I just finish watching this movie, I give it a 5/5. This movie is not violent and bloody. It's packed with emotion. Especially when Joey got trapped in barbwire and the soldiers making sound to call the horse to them and other part. I don't want to spoil the movie but you have to watch it!!!

OMG, it looks terrible :/ Spielberg made one movie in last two decades, which wasn't a kitschy piece and it was Munich. Even his Schindler's List commited a sin of mawkishness. Ufortunately, in spite of beautiful Williams score and always brilliant Kaminsky's cinematography, "War Horse" could be even worse and be nothing more than new version of "Lessie come home" with another animal as a main character.

wow...the village scenes were filmed in Castle Combe in the cotswolds just a few miles from where I live...and the score is by John Williams!..beautiful cinematography and touching tale...If its anything like Spielberg's Color Purple or A.I i will cry like a baby...oh and Emily Watsons in this too lover her xx

the ending is sad. i read recently of the 8 million horses that went to the western front only 60 thousand survived and these were all about to be sent to slaughter in french and belgian abbetoirs were it not for a campaign and charities here to bring some back. looks like this might actually be a war film by an american director that doesnt show us forces winning the war single handedly.

I think this movie is a shoe in for the Oscar - and yep ... he tried and tried to run home to his owner ... but how it ended - people will be walking out of the theatre crying ... the UK was the only nation that drafted animals in WW1 (horses) - this movie is from their perspective - this is an homage to their service

Finally, Spielberg returns to the heart-warming epic-adventure, just like the good ol' days... before he went dark with "Minority Report", "War of The Worlds", etc. I'm glad to see him back to this kind of subject matter. I have a feeling this will be a timeless classic. :)
