  • 5:29 like real life. We don't live in COD

  • Wow, a minute into your monologue and I already don't care to hear you droll on anymore.

Don't know how you managed to get so much wrong, but props for it, I guess.

  • @MnemonicHack Wow... insightful...

  • Matthew are you stupid? Did you even see the second flim? in the beging you ask why smith was still called smith. its because smith was unpluged, he wasnt a agent anymore but he was still the smith program!!

  • "No wonder Zion has been taken down 5 times" ROFL

  • yo reminds me of when the jedi said anakin would bring balance to the force by destroying the sith?

how would the force be balanced if the negative aspect is eliminated?

  • well i think i may have a counter for the equation for one possetive and negative.

if its in math state then its logical that there can be like 1 x100000 and if he dies its 0x100000= 0

but i still dont think that would put this off the hook :S

  • Why have Hugo Weaving in a Matrix sequel and why have Sigourney Weaver in an Alien movie? Because they want the fans of the previous installment to buy a ticket. Not that complicated...

  • Oh, I get it. You're a robot. You work for the machines.

  • The humans firing bullets at the machines isn't really surprising. Considering in the last film, they were having a sex orgy/rave, while the machines were digging to Zion. I swear, every time I see that scene in Reloaded, I cringe. It's just there so frat boys can go, "Yeah!! Take it off!!!!"

  • no offense but I would rather have my infrantry with lazers.

  • @DarkCrescendo It IS deep and philosophical. If you're really REALLY heavily on pot.. If you are, you might as well even see pink elephants instead of the sentinels, and you might have the impression the mechs are shooting marshmallows instead of bullets.. And that might piss you off a little.. but who cares.. You might even see mechs shooting themselves in the balls.. :) and maybe Neo gets a brainwave!

  • Those ''energy guns'' aren't even working on long range.

  • dude, your so annoying...not only the tone of voice but your logic. Why do they use bullets? well because they have scrap metals for thousands of miles around them in pipelines...

Why no energy weapons? well think about it, an energy weapon rifle to an energy weapon mech....totally different.

why no blast shields? Useless...the machines would easily cut/hack/slash their way through or just tackle the mechs off the bridge.

You looking at the movie from an action/logic persective.

  • @LockieKermit The problem is that this was supposed to be a deep and philisophical movie...which it wasn't.

  • This is such an angry and disappointed review of this movie that tries to tell you this movie sucks, don't listen to it, if you think the movie sucks please decide that for yourself and not because confusedmatthew told you it sucks. These are all subjective opinions of his and to blindly follow what he says would be ridiculous. I do find this movie pretty disappointing and yet still entertaining and flawed. but it is ambitious in "my opinion".

  • @bbutters2 I saw it mayself before Matthew, well it still sucks.

  • she knew it was a risk. remember at the end, the architect said that the oracle took a big risk

  • In the animatrix during the battle of the second renaissance you see that mechs used to have blast shields but all it did was limit visibility and the machines were able to cut straight through the metal. This is probably why they stopped adding them; they were useless.

  • Haha 3:53 Reload! Reload!

  • i agree with all your points , but the battle of zion is still an impressive visual scene(wich is probably the reason why they chose to do this) , but your right the choice of mechs with exposed pilots and machineguns make no sence seeing what technology they have available , just put an emp on that tower in the center of the dock and presh the button ?!

  • With all due respect you are wrong in a few places

    1. Locke said before the battle there was no way for the machines to know they did NOT have an EMP.

2.This must mean only ships are equipped with them.

    3. All the ships but the Hammer and Logos were destroyed in the counter attack Bane sabotaged.

    4. This entire thing is taking place in the dock.

  • hahaha this is only movie. Men you have Orgazm !!! hahaha

  • Bullets instead of lasers, that's one of the worst clichés in movie history.

  • @horaciosi Lasers take ALOT of energy and after sustained fire the beams start to refract and lose power, not something you want to happen in a battle like this.

  • @Shadowdyce11 Well yeah, but since this is science FICTION (A.K.A: anything could happen), they could at least sai that the mechanical suits have some sort of battery charger for their guns.

    Sorry for my shitty english

  • @horaciosi Just because it's fiction doesn't mean it has to throw logic out of the window. Even with a battery pack, unless they managed to invent a small reactor, their capacitors would probably have run dry pretty quickly. (I should know, I'm taking Electrical Engineering.) Also, "Fiction" just means a narrative that never really happened, not "anything can happen", you're thinking of "Fantasy" my friend :)

  • Smith is human in the Matrix is he not??? Ok so your saying he isn't? Then what the bloody fuck is Smith in the Matrix? Holy shit you don't think this through do you?

