it was a pretty awesome fight though, I absolutely love all those momentum weapons including the 3 section staff!

  • @Taraka1 The weapon warrior thing is true but the fighter did not have the correct mindset. He felt the man with the three section staff was a superior fighter considering he disarmed him of his weapons which he viewed as better than the three section staff. Evenly match the three section has the advantage and he felt he was over matched and in a battle he could not win.

  • @buckshoty Heyyy if you like weapons please check out my top 20 count down I just uploaded damn to get viewer is hard work lol

  • @Taraka1 the guy with no shirt there was making too many mistakes...there's a long time where the man with the 3-Section-Staff gentleman's like Back-Peddling the gentleman w/ no shirt on, w/ nunchucku & tonfa, & if that were Bruce Lee or Brandon Lee, I'm pretty confident that the Nunchuck's Chain would've ended up around his neck having the other guy either ready to "Tap-Out" or be Strangled to Death, depending on the setting of the fight...

  • @Taraka1 Therein lies the problem, I do like their society and their methods are very practical and effective. However their major downfall is, they only practice one style each. Admittedly there are those that do practice more than merely just one, not to sound stereotypical but ninjas were one I know some samurai did as well. Still if you don't know the weapon, you won't be able to defend against it effectively.

  • There were multiple times where the nunchaku couldʻve had a good hit, but he made very good use of that combination.

  • one of the best fight scenes ever!

  • Looks like the end result was a tie.

  • lol,...what clip were you watching ArmyJames.

  • nope. The guy with the Nunchaku lost. Right after this clip he stops and explains he's not going to win because the nunchaku he has is shorter than the 3 section staff.

  • @ArmyJames three-sectioned staff scored three significant hits near the end

  • odd combo tonfa and nunchaku but he made it work

  • why does he have a tonfa and a nunchaku? that's a horrible combo

  • At the very least a strange combination

  • who would win gordon liu or bruce lee

  • Bruce Lee if it's open hand, but if it's weapons then i guess Gordon Liu

  • @NeutralArtist94 You wish.

  • @CANAirforce what does it matter?

  • From 1:10-1:18,

there's a very good variable use of the

    three- section staff!

  • tonfa nunchaku guy had two feet... why not use them?

  • why did the nunchaku guy keep hitting himself with his weapon?

  • Just use a baseball bat, require almost no skill to use, grab and swing away.

  • The movie is called Shaolin Challenges Ninja.

  • the tonfa-nunchaku guy missed so many opportunities in this. There were so many areas where the 3-section staff guy had him trapped, and a simple tonfa or chuck strike to the face or body could have resolved things.

  • the three section staff is so beautiful

  • the range of three section staff is far longer than that of nunchaku, but it is harder to take control and the speed is slower.

  • lol nunchacku

  • he has one tonfa and one nunchaku

  • ohhh missed that sorry

  • @hellspawn133 ? You're smart.

  • I have a question...

the three sectioned staff is cool, but can you turn it into an actual staff by sticking it together by the joints

  • No, u can't.

  • not with the way they're usually designed

  • basically its a stick cut into 3s with chains on 2 of the ends

  • actually there are a few that can

  • @TheonlyNiyrulegend Some arfe designed so that you can.

  • In the Japanese camp you have to fighter who are clearly Okinawans in their martial arts. This fighter with the Nunchakyu+Tonfa adn the little guy fighting with a pair of Sais. Okinawa was the area of present day Japan that was heavely influenced by Chinese culture (Fujian province).

  • Nunchucku FTW

  • gotta give it up for the Japanese dude, using two different weapons at the same time is NOT EASY.

  • he didn't use the tonfa that much, and it's not a hard weapon to use

  • I like his historic Police Baton! :)

  • It's called a tonfa in Japanese.

  • I know, I was just putting the point across that its the origin of the Police Baton.

  • Granted this movie was made ages ago and the sound is sooo cheesy, but the martial arts is pretty top notch! These guys really do know how to use these weapons.

  • just word of advice using a 3 section staff is hard as hell. hurt myself alot

  • Lol, not if u buy a good foam practice one, then u just hit yourself in the face and laugh it off! =3

(but I agree, trying to learn how to use this weapon is pretty damn hard!)

  • o man i only just realized the tonfa in the other hand...sweet

  • Dude is a beast wit the Nunchuku and the Tonfa. Pretty sick weapon combo... must try. ^_^

  • When spreading stupid memes, at least try to make sure that they're comprehensible. Vowels are your FRIENDS.

  • ok...

umm for one it was a forward...

and for two i dont need the smart alik remark ok :)

  • Gordon Liu Is NASTY... too ILL for these cats!!

  • To bad you suck at that too right :)

Further info. Martial arts since 1930 also included the training of guns.

So with or without a gun your still screwed :)

  • I love this! I've learned Nunchuku, Kusari fundo, meteor hammer, 3 sectional staff and bo staff (in that order) and 3 sectional is definetly the most complex. It has a lot of power behind it and has terrific range, but I still prefer the Nunchuku because of its great power and super speedo spectacular speed!!!!

Im totally going to learn tonfas next just so I can nuchucku+ tonfa combo when I practice!

  • I'm undecided which is harder to use, the meteor hammer or 3 section staff. They can both go really fast, but you're a lot more likely to hit yourself with a 3 section... But you can easily over wrap yourself and then get hit really hard with a meteor hammer...

They're both really fun though XD

  • To anyone who wants to try using a three sectional staff... a few pointers. First: start with a helmet and a cup. Trust me on this. You will still still take a bunch of bruises learning even the most basic moves but nothing makes you feel more ridiculous than hitting yourself in the junk and the back of the head at the same time. Second: Work on learning how to do things both ways (right hand and left hand swings) evenly. Good luck.

  • Okinawan Styles

  • kind of like the idea of a nunchaku used with a tonfa. you could use the tonfa for a guard
