  • The Met at its finest. A brilliant afternoon in the house. All three opera were terrific. Bravi tutti!

  • Grazieee troppo bello :D

  • Love the Tuscan accent in the ending speech!

  • bellissima opera, ma perchè i registi la ambientano sempre a fine ottocento?

  • @odontotazio a bho, oltretutto è intrasportabile per una questione di riferimenti ben precisi...

  • Bravo!!! The singing and acting was absolutely fantastic! Great production!

  • This is brilliant!! great performence great actors-singers, great staging! The met is THE opera house nowadays, no doubt!

  • This should be on DVD. This is the one everyone wants available.

  • I would order thats 100% :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this! What a great production.

  • Thanks to posting this opera, I really loved it!

  • You get a good idea of what happened here, but in the theatre it was absolutely STUNNING!

Remember that this is a very EXPENSIVE opera to put on. It's actually 3 separate operas with three big (different) casts. The scale was unbelievable! The barge in the first act looked like an aircraft carrier. One reviewer said that Buoso Donati's bedroom looked like you could land a 747 in it!

So here we are at the end on the opera

  • - There's the whole of Florence spread out before our very eyes!!

Seeing it on the screen is not the same thing. One is used to scene changes in movies. But think what that COST!! That production cost millions of dollars. you could see every penny on the stage. It was totally unforgettable!

  • After Schichi throws out the relatives, there's just a 2 minute little Soprano/Tenor duet and a short speech.

Imagine our wonder, then, when everything suddenly went blank and the whole stage suddenly started sinking! Sowly some statues come into view then a beautiful terrace. OK! we think, Great! But no. It keeps coming down and slowly we see a beautiful Florentine garden. Then - just when we're thinking: "You know, they could have shown a view of Florence" - BANG!!

  • La escena es fabulosa!!!

  • Who is singing? I like his voice.

  • Can we get the curtain calls, madame?

  • Seconded. We'd like to see curtain calls.
