you have to cover cost and materials for the product to have some produced from ground 0 is expensive. Do you know anything about business? there in the market to make money, If cost me $1,000 to build each one Im not gonna sell it for $600

and lose $400 on each one. I might lower the price once i hit my breaking point.

Wow... you think you can just drop the price of something from $2,000 to $600? You can't, the cost to manufacture it is too much you'd loose money. Also, UMPCs are VERY unpopular, so selling a lot is never possible.

I have the sony vaio ux280p, I just use a 16GB memory stick that I bought off ebay. Transfer the contents of the cd to the memory stick, then stick it in the ux280p. Another solution is, when the UX is in the dock, the dock has a firewire port. Just get a firewire cable and hook it up from the UX dock to your desktop. From there you can use your desktop's dvd drive to install whatever you need.

Well the thing that sucks about it. Not much games could go on it. It's hard to install Programs. There's Not Setup. You have to put in the files manually. But I like the Desktop Featurets But thats all you could do on it?. Windows Is better. But Windows Vista is okay but they made it cause of the Look of it. (Which is fine) They fixed it up on Windows VISTA the RAM dosen't take up much. But it sucks cause you have to have Quad Cores and etc.Linux in the Middle, Vista is Half to the top.

Same way you'd put pc games on it. You'd use external Cd/DVD drive or Thumbs. Not too difficult. It's on youtube.

It really looks nice but nobody trust Windows Vista anymore. Even Sony has created on their website a hotline to downgrade to Windows XP Pro. If Sony could make this with Intel Core it should be possible to use Leopard, awesome!!!

I JUST got one of these babies today, and oh man the vista performance is TERRIBLE on its shitty 1GB RAM, single-core CPU, and integrated video. So I formatted and installed XP corp edtion Sp2 on it:) Now it's running like a dream.
