Its so irritating to see battle report where someone doesn't know the rules for their own army. This holds especially true where the rules "forgotten" favor the the player directly. The Sanguinor is lacking the IC rule for a reason just like the Sanguinary Priest has the IC rule for a reason. Oh and dont even get me started on the turn 3 drop pod.

I noticed a few things that were done incorrectly. Firstly, the Sanguinor is not an independent character so it cannot join any squad - nor can any join it. Secondly, up to half of your drop pods (rounding up) must come in from reserves on the first turn. Finally, the Sanguinary Priests are independent characters so they must move into base contact in combat if possible on the charge and if not it has to on the pile in move. This means that it could be picked out in combat.

If you think Blood Angels are cheesy, you haven't seen fully kitted out cheddarwolves.  3x 5 man missile launcher squads that can split fire, 4 priests spamming jotww, and lots of other annoying bits. Blood Angels won this battle, but since rules were broken, they lose on a technicality :) (that's how my group of people play, If you make a mistake regarding the rules of a serious nature, you lose automatically, if you both screw up, it's a draw.)

It is like having landraiders that can go 24", disembark, kill everything because of your initiative, powerweapons, feel no pain, great armor saves, with an overpowered special character, then hop right back into your flying landraider and kill something else. grey knights will be very powerful too, but i think they will be more expensive (pointwise). i haven't really played wolfs yet, all i know is that necrons need an update. BAD.

@Skrakjaw7 Wow, not at all... First, our "flying landraiders" are AV 12, not 14. VERY different. Our initiative is the same as everybody else, except on furious charge. FNP is great, buy apothecaries. Overpowered special character: I assume you refer to the sanguinor. He isn't overpowered, simply because he costs SOOO much. I think he costs nearly as much as two full tac squads.

@Skrakjaw7 Compared to Necrons, just about everyone is overpowered right now. Yes, BA are a powerful army, but right now, they are not the most powerful army out there. The 2 most powerful armies in the game right now are Space Wolves and Imperial Guard, in that order according to most. Grey hunters are the best troops in the game, longfangs are lethal, thunderwolves are very powerful, that's why you see so many armies (chaos for exqample) proxying to be space wolves for the power.

The sanguinor actually can't join squads because he does not have the independent character special rule just to let you guys know. What I do to get round this is have either sanguinor or mephiston moving up behind a land raider so they either can't be seen or get cover.

While my first instinct was to gloat and point out that Dave gets beat the first time he plays a competent player, that's not really what happened here. Sanguinor is a one man squad; he can't join or be joined by any other squad, so you can't stick him in a unit of Sanguinary Guard. Despite what their name would have you believe, they're not there to act as the Sanguinor's guards.