  • @xMasSaCreDx arguably he just looks human in the matrix for our benefit (like Q in star trek) he's actually a non Non-corporeal computer program

  • You know, I really like your take on the battle's reality flaws. Made me think a bit. Thumbs up for you.

  • UMM I REALY HOPE THE GUY WATCHED THE ANIMATRIX BEFOR THIS VIDEO because in that movie you see how things like blast shields for the mechs were usless

  • so lemme get this straight....

Mr Confused Matthew needs a historically accurate movie, for a time that isn't here yet, on an event that isn't here yet, forgetting that the cast and strategies learned have been reborn and re-learnt 5 times because of complete annihilation of both man and knowledge.....

    Wow.

    Genius at work.

  • @dqk648nw ...And yet the Zion engineers are intelligent enough to build supermechs and remake energy weapons. You didn't really think that one through, bro, lol.

  • energy weapon is like a battery, it need to charge from time to time, its not infinity idiot.

  • @klickkzam true we would probably have to charge them. then again energy weapons haven't even been invented yet...idiot lol. if it ever becomes possible who knows.

  • the hovercrafts were not visabe during the zion fight scene was because during the battle they were defeding a crutial pipeline, watch matrix reloded at 59 minutes they explane it......

  • smiths not a human, hes progam(now more like a virus) so it might be different. also the reason why when people in the matrix cant move is becuz they havent used there real muscles since theyve been born not cuz they dont know how to.

  • they cant blow the dock at that moment because the machines are going in waves if they shot an emp without knowing if all the machines are dead it would be the end instantly by finally they realize that it doesnt matter the docks already gone. which is why they allowed the hammer to blow the dock with a emp.

  • i nearly pissed my pants when he called locke commander angry fuck

  • They are using bullets BECAUSE these bullets are 30mm and powerful that's what i think.

  • and OF COURSE energy weapons need to be reloaded (except in the case of energy weapons, you would say "recharge" instead). so perhaps this is why the mechs aren't using "energy weapons"- maybe they are consume too much energy and have to be recharged too frequently to justify their use in mechs. you seem to have this mentality that just because something is newer, or more advanced, that it must be better- this is not always the case!

  • i have to disagree with the point you made about the mechs and the bullets.

firstly, you're assuming that" energy weapons" would be common by 2199. they may not be a common technology even by that point- in 1920, some thought that personal flying machines would be common by 1980- but they havent even been invented yet in 2011!

secondly, bullets are cheap. energy weapons are not. so there are perfectly legitimate reasons for favouring bullets, even if energy weapons exist.

  • LOL finally found something in your reviews that you are wrong about matthew. Believe, Im more shocked than anyone! Here it is: You state in this review that generally to balanced an equation, you have one Positive and one Negative, not one Positive and one thousand Negatives. Not nescessarily true in this case! If the overall potency of the one Positive (Neo) is so much greater than the potency of any one Negative (1 Smith), then having a thousand Negatives (Agent Smiths) may achieve balance!

  • Doing the whole review in a mocking town is extremely repetitive and annoying, even if you make good points.

  • The Wachowski brothers lucked witht he Matrix, and used a lot of plot elements from William Gibson's "Neuromancer", animes like "Ghost in the Shell", wire choreography from kung-fu movies and other influences, to make a movie which was suprise hit and worked fine on its own.

They should have left the Matrix there. Neo is the one, he can fly and no machines can hurt him. More and more humans will be liberated.

Instead the two abysmal sequal ruined all that by making neo some equation. Bollocks.

  • @AlexDeLarge90

Instead of sticking with the agents (who were very cold and machine like) they introduced loads of pointless very human like programs with petty emotions and desires. Rather than sticking with the human element like when Cypher is dead tired of the cold wasteland that reality is and eating a bowl of "snot" every single day, they focus on visuals and adding contrived dialogue which is downright embarrassing

Fortunately the consensus is the two sequals suck, the last in particular

  • Oracles were always right, or at least worded their "answers" in such phrases to be right in more than one outcome.

  • those "energy weapons" have short range maybe ?...

