I remember watching this movie back in 80s, growing up in Guyana, and it is what drove me to work with computers. My "intense infatuation" with Virginia Madsen, however, had started with the movie Fire With Fire ... that infatuation has never diminished.

I was graduating high school in 87. At the time, this was an awesome film. Looking back, that hasn't changed one bit. In fact, it gave me my unhealthy fixation on Virginia Madsen (How could it NOT???) that lasts to this day. Can't believe it took until 'Sideways' for her to get an Oscar. I wept that day... (Well, not really, but close..) Thanks for posting! I need to see this movie again!

This is a great movie, one of my favs. Because it was produced by Richard Branson and Virgin Records (trying to branch out to movies at the time), it's not available on DVD. I keep looking, but the only ones out are cheap VHS transfers. I still have my VHS copy I taped from HBO circa 1990!

This has to be one of my favourite 80s songs even though I wasn't even born then. Electric Dreams isn't the only film Jeff Lynne provided songs for. He did 'With A Little Help From My Friends/Nowhere Man' for All This And World War II and he did 'Wild Times' for 'Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves'
