  • Hah! It says Napalm Death on the wall in the bathroom, in this video. Awesome!!!

  • きっ、綺麗すぎる‼ 右手の動きにも無駄がない! 憧れるわ~

  • sweetness!!

  • That is just pure WOW!

  • finally see him play it live!!

  • fake eruption.

  • @tonygtr77 Your a clown.......Nuno Bettencourt will smoke EVH!!

  • @cobretti1174 You must to say when. It´s the main question.. You want me to believe that Nuno and Rihanna will smoke EVH and the role world?

  • @tonygtr77 No...not Rhianna, although she is talented in her own way. Nuno Bettencourt IS one of the best to ever play guitar. With that said...there are MANY great guitarists in the world. EVH is one of them, but not on same level as Nuno. He is a very cool person as well, i have met him before very down to earth.

  • All the people who say this is not hard.... Remember that your talking about it in a post on youtube... Nino is on Stage doing what you can only dream of doing.... You don't get much preps for Just writing on you tube... Being on the video that people are talking about... now that's worth something.

  • EARGASM!

  • Dragon Saber. NES. Can't deny it.

  • Wow, this is the same noise my ass makes on the toilet.

  • Legends dont give out stuff like How Tha F u do that :-P

  • @almiester1234- dude your retarded, a delay pedal doesn't just magically play notes that you didn't, it plays it after you play, so all it's doing is making the sound fuller and echoing. Nxt time you post something make sure you know what your talking about.

  • @rokr4u23 i reckon he is playing quavers half the time.

  • k look all u ppl who say its not as hard as it sounds listen yea so wht he has the delay pedal id love to see any of you play this so just sit back and enjoy the beautiful piece of work this guy has made for us :)

  • Not the most difficult solo but fuck i wouldnt be able to play it as fast and as clean as he does it.

  • @metallica606 I bet I can take a better shit then he can though

  • @metallica606 but it was well composed

  • Is that solo after Flight Of The Bumblebee an actual solo or something he made up on the spot?

  • @Omega1987 That one is his piece called Bumblebee (Crash Landing) from the "Guitars That Rule the World" compilation album.

  • @Omega1987 But I like that you have faith that he could make it up on the spot. Being the guitar genius that he is, it wouldn't have surprised me.

  • @tortured74

Well it's not the most demanding solo. I've sat for ages listening to it and picked out most of it, but I must have a look at this compilation album, see if it's on it. ;P

  • It is a bad solo piece, although it is impressive.

  • I think this is the most insane guitar solo ever !!!!!! I miss the days when musicians were masters of there instrument \m/

  • the 7 people who disliked it were extremely jealous

  • I like this sound ! just beautiful

  • sorry to shit on yalls parades but hes using a delay pedal. meaning hes playing half the notes

  • @almiester1234 I think that's common knowledge.

  • fuck im sweating just watching it

  • @bigrandom1989

actually he is playing all the notes, they just don't make a sound the instant he strikes them.

  • He's playing with delay, which is how he's getting so many notes. He's only playing every other note at the beginning.

  • @CTHimes yes i agree, it's not so difficult because the delay make the half work (each pointed eight), so he's only plaiyng the eights. But it sounds great

And yes he is a monster player how play much more difficult stuff like this. One of my favourite players

  • what...the fuck.

    this is RIDICULOUS!!!

  • wait, i cant tell if he's picking every single note or if thats just the snare making that noise...

  • O.O

  • Jason Becker, Nuno Bettencourt and Paul gilbert. My top 3....... For fucking sure

  • 1:04 a mistake

  • @alonsomatematico probably multiple mistakes, or he has superpowers

  • Eddie Van Who?

  • in this years he was the best of them all

  • @ZeChiko He Still Is!!!!!!!!!

  • without doubt absolutely amazing!

  • fucking genius!

  • he should totally randomly bust that out in the middle of one of the rihanna concerts....throw the crowd right off

  • @Adam080 I wonder if he does any solos... I'd consider going to one of her/their shows if he adds a lot to the songs.

  • The speed picking in the start is painfully borring... The last part is soulfull and fantastic... Im thinking VAI...

  • im really surprised that nuno is not on any greatest guitarist list

  • beautiful

  • This never gets old!!! I have been listening to this since 1994 and to finally see video of it, I"m in awe. Huge Nuno fan for YEARS! He was my first guitar love and he still is to this day. I'm a HUGE John Mayer fan and he can do no wrong in my eyes, but NUNO is still the BEST

  • Mayer can do nothing wrong? What about Battle Studies?

  • One of the best albums of his career :-)

  • @annml36 absolutely not.

  • @Onelife2liv13 i think it was more of a figure of speach ;)

  • vai was his teacher

  • steve vai + eddie van halen = nuno

  • im not hearing the vai

  • @Fendershred50 your not hearing vai because eddie is playing too loud

  • lol 0:53=1:09 sounds like zelda fairy theme

  • nuno is badass

  • what's the name of the last song he plays?

  • it's the Bumble bee (crash landing) :)

  • The delay must be set to 218 milliseconds.. if the tempo is 200 bpm. Mix 50% and feedback 0%.

