Question: so i never had lagg with my minecraft. and i didnt need to use any fps booster things and that kind of stuff. now i wanted to add my minecraft to steam and because of that i installed 32 bit (already had 64 bit) now whatever i do i lagg realy badly, i deleted 32 bit java and all that stuff and whatever i could do. but it just laggs me out hellish (normaly i have 100-150 fps. now i have like 10 -30 fps so its not normal) please answer, thanks :)
@zlmitchell hey man so i did everything in this video and it changed the ram usage but for some reason minecraft still crashes and java platform se binary still shows up and ideas!
@ujustwastedurtime you cannot dedicate all your ram to minecraft try dedicating only 3gb or 4gb to minecraft. or even 2 gb to start. then move up from there
so i got a new laptop recently and I was getting some crash errors with the 34-bit java installation, i installed 64-bit java ( using a 64-bit windows 7 installation ) and it works fine but i noticed my FPS went from like 100 to like 20-30..... what's up with that
@iitsRebel if your computer is Windows 32 bit with only 2GB of ram then you cannot expand the amount of ram. You need to buy more ram first for your computer. Seeing as a 32bit operating system can only use 3.2Gb of ram i would buy 4GB of RAM and suggest upgrading to 64bit OS.
can u make a video where u have java 32 bit and cant find out how to uninstall it in ure uninstall programmer please help i wont work and i installed java 64 bit and tried to find 32 bit but cant uninstall it really need ure help? Thanks
Did everything in the vid but when I click on minecraft it doesnt load but the windows alert sound comes on. Please help thanks . Great video by the way
You're the man. I've looked at like 5 other minecraft fixes, and your fix combined with one of the comments you helped them out with fixed my problem. I love this game but the frequent crashes were getting to be just too much. Thank you!
The Java website makes it really difficult to find the proper installer for 64-bit Java... It keeps giving me the 32-bit version, and therefore I have no Java folder in my Program Files directory (only in the x86). Can you elaborate on where you got the proper installer?
You should see under the download button this "Not the right operating system? See all Java downloads here. " And then click the " See all Java downloads here." And select whatever version you want/need
If your sound does not work after doing this trick, Load up minecraft, go to Options and turn sound and music on, for some odd reason this work around just simply turns the sound off ingame. You can easily turn it right back on.
@SomeViolentKid Make sure your start in is correct and that you have quotes around the locations of both your location of the javaw.exe and the location of the minecraft.exe
ok i got it to work but now i can't hear audio on MC :/
and i need java 64 to run on full capacity right? cuz im running on 32 and it only lets me go up to 2 GB and i have like 4 GB ram (im getting more soon) but anyways i wanna know how to put audio back on?
@Zabotage727 Make sure the target is correct from the template then your start in should be where your minecraft.exe is located minus the mincraft.exe. if you have more problems get with me and i can help you out further.
@TheXxxGeRmAnBoYxxx that means you are trying to allocate more ram to it than your computer can handle. So if you are trying -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M like in the video try -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M or even -Xmx1536M -Xms1536M.

i've been doing this for a while at xmx 700M cuz that's all the ram i can give it but this has only helped me stop out of memory errors I'm still crashing like crazy with 1.8
I am having the same problem. I am running Win Vista 32-bit w/ 4GB RAM. When I lower the amount of allocated memory from 2GB, I get varying results. From running to Could not create the Java virtual machine.
1024 Runs fine
1536 Goes directly to Minecraft Out Of Memory error. Never gets into the game.
@WwLCaucasianAsian How much ram do you have in your computer? if you only have a total of 4GB of ram in your computer you can only allocate a total or 2GB or so to the game so the code should look like this Target : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -jar "C:\Users\Chris\Desktop\Minecraft.exe"
