"The drag won't hold this one"? A good craftsman doesn't blame his tools. The drag will hold anything if it's set right and accompanied by good line and a good leader. There's no way that ray should have snapped you off in 7 minutes. At least you found out your set-up was weak before you sunk into a 30lb striper.