  • Nobody can play on the guitar like Nuno does. He is so emotional and full of pasion... It's like there's nothing exist for him.. and his play always sound like the record on their album! FANTASTIC!

    P.S: and he is a beautiful guy:P

  • He could beat vai and satriani

  • Of course he could:D he's the best..

  • No, really? you´re kidding...

i think that there are a lot of annonimum guys whom can beat them...but they are not Nuno...maybe Joe...but...no.

  • of course! one delay well set

  • what is his pedal set to? I have a digitech hardwire Delay pedal and its pretty nice but i just got it and i don't know what to set it to...

  • hmmm.. i like

  • Absolutely brilliant!! Massive Nuno fan!!!

  • sick!!!

  • FUCK U BITCH NUNO WILL KICK UR ASS

  • PROVE IT!!

  • FAKE??? well, its not. I`m 15 and I can play it.

  • There is something called a delay pedal...

  • how is this fake?

    its called

    ALOT of delay

look at big sur moon by buckethead...thats how he does it

  • Comment removed

  • some of the comments here are really hilarious... metal is all about this and that, nuno is god-like to be god-like practice 5 hours... true but funny...

im just surprised that no one here has made referrals to bukcethead's big sur moon and paul gilberts echo song

  • dooops somebody already did refer to pg's echo song page 9 or 10 i think

  • simply the best...

  • It's a quote from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. When Ferris threatens Cameron with ending their friendship unless he drives to his house to pick him up. Great great movie.

  • Anybody know the tempo to this song?

  • not that hard he's using a delay, he's not playing as many notes as you hear ;)

  • well he actually is playing all the notes you hear he just doesnt play them that fast

  • yeah what I mean is that you hear twice as many notes as he's really playing, when he plays 1 1 1 you hear 111111

  • It's about 240bps with a 200ms delay. it's not as hard as it sounds but it's still hard to play it as cleanly as Nuno does without breaking a sweat :)

  • the camera/lighting isn't very good, so i may have to disagree if he's only picking every third note or so, which is what i can see from this video. however, i may agree if it isn't delay filling in the remaining notes between those picked ones, and if he's actually using legato

  • @hawkeye1769 It isn't particularly hard...although using a delay can be quite challenging. I'd rate the difficulty as similar to playing the original flight....

  • @hawkeye1769 Its the other way around- about 200bpm tempo and 225ms delay. And its bpm not bps :) Delay plays a note 3/16th notes later than the picked note- for this song the forumula to go from BPM on your metronome to the required delay to match is:

    (15 / BPM) * 3000 = delay time in ms

  • @hawkeye1769 Please upload your rendition of this 'not as hard as it sounds' jam.

    .

  • OMG.........that one's a real master..:P

  • 204 ms delay 99

but...how to get that sound istaed?? :(

  • do you know where to download the song at lest

  • 1:51 onwards reminded me of Ferris Bueller's day off (the music when Cameron is in bed.)

    ....Let my Cameron go.....

  • "He'll keep callin' me, he'll keep callin' me...th, this is stupid, I'll go. I'll go. I'll go.....I'll go!......AHHHHHH *honking horn, pressing gas*!!!!

  • It's funny...when this FIRST came out, some friends of mine (decent players, too) swore up and down that the master tracks were ramped up because "no one plays that fast". I think this puts that flawed theory to rest. So, anyone want to buy a guitar collection? Will trade for a decent Kazoo!

  • Technically, he's not really playing that fast. He's using a fast delay ( about 200 miliseconds) to fill in the notes. It's still VERY hard to do at this speed and shows that he's a master. Van Halen used the same idea on 'Cathedral' - but he also added a volume swell.

  • Yep...the delay is obvious, but it isn't dominant. I should have clarified my comment though..my bad. I meant to speak of the entire album and Nuno's ability to duplicate live what he does in the studio. That's one of the great things about Extreme. They limit the studio tricks so they can keep the live performances as true to the studio recordings as possible. Peace!

  • when you tap you can play pretty fast because both hands are doing the same thing, as opposed to one hand fretting and another strumming.

  • Yeah Santom, but I was more referring to the picking part. There are other factors that make it sound fast as well. One being the tinny/fast percussion in the background plus he's double or triple picking a lot of notes. I slowed the track down to half speed on my studio software and you can hear it. Doesn't matter though, Nuno's still the man! LOL ..Rock on Santom!

  • bumble bee (crash landing) - nuno bettencourt on 1:20. Guitar World Magazine release "guitars that rule the wolrd". All tracks are cool. Thank goodness i have this cd.

  • At 1:44

    Guitar orgasm right there

That part gives me the chills

  • i agree with you.

I think that nuno is making love with his guitar at that moment.

    What a wonderful solo !!!

  • Did he composed that song?

  • LOL

  • its a kind of parody for the classical piece of Rimskij-Korsakow

but yeah, nuno kinda composed this

  • if perfection banged a guitar this is what it would sound like.

  • This is one great piece,!!

    Go Nuno!!

  • is this on any of his albums?