  • Very well articulated video Matthew. But this also got me thinking about how well put together this was from a multi-interest standpoint. You have the geeky side with computers, martial arts, fantasy, a small amount of love and romance, etc.

In my opinion Hollywoods purpose was not to have a well refined storyline, but to get a huge following so people can spend the coin. They got mine; and not only with this one, but with similar movies like Terminator, Tron, I Robot (Man vs. Machine).

  • @confusedmatthew actually I have to say if youv'e watched the animatrix the second renassiance you'll see that the apu's the U.N. used had closed cockpits that were tight as fuck, however the machines were still able to tear into the cockpit and rip the soldiers out even if the soldiers lost their arms and legs.

  • WoW. Why dont they build a nuclear missile and launch it to the orbit launching a huge electro magnetic pulse shuting down every metal scrub with in a 500km radious.

  • wacth the movie in mundo mystico

  • Have you noticed that the Energy Weapons can only take out one machine at a time the bullets are blowing away dozens

  • Obviously the defense of Zion is going to be subpar! They were set up to defend from an attack through the tunnels! You'll notice that at the start of the second movie, where it is revealed that the machines are digging in, one of the captains remarks "They'll bypass our entire defense network". So obviously the humans aren't fully prepared and their strategy is not going to be optimal.

  • Finally, if this is just a part of one review of your videos, i don't want to add any more to a pessimist critisism due to your negative assumption. And 2, if this is one response from me, i don't want to keep this, is tiring! lol

Don't be like that dude :)

  • Comment at 7:49 : Smith is a programm of the matrix and THE MATRIX WORKS WITH HUMANS IN THERE, MAYBE! THAT'S WHY!

Comment 8:19 : "Wasting everyone's time"!! He is the one, he knows he has to listen to his gut! He just figure out a way to end a war! And even find peace between both sides!!

Comment "all-after-8:46" i explained before, if you don't get it, shame on you :) Pd: The Oracle is not just clairvoyance, is hope too :) Among other things too.

  • mystery is an essential part in movies! It works to keep suspense!

Comment at 5:39, it's better with two, more big missiles the better :)

Comment 6:49 FPietros i'd like to thank you again on this one

Comment 7:04 No, if Neo No. 1 would have stopped the machines as Neo No. 7 (Yes, no 7. Serif, supposedly No. 1, but, it was not shown at the arquitects (shows other 5 Neos, as my theory below proves, he is still plugged at the Matrix and never make it to the "rabitt hole" :)

  • sentinel manage to get away their centered fire, so ONE of the 3 (yes, they work with 3 mecs to watch all their field of vision as strategy), mechs (that's another strategy) stop the centered fire, not the 3 shown in that scene to hit it down.

Comment 5:01 : Was already explained by FPietros with 41 thumbs up in his comment :)

Comment 5:43 They have, as rocket launchers today, you can see it at 5:45 :)

Comment at 6:19 : That's the idea!!! The fight just began and (continue above)

  • Guns over their lasers!? Are you kidding? You can replace them, but will take a lot more time to destroy a sentinel (3:31 , btw you can see they only work at close range) than bullets, and btw, they are like 15cm bullets. As Mifune's fire show, shows they are pretty much effective, they just don't have enought.

Comment at 3:47 : UNstrategically?! Kiddin' me!!? they DRILL the ceilling, how the heck would they know where to . An there was an strategy, in the same scene, one(continue above)

  • mystery for Smith to know why, since Sati is just a programm whose not necessary in the matrix anymore as Sati's "father" said about her. So to find out this "mystery, Smith abosorbs her. Or it could just need someone else to his "army" and don't want any spies for Neo.

Comment at 3:06 : Did you see the anymatrix, second rainassance? In a scene, of the mechs fighting robots, almost at the end, they show this robots tear those shields easily, so it would just make them heavy. (continue)

  • @robertito8888 I don't think it's fair to use stuff in anymatrix, second rainassance to justify stuff in this film

  • @255ad It is totally fair. In fact, anymatrix (if u have seen and understand) clears and explains a lot of things that happened in the movies. They were also a way to tie lose ends, besides being totally awesome.

  • @robertito8888 this is a review of these two movies not the franchise as a howl

  • @255ad That was a stupid response. It's like seeing matrix 2 and 3 without the first one.

  • @robertito8888 except for comparisons to show how this could be done better that's exactly how reviews of sequels should be I'v seen many many critics get angry at sequels for not re-establishing stuff from the first films

also there's the issue that writers could retroactively absolve them selves of criticism by make any of their previous work make sense with stuff put in prequels and sequels

  • The Oracle knows it's necessary for her to say that!

