I had a GSL-SE as my first car and i ended up rebuilding the motor and re-did most of the electricals, but it still had some problems. I would recommend the same thing, maybe not the electricals, but definitely worth re-building the engine, most owners of these treated them like a piston engine and so they've been left in bad condition. Plus, rebuilding these motors are probably the easiest thing you could do in an overhaul, not very many parts to worry about.