  • nice

  • NAPALM DEATH

  • its like 200 ms its very little ive tried it before

  • This is one awesome vid.

  • Amazing!!! He combined his 'Flight of the wounded bumblebee' with his 'Crash of the wounded bubmlebee'...WAOW!!!

  • genius ...

  • When he dies, I want his fingers.

    Amazing.

  • LOL

  • how often have i heard this peace? don´t know, but it still leaves me with my mouth wide open. simply unbelievable.

  • Not a patch on Battens show piece.

  • wow.

  • I suppose that every guitar player out there knows that he's doing the opoening stuf with a delay. It's very impressive though

  • yeah.. his picking time and the delay..

  • How many fingers he got??? Lol!

  • .I. .CAN'T. .BELIEVE.

  • NUNO IS HE-MAN!

  • woah.....

  • I love Flight of the wounded bumblebee. I'm not really a shred guy, but this...

  • What's the song he's playing after flight of the wounded bumblebee? I know I heard it before..

  • He-man woman hater

  • No, I mean in this video, that melody his playing.

  • its called "crash landing" i think

  • lol i can name quite a few...michael angelo batio, steve vai, van halen, yngwie malmsteen, satriani (if u count him as metal) dimebag, zakk wlyde, doug aldrich, cc devile (although he is a raving homosexual) slayer guitarist (cnt remember his name), herman li and sam tottman of dragonforce, dudes the list goes on, theyre all off the top of my head. nuno is good, but not the best or god like in ability lol. no one is god like, just a lot of practice time lol

  • haha

i dont think anyone of them is a better Metal guitarist than Nuno...maybe satriani or van halen, but both are not metal..

seems u like speed and technique...wel...i dont consider that so important...

Nuno has a nice tecnique and speed but i prefer his solo carrer...where he explores a more funky sound and play very simple but great stuff.

anyway if u want some better metal gutiarits (IMO) look for marty friedman or jake e. lee, both dont have the best technique but they are REAL players

  • forgot about friedman...yeh i dont like funk at all lol, but all the players i mentioned are better metal players, all faster and beta technique, which is wat metal is all about. nuno is good but not the best is all im saying, and this song isn't hard.

  • bah! metal is not about speed and technique...marty for example can sweep but he never does...nuno is a good example than technique is no so important, maybe not with extreme but is s with population 1

  • steve vai neats bnoth satriani and van halen

  • your sir are a tool

  • lol...its not very hard to read some already created tab...if you know what i mean

  • yer but sight reaidn si where u sit there, havnt listened to it before, just play it. i herd the track once and then played it. sum guy was syaing its amazingly hard it rele isnt that difficult is what i was syaing. nuno is an amazing player but there are many many many players beta than him is all im saying, and u dont have to be a god to play like him either. 5 hours a day is about right though lol

  • i dont think there are MANY better guitarists if we're talking bout metal....i can count them with my fingers

  • there or some bteer guitarists but not that many, if u can name some

  • Hear that? That there is the very precise sound of your just squashed ambition. You and I, and probably 99.9999 pc of people encountering this post, will never, ever be able to play like that. My advice? Take up cricket.

  • thats bull nuno is human just like all of us all he did was practice

  • hahah...true...hes human...but he needed to practice like a god to get that technique...

  • and if you want to be a god you practice at least 5 hours a day

  • and he practiced it very well. Go Nuno :D

  • Yeah, but practice building on an already extant natural talent, rather than just flog the dead chaval of juvenile wishful thinking.

  • Sorry, should be cheval shouldn't it? Apologies France, though I suspect any attempt to perfect my french will probably be about as effective as the hitherto efforts with a Washburn..ha!

  • gayest sport ever its just a bunch of immigrants at the park plaing it,thats all it is

  • omg

    omg!!

  • 0:53 to 1:13 OMG AWESOME 12 stars out of 5

  • you gotta admit it sounds like zelda fairy fountain theme though

  • @Whamesl0l You mean Zelda fairy fountain theme sounds like this ;)

This was 1991, I'm pretty sure that Zelda came out after this

  • @Fendershred50 1986? sure thing ^_^, the "link to the past" was 1991, the first zelda was in the 80's

  • @Whamesl0l Oh wow, I didn't know that, I guess cause the only ones I'm familiar with are Ocarina of Time and onwards

  • Comment removed

  • @Whamesl0l omg, they copied nuno!!!

  • how do you get that tone from 2:20

  • Lot of delay and boost your mids maby move your pickup selector to the neck pickup

  • is he sweeppicking from 0:14 to 0:34? 0o

  • no.. alternate picking with palm mute.

sweep picking (with hammer-ons) would create a big mess the delay

  • I didn't mean hes doing hammer ons, to me it just looks as if he does downstroke - Upstroke on the E-string, then upsweep to the B-string, downsweep on E, upsweep on B, so he picks two notes per string as if he was doing alternate picking, but sweeping when he changes the string.

  • That's outside picking

  • No just altinate picking

  • Incredible timing! HARDCORE! That's all there is to it!

  • hlyfkinshit

    =0

  • master
