Question: so i never had lagg with my minecraft. and i didnt need to use any fps booster things and that kind of stuff. now i wanted to add my minecraft to steam and because of that i installed 32 bit (already had 64 bit) now whatever i do i lagg realy badly, i deleted 32 bit java and all that stuff and whatever i could do. but it just laggs me out hellish (normaly i have 100-150 fps. now i have like 10 -30 fps so its not normal) please answer, thanks :)

@ujustwastedurtime you cannot dedicate all your ram to minecraft try dedicating only 3gb or 4gb to minecraft. or even 2 gb to start. then move up from there

@iitsRebel if your computer is Windows 32 bit with only 2GB of ram then you cannot expand the amount of ram. You need to buy more ram first for your computer. Seeing as a 32bit operating system can only use 3.2Gb of ram i would buy 4GB of RAM and suggest upgrading to 64bit OS.

The Java website makes it really difficult to find the proper installer for 64-bit Java... It keeps giving me the 32-bit version, and therefore I have no Java folder in my Program Files directory (only in the x86). Can you elaborate on where you got the proper installer?

If your sound does not work after doing this trick, Load up minecraft, go to Options and turn sound and music on, for some odd reason this work around just simply turns the sound off ingame. You can easily turn it right back on.

@TheXxxGeRmAnBoYxxx that means you are trying to allocate more ram to it than your computer can handle. So if you are trying -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M like in the video try -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M or even -Xmx1536M -Xms1536M.

@zlmitchell I forgot to reply to this but I just wanted to say that I did get it working. All I had to do was install the 64bit Java. I was running 32bit and didn't realize it. :P

@WwLCaucasianAsian You are running 32bit Java, 32bit Java is your problem, please install 64bit java then you can run it with 4GB of ram otherwise your max is 2GB of ram.

@zlmitchell I figured it out. I was running the 32bit version of Java. So I installed the 64bit version and everything is working great now. :)
