@estoyaqui85 the thing is that video is not titled "before reaching 320 km/h" but "TGV Est filmed on the classic line before the High Speed Line became in service" ! All the trains from Paris to the east of France were classic trains with an electric locomotive and usual coaches.
But after the classic trains and before the opening of the HSL, SNCF made all classic trains replaced by TGV trains... ON CLASSIC LINES !
@gabzos2 the reason was essentially for grinding / endurance. the other thing is there were no more classic trains, TGV are more expensive, either they are faster or not, like in this video ^^

ahhh ok i never knew that. how long was that situation? i heard the est hsl was inaugurated in 2007?
estoyaqui85 1 year ago
@estoyaqui85 TGV trains started to run on the classic line in June 2006 the 25th, and the east HSL opened in June 2007 the 10th
I'm not sure that all classic trains were replaced in this time lap, it seems that only concerned Paris-Metz-Luxembourg trains.