Comment at 1:51 : Serif was supposedly once, "the one" but failed (like the Merovingian said when Trinity, Morfeous and Serif met him. Since he is not in Zion, he is instead on another rebel city or in the matrix dependently, maybe that's why he failed, cause he couldn't see the depth of "the rabbit hole") so is necessary for Smith to absorb Serif first, before getting the Oracle. Sati is important for the Oracle. Since it's a (continue)

  • Well in that scene Neo says they where upgrades. So the "Smith" programm is reconstructed and upgraded. Why upgraded? because at 1:04 (in your comment) since the power of Smith is cannot be thinkable for a machine to upgrade at Neo's fighting skill level, he (Arquitect) replaces quantity with quality, to BALANCE it.

Comment at 1:38 : OBVIOUSLY you can choose, but if your life and your crews life depend on it? What would u have done over a guys (Neo) hunch. Since Nairobi believes the Oracle..

  • My response to your comments:

Comment 1 at 0:23 : No, it started at matrix 1 when Neo was suppose to die, instead of an agent. Just as all peoplewho fight agents do. And since he's "the one", the arquitect creates an opposite for both reasons. Why just one opposite (at the start)? Cause there's only 1 Neo.

Comment 2 at 0:36 : It is Smith. Smith is only a program. Remember the scene where the agents fight Neo at the start of second movie? The "only human" fight? (this will continue above)

  • the thing that shat me about this movie is the battle at the end. Ok we know that the machines die as a result of an EMP so why the heck didn't zion have multiple EMP's in place in the dock and the city in case??? Oh no they had machine guns instead

  • Magic keys? WHAT? You saying Seraph is the Keymaker? Retarded, simply retarded.

And you don't know JACK SHIT about the APU designs. They were designed originally for construction. And if you see Animatrix, a blast shield doesn't do jack shit to OLD giant sentinels, what makes you think these new models would have a hard time? And if you have a shield, you need all the complex HUDs for them, lest they have sight handicap. This is a resource-strapped dystopian future, not bountiful utopia, 'tard.

  • @CrabTastingMan

Why should we have to watch the Animatrix to know that the blast shield doesn't do anything against old sentinels? If the movie was any good, well, if it had any modicum of professional writing, then we the audience should have been informed.

  • @TheDarkFrontier Yeah I know that, but even so, I still have the HUD argument.

  • @CrabTastingMan

True, but then the argument comes in as to why you'd build such pointless defence mechanisms anyway.

  • gotta return nul before completion =/

  • While these are some excellent points, I really don't have any problem with this movie or Reloaded, I think the entire series is just great ^^

  • Uh, Matthew, technically that IS Smith. Smith is a piece of code. It's like multiple instances of the same program. For instance, the Adobe Firefox.exe running on my computer is the same as the Adobe Firefox.exe running on millions of other computers. It's the same piece of code. We're not talking about clones here. Smith doesn't exist physically.

  • I hate these angry smartass fanboys who want to rip good movies into shit, just because little pieces of it don't make sense to their gigantic brains? Goddammit, why can't you recognize a good movie when you see one?

Maybe that's the reason why Hollywood movies get dumber and dumber each year, so only stupid people watch it, who cannot complain about shit.

  • Here's a better defence strategy; FUCK building guns and energy weapons that don't do anything. Put the resources into EMP devices, install them in the conduits well away from Zion, in the path of the machines and set them off up there. The machines can be disabled well before they even reach them; we saw the range the Hammer's EMP had and how many it could take out in one blast.

  • emp guns seem to only take down one sentinel at a time (maybe three if they were big enough to be mounted on apu's), plus they take a while to put a sentinel offline, and they are only effective at short ranges. giant bullets are far more efficient and effective

  • Matthew's impersonation of Rolan is hilarious! Goddamn!

  • It is important to remember that even though it is 200 years in the future technological development has been stunted by being bombed to dust five times in a row.

  • @AppalachianScholar18 not to mention its not simply technology that is the matter of discussion here, but the supply and the resources, and manufacturing capability, and let's not even get into tool refining. They say Rome wasn't built in a day, and Zion... I suspect a lot of the stuff there was salvaged, mashed together, and repaired.

That or the machines kinda left it in a form the humans can cope with for future Zions.

