I like the "mazzy star" influence. That slower style is very minimalist, emotional, & slower to progress than most artists are willing to do in the pop culture now. I went and listened to a bunch of other live performances & she does have excellent musical chops.

Everyone is crazy to call her the worst singer to be on SNL, especially when you have female and male artists who sing into a microphone that auto tunes and doctors there voice. With that said, you could just argue that she makes mediocre music and is a little on the pretentious side.
