WOW!!!!u suns fans are all the same...u have great players but a horrible team. Even with Amare and Boris, u still couldn't win. Why dont u just accept the fact that the SUNS CAN'T BEAT THE SPURS IN A 7 GAMES SERIES! It's not that i dislike the suns. i really do like them, they're fun to watch and fairly classy group. But come on! The series is over and they couldn't get it done. Thats why they had seven games to get the job done.
My kid had an explanation, "It's like those David Blane commercials for the NBA with the magnets and springboards. It's magic. There's no other explanation." Poof, the Suns lose due to selective interpretation of the rules. There is no letter of the law, no rules at all really, only what Papa Stern says.
those who would split hair over the definition of "altercation" are plain and simple spurs fans, hence unable to see this rationally. my kid in 6th grade who has no stake in this except to watch good hoops, was outraged by the injustice of one team committing a dirty play out of frustration and the other team recieved a devasting punishment. i think all hoops fans should be too.
mugside hows he all talk? Suns still have homecourt advantage, they have a 2 time Mvp in Nash, a great player in Marion and Thomas, Barbosa do great things to. Suns are going to be fired up for this match. Obviously they've lost more then the gay spurs did but the suns play with alot of heart, so if they play with a lot of fire I think they can still win this!
everyone who says the spurs are just a good defensive team is a complete idiot.i think even though amare and diaw are both suspended the suns will still have a chance. they'll come out with a lot more fire. as for horry, he is a stupid nigger and i will be at game 5 and he is lucky he got suspended cause if he wasn't he would be shot dead.
"During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the vicinity of the bench" - NBA Official Rules, Rule 12 Section VII Part C
There was no altercation, and Duncan did not leave the vicinity of the bench. There's no reason to suspend him.
The rule states during an altercation...and yes there was an altercation....nash went after horry who went and elbowed raja bell....i'd say thats an altercation...where as elson just fell.....
No you're the idiot. I was right all along. The outcome from the the head office is just as I expected. If you saying we're idiots, then you are calling the head office an idiot. Go through your hissy fit at them instead.
Nobody seems to say anything about how this sets a dangerous precedent for basketball. The rule is suposed to prevent fighting but it looks like it's condoning it now. I mean during a series why not just send your scrubs in and have them nail somebody in the face as a planned tactic to get the other team's bench to clear? I see dangerous things arising in the future for the NBA. David Stern is ruining the league.
I think u guys are just mad the spurs choked at home. No diaw/amare, whatever who cares. The fact is the spurs blew a crucial game that could cost them the series. What Horry did was smart. He risked his shitty ass to get the suns riled up and off the bench. If amare/diaw dont play wednesday that could be the smartest thing I've seen done by the spurs so far. BUT if no one is suspended then the spurs are in trouble lol.
rules are rules timmy was on the floor after an altercation.you cant be on the floor that far during a play. amare was checking into the game after horry decided to show his real colors.horry is a fag that needs to just take his rings and shove it up his ass.
No he has a very valid point.. that would have been Bobish of Jones.. it would have caused Duncan to be in the same position Bob caused for Diaw and STAT. Either way i think the rule needs to be changed, instinct is to jump up and defend your boy. They both showed restraint and didnt get involved. The rule should be more about getting involved.
There was no altercation between Jones and Elson. Elson went down, and everyone checked to see if he was alright. There were no elbows, shoves, no foul calls, techs, or anything remotely resembling an altercation.
A player isn't supsended for walking on the bench after a play.
Are you telling me that if James Jones had punched Elson in the face after the play then Duncan and Bowen would be suspended? Horry wasn't in an altercation... he was the altercation. He pushed nash on the ground and hit bell in the face. Those are his actions. You say you have to "follow the rules" but the rules aren't clear in what an altercation is.
How was Horry's an altercation? Horry throwing a hissy-fit doesn't mean the suns players should be suspended. Duncan and Bowen both got off the bench after Elson went down hard. Amare and Diaw did absolutely nothing.
lol. clearly you are a suns fan. that wasn't no 'hissy fit' by horry it was a clear take down. and a clear altercation. amare and diaw left the bench during this altercation; they are going to be suspended. this one with elson wasn't an altercation whatsoever. players step on the court after a dunk like that all time and they have never got suspended. I hate to bring your hopes down like this.
If Horry's play is considered an altercation, then so is this. Both were plays in which players came down hard. Amare's, on the other hand was after a foul, so he has the excuse of getting up to check in.
If amare and diaw are suspended, Duncan should be as well. Horry should be kicked out of the series.
you do realize the rule only states players cannot leave the bench 'after an altercation' right? There was no altercation in this play, and no penalties will apply.
Notice this video did not show the replay which revealed NO ALTERCATION. Suns no championships, Spurs headed for number 4. :)

There was no altercation during the Nash incident, either. Duncan was past the 3 pt line.
If they follow the absolute letter of the rule, Bowen and Duncan MUST be suspended.

LOL! Get real. There was absolutely no "altercation" or fighting going on whatsoever. Players step onto the court like that all the time.
I predict a 2-3 game suspension for Horry, and 1 game suspensions for Amare and Diaw. Very unfortunate, but you have to follow the rules. =(