  • @ 8:30 i loled so hard when you immitaded him! ;-)

  • Btw i guess since you study the most useless subject know to mankind that you would not know about basic weaponry those mechs are using the same caliber ammo that is used in the Vulcan guns of a righter jet those things can rip through pure titanium hence why those are used against the machines that is actually a very good use of resources and the fact of the matter energy weapons need to charge up to be fired

  • @senya1672

So they put all those resources into manufacturing weapons that don't work anyway, rather than using the materials, energy and resources into building EMP's they can install in Zion's outer conduits, out of range of Zion, and into the path of the digging machines. And how do you know its the same caliber used in Vulcan miniguns? They never said what caliber they were, you're just insinuating.

  • @TheDarkFrontier You say as if "resources" is a uniform thing that can be used to turned into anything or another. Has it ever crossed your mind that resources come in numerous kinds?

  • @CrabTastingMan

Funnily enough it has. And also funnily enough, they can equip all their ships with EMPs, they can afford to build pretty much EVERYTHING they own out of what looks like cast iron or steel blocks, and the city they've built is about a mile deep by the looks of things. Doesn't look like they're short on resources to me.

  • @TheDarkFrontier Even if they can equip ships like that, doesn't mean they can produce that in a blink of an eye nor does it mean they can spare enough parts for an excess of personnel equipment.

  • @CrabTastingMan

Maybe so, but when your ships are better equipped than the last Human city, thats saying something about priorities.

  • Wait the orcale explains that when neo went inside smith in the first one part of neo was put into smith

  • @tenkenroo

When did she explain that? What were her exact words?

  • @iiiiiiiiiiMVPiiiiiii A little bit in the scene where she explains that he is his opposie. Also I think smith mentions it when he fights neo in reloaded.

  • Comment removed

  • we currently have automated phalanx ciws missile defence system that could have defended zion more effectively than all those stupid walking robots combined.

if we can shot multiple missiles from the sky heading towards us at mach 5, im pretty sure 100 years from now we would have perfected the capabiilty of shooting down slow ass robots with tentacles.

and what happened to humanities nuclear aresenal? and exactly how hard is it to construct emp's or have e-bombs? we havem today

  • @ISinisterI

It is pretty difficult to construct e-boms, but again it all goes back to humans in the matrix world being idiots.

They require enriched uranium or plutonium. Both of which are fairly difficult to manufacture.

  • energy do need, ähem, energy, so i guess they might need to be reloaded as well, i could imagine that such an energy weapon could only be used for a short periode of time, but nevertheless, the battle is quiet unlogical

  • i laughed so hard oh my god

  • Regarding your statement about how there must be one positive and one negative, could the many 'manifestations' of Smith not be part of a greater whole?

  • The movie showed, EMP were charged by the ship's Power source. That is why a Human could not carry one up. The WWII-like Bazookas and they were a desperation effort. The infantry was the mechs (from context). All the tech was (according to TM2) given by the machines. I ask this: 1) Why not add the short ranged e-weapons the Mechs for close Quarters combat 2) Why don't the Mechs with out ammo go to the ammo stores themselves (faster) 3) Why did they not build an EMP in the docks!

  • "commander angry fuck" lol

  • smith and neo are opposites. Neo is "The One". Smith is "the Many". He wasn't just any agent either. In Matrix 1 he was the odd one out for sure, an agent who illogically wanted to leave the matrix because he found it repulsive (not very computer-like). Plus he calls the Oracle "mom", and the Oracle only makes special things. Architect makes everything else

  • the only reason why Smith called the Oracle mum was because that was the seraph smith that was taken over he coz he is her son even tho he looks nothing like her he was created on Purpose too look different so no wud know but some how smith does and appeantly that little girl is meant to be the future oracle or somthing even tho she is very pointless in this film it makes u wonder why it was never meationed in this film we only ever hear about it in the game

  • what a gay critic

  • smith with all his copies still only represents one being one persona SMITH so technically its still a 1 and 1 ratio

  • I agree with your review but as far as zions defense strategy I can offer some explanation. I may be wrong or the film may be inconsistent about this but it seems that the energy weapons the soldiers carried around were inferior to the big machine guns mounted in the APUs also their strategy may seem weak because they had to throw it together in a hurry they mention in reloaded how the route the machines were taking would avoid already established perimeter defenses so that's one plausible expl

  • first this isn't an age of prosperity their favorite past time is hiding from the killer robot machines they don't have time to develop their tech 2nd those "bullets" are more effective then those energy weapons all though powerful their very slow firing and did you see how many of those machines swarmed the city ooh look you got one but their is million more ready to tear you up machine guns on the other hand are rapid firing and can take allot more of them out then those energy blasters

  • they dont have any emp the human smith took most of am out the only one they have left the hammer is rushing towards the gate and why its so important to open that gate so hammer can get though and blast that emp

  • Look confused dumbass, save yourself the time and life to stop reviewing movies and other things in a movie and review your life you dumb fuck! Review your stupid insignificant life before you are even ABLE to review movies. You could learn a thing or two from people who actually watch movies. Dumb piece of shit!

  • it ruins films for me wen the reviewers are right but its my own fault for watching the reviews

  • Bullets!?! BULLETS!

  • its apparent that they probably needed a mass amount of weaponry which are oddly bullets, becuse the only energy weapons they had WERE the ones they needed for cover fire for the ammo-deliverers, what they NEEDED to do and shoudve done in the first place and CREATE ENERGY WEAPONS FOR EEEVVVVEEERRRYYYYTTTHHIINNGGG..............but they didnt

  • I suppose you could make the excuse that the energy weapons WOULD need to be reloaded because they would run out of batteries. But really, they have the homefield advantage, so they could plug their energy weapons directly into Zion's power grid, screw batteries.

Also, I just can't believe the excuse that keeps coming up claiming that all the EMPs were on the destroyed ships. Zion would need extras ready in case a ship got their EMP damaged and needed a replacement.

  • @ConfusedMatthew

Heh, you got caught paying no attention there, Matthew.

I agree with your review about Revolutions, but really, skipping the opening scene of the Zion stand with Lock explaining that they missed EMPs rendered part of your analysis on the Zion defense, obnoxious...

  • @FPietros *sigh* All ships seem to have EMPs - that was their plan of attack that Bane messed up. Doesn't seem to be a problem of manufacturing them, just not on the spot. All the comments about the plan of defense stand, just need a few more 'why's and they're not obscure:

"Why didn't they just use one EMP after another?"

    "They had none."

    "Why not?"

"They sent all their ships and all the EMPs out."

"Why did they do that instead of holding Zion with the EMPs?"

    "Err... derpy derp derp."

  • @Kaneskii *YAWN* Thank you, captain obvious regarding the fact that the ships have EMPS though it's not said anywhere if they ALL had one. To add, there weren't ANY ships on the dock duriNg the Zion defense. To add more, (pay attention here) Lock himself says "they can't know we don't have any EMPs".

The analysis on the Zion defense is not very accurate and among the other missed points is the very clear FACT that the Zion forces on the dock DID NOT HAVE EMP RAYS AVAILABLE during the attack.

  • @Kaneskii Secondly, they DID NOT 'send all their ships out' before the machines attacked. Lock planned a counterattack before the machines got near Zion yet Bane who was boarding one of the ships that were sent on the mission fired the EMP before reaching the designated spot thus wasting the accompanying ships.

That may be the reason why the ships are missing from the docks yet it's also not explained how come ALL ships are missing since only 5 were destroyed on the counteracttack expedition.

  • @FPietros U gotta admit though not putting any kind of shield in front of the damn guys in the mechs had to be the stupidest shit I've ever seen.

Also wonder why the FUCK the machines don't have any weapons of their own except for their metal tentacles or whatever they are.

Although the headless chicken thing was most probably because the conscience that controls all of the metal octopus would have had a hard time keeping track of them all.

  • @ConfusedMatthew

There's only one problem with what you 're saying about the Zion soldiers not using EMP rays when the machines attacked, Matthew...

THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY EMPs AVAILABLE for some reason as Lock said earlier on in the scene after the mid-break: "They can't know we don't have any EMPs"...

In fact, the only EMP resource they had was the one on the "Hammer" which was immediately fired after that ship got inside from gate three.

  • @FPietros Dude what Matthew is saying is WHY DON'T THEY HAVE ANY?!?!?!?!

They know who their enemies are, they know that they are weak to an EMP, SO WHY HAVEN'T THEY MADE THEM, WHY DON'T THEY USE THEM?!?!?!?!?!

    It makes NO sense.

  • Comment removed

  • @kanyehater99

Actually, what makes NO SENSE AT ALL, would be your previous comment WHICH ALSO SHOWED HOW YOU DIDN'T WATCH THE MOVIE AT ALL!!!!!11!!one!!

They don't have EMPs available since they 're all equipped ON THE SHIPS and at the time of the attack THE SHIPS WERE ALL MISSING from the docks DUE TO THE SURPRISE ATTACK planned by Lock that BANE HIJACKED.

The only ship that made it out safe was the HAMMER and WHEN IT RETURNED TO ZION IT IMMEDIATELY FIRED THE EMP AWAY

  • @FPietros I'm not talking about the EMPs on the ships, I'm talking about the EMP ray guns, WHICH SHOULD'VE BEEN EQUIPPED ON THE MECHS, INSTEAD OF THE FRIGGIN GATLING GUNS! The Gatling guns should've been a back up weapon, NOT THE MAIN ONE

Lock said "We need every ship in Zion if we're going to survive this attack" so... WHY WOULD HE SEND THEM ON THE OFFENSIVE?! They needed to assume a defensive posture and let the machines attack them. No matter how you cut it Zion's defenses are STUPID

  • @kanyehater99

The EMP ray guns actually, ARE ONLY EQUIPPED ON THE SHIPS!!!Those small ray guns which are needed to protect the reloaders of the mechs ARE NOT EMP rays. They are simply small range and low capacity guns JUST TO KEEP THE MACHINES MOMENTARILY AT BAY.

No matter what Lock initially said, ALL THE SHIPS WERE MISSING FROM THE DOCKS FOR THE REASON I EXPLAINED TO YOU EARLIER. If you can grasp it correctly, Zion's defenses are not well organized BUT THEY COULDN'T HAVE IT DIFFERENTLY.

  • @FPietros Why wouldn't they have extra EMPs available would be my counter-Question, why limit yourselves like that when you can be attacked at any time.?

  • @TheElectedKing The fact is that EMPs were only mounted on ships. If the ships are missing, the EMPs are missing. Where could they have extra EMPs available on? Could they built them above another structure? Well, no as it seems.

  • @FPietros But, again why are they only limiting themselves to just building them for ships and that's it. They must have thought at one point that the Comps would attack the city at full force, and they don't prepare? They don't stick at least one somewhere in that whole area just in case everything falls to shit. Lets just say they only build them for ships, why did they just conveniently run out of ships in the first place? They had several of them what happened to them?

  • @TheElectedKing

Again, they run out of ships due to the desperate off-guard attack planned by Lock at the end of the second film that was hijacked by Bane resulting in the ships' destruction by the machines.

And again, where could they have extra EMPs available on? Could they have built them above another structure? Could they have placed one at the centre of the external dock-dome?These are questions regarding their weaponry and defensive scheme organization. The movie does not say.

  • @FPietros Thats the whole point though, the Wachowski brothers made it stupid when the plot needed it too. They could have had extra EMPs built, but didn't making it so convenient that they had to have such a huge battle

  • @TheElectedKing Or is it that they gave an explanation for what happened in the plot but it didn't suffice to you. Or maybe they couldn't have had extra EMPs built because the premise was perhaps that their technology could only be mounted on ships. Speculations, speculations, speculations. It doesn't make any sense judging it this way.

  • @FPietros Whatever man to me it makes no sense that you can't have EMPs outside of ships, because they had to have built it outside of the ship at some point to put on the ship. The fact they can only be mounted just makes it even more confusing. They never give an answer during the movie, in fact the Reviewer even missed the fact they had no EMPs to begin with. Again they made everybody stupid just so it would fit the plot much like Lucas did in the Star Wars Prequels.

  • @TheElectedKing Again, speculations, speculations and more speculations on your behalf since you can't accept (or don't want to) the explanation that the film gave out for that previous incidence.

The premise of the EMP technology is that it can only be mounted on ships. It doesn't get more specific than that.

You 're whining about something that can't be explained further than it already is.

  • @FPietros But thats exactly my point, they don't explain it because the plot dictates they don't so they dumb down the characters so that it isn't explained. I'm not whining either, just stating the fact that it is stupid. I speculate because I have a brain and it wonders "why is it the way it is" I don't take whats given to me or not given(which is the point) and think well thats the way its gotta be theres no other explanation.

  • @TheElectedKing Your point is hitting on a solid wall yet if you 'had a brain' you 'd realize that your doubts are already answered by the movie's plot, and yet, you can't accept (or don't want to) the explanation that you were given.

All the other stuff you whine about is just speculation and your mere opinion about what you happen to find 'stupid' or not. You can't demand for the movie to give you answers on *why* you find a certain fact inside it as being stupid. That would be retarded.

  • @FPietros No see because I have a brain so I realize that the explanation they choose to give, when they really don't because you have to guess anyways, is unfeasable and stupid. Really man you've got insult me, I've already told you I'm not whining just pointing out truths that I see, and saying that I don't have a brain because I don't agree with you is shallow and childish to say the least.

  • Comment removed

  • @FPietros They had ships supposedly docked in the city, all of which are equipped with EMPs.

  • @FPietros

So, they re-called all of the ships for the defence, only to have one ship actually armed with something that can defend them adequately, not actually inside the city? Also, even if you can give me a list of what happened to EVERY single ship (which is impossible to know, as they never actually say how many there are), it is a sign of strategic retardedness that they didn't make any EMP's installed for the defence of Zion anyway.

  • @FPietros then what about the ones being used for cover fire?

  • i dont think thats what they mean when they say one positive and one native i think they met that teh positive and nagitive i think they ment they need to be egual in strengh if smith is just one lonely bunch of zeros and ones then neo will kick his ass out the matrix he need a 1000 counter parts to make it egual now how is anyone supostu win when they are egual in streangh is beyond me bu atleast get teh issue right

  • Since this was 2003, maybe the whole Zion battle was a vicious satire on the incompetency of the Bush Administration's strategic efforts in Iraq.

  • lol commander angryfuk

  • From what I remember they had no more EMPs (still, why not make some more?) Good points otherwise!

  • I have to cover this--the prophesy is that Neo would need her help, not that she would have to choose. Granted, it's still not clairvoyance, but seeing as the machines aren't in control of what's going on outside the Matrix, all she's got are useless observations that try to sound profound.

    She's a professional bullshitter.

  • Why didn't they just fire emps at the hole continuaoulsy like pouring hot water on ants. They all fall down DEAD!

  • dude i love your videos. I was thinking the same thing-why don't the mechs have shields of some sort? Haha

  • I love you dude! You made me laugh soo hard when you were talking about the energy weapons.

  • @confusedmatthew

Is this a review on a movie? Or is it a review on the philosophy within a fictional world? Come on, man, it's a movie. Made for entertainment. Not to answer all of life's questions. You're annoying and not that clever. I think these movies are pretty entertaining overall. And that's the purpose. The Wachowski's aren't philosophers. They're filmmakers. Meanwhile, they're multi-millionaires while you spend countless hours making videos about movies you don't like. Get a life.

  • @Kengberg84 If they're made for entertainment why do the characters spew random philisophical points? Listening to long words isn't something I'd do for entertainment.

  • @Kengberg84 And he has thousands of people who listen to what he says, while you can only get people to read what you say by attacking someone else.

Just because you like something doesn't mean he's stupid for not liking it. Seeing as both of these movies are nearly universally panned, if anyone is more correct, it is him.

  • @Kengberg84 If these movies were just made for JUST entertainment, they wouldn't try so hard to spout bullshit philosophy.

  • ok with the missle launcher part if they used the emps they would freaking die because none of there machines would work and this is seen as the ship returns and quote "saves the bridge"

  • yer, i must admit you've pointed out alot of flaws hahaha

  • I never thought about the stupidity of the mechs. The only reason they should have gatling guns is if the energy weapons (which as you said should've been their main weapon) were like the ones in the Star Wars universe and, after about 20 minutes of repeated use, had to cool down for 30-60 seconds, so that during that cool down period the mech pilots weren't defenseless.

  • What happened to his (Seraph) magic keys? ^_^

Bullets? Bullets? No energy weapons?? --__--

    Sigh, confusedmatthew you are hilarious.

  • The Wachowski brothers should watch these reviews and feel stupid about themselves.

  • @ChineseCommando They should look at Matts picture of them and ask "Why are we making kids cartoon faces?", one of thems dressed like a kid!

  • hahahah who delivers knifes to a knifethrower

    hahaha hilarious! epic epic

  • I don't see any problem with these people still having guns and bullets. It's 800 year old technology, so we won't necessarily have moved past it by 2199. Also, it might be that the guns are more practical because they are easy to produce and supply--similar to why you saw people using crossbows and longbows hundreds of years after guns were arrived on European battlefields.
