Do you shave till there is no more stubble on your head or just kinda shave it and leave some stubble. I find that when I shave till ALL my stubble is gone I have extreme razor burn. was just curious as I do not know anyone else my age (22) going bald to reference with.
@Bouncer56 shave in the shower dude, don't go against the grain, go with it. Don't go over an area more than once and don't push/use force, just glide over. I use a generic bodywash very watered down, works well when I shave every other day. Though I notice if I've left it grow for a week, then I tend to get that good ol razor burn.

The crown is almost bald and the front of my hairline is about 1/3 of the way back on top of my head. I have taken my hair down to no guard before and liked it, but I just can't seem to get over the nerves of taking it all off. I don't really know why. Any advice on getting over the nerves?

Took the step yesterday and went from about 2 inches of hair to no guard. i think it looks way better but still can't get the guts to shave it all off. Not sure why it seems like such a big step. Great video! I'm a fan of the Fusion 5 blade razor as well for my head. The back of my neck is the worst for me, and like you, behind my ears! I live in Japan, and there are AMAZING barbers here (tokoya-san) that do the straight blade razor, its a treat I do once in a while, with the hot towels and all the great Japanese type massage in the mean time! You really have a quick technique! It takes me a while (like 20 minutes) to shave my head, but perhaps it's due to thicker hair and being much more careful not to nick myself. I use a Mach 3 razor, and I've noticed that the blades become dull very fast. Do you use a new cartridge every shave, or do you have a method to keep them sharp longer?
I use a total of 4 razors a year to shave my head and face. I ensure that the razor is completely clean and dry when I am done shaving. If you have thicker hair I am sure you will be going through them more frequently.
Man... I'm a HeadBlade user... I'm new too... But what's the name/model of the razor you use? Just the thought of using razor on head makers me afraid of bleeding/cuts...
You know at first (two months or so) no matter what I did, I would find a way to nick my head and bleed like there was no tomorrow. Shaving your head is a lot like shaving your face in that with time your skin adjust to the irritation of the razor blades.
I use the Gillette Fusion razor with the Head Blade shaving cream.
Make sure when you do shave, to take it slow and dont apply too much pressure. When you get comfortable with it you can speed it up.

I would only put moisturizer on your head if it is dry. I recommend the HEAD LUBE MATTE LOTION. It leaves your grape moist and soft yet not all shiny and greasy.

I guess that the push shaver product is the headb**** which I was thinking of purchasing but, seeing your video, I think that I will stay with the technique that you use. I am not nearly so good at it as you though. BTW I shave in the shower with soap because it is quicker.
I am not a fan of the HB, but do like their shaving cream line. If I could suggest using conditioner vice soap when you shave in the shower, because soap might start to irritate your head after awhile. If not, just keep on keeping on. Thanks for the post, and was thinking about making some different videos of shaving using a different product every week. Maybe a different razor, shaving cream, methods, or after-shaves? I have been shaving my head on and off for quite a while, with soap, and my dome seems to be okay with soap perhaps just because it is used to it. I like the idea of a "conditioner" though. It is a long time since I used conditioner. Sun cream would also be a good idea.
Perhaps you could do a video on the products you use to keep your dome in such good condition. Also shots from the back or above too would be helpful. I am still missing bits when I shave the back.

@chaucer555 The way to get up the nerver is to cut shorter and shorter. If you have hair on top then clippers at a few mm will probably give you a nice cut.
You may consider purchasing some clippers. They are about 50USD I guess. I would not see shaved as a goal, just as another okay place to be when the time is right. I stayed at 2 or 3mm for years.
Hey man....I have (had) dark hair, so when I shave my head, you can see the outline of my receding hairline. Any tips to give me to help me shave closer so you can't see my hairline at all? you're head looks smooth all over and you can't even see your hairline after you're done.
This look suits you really well! Great job. I've been shaving my head for about 5 years when I started thinning, and don't have nearly as nice a dome as you.
Sunblock or a hat is a must if you have an exposed dome. You will notice older men, or guys that spend a lot of time in the sun will develop sun spots or freckles on the places they lack hair. So guess a good thing to go by, if you are in the sun for more than 10 minutes then go ahead and apply some good SPF containing UVA and UVB protection. Hope this helps, and good shaving!

@davidharry yes use gillette fusion hydro gel its the provide best lubrication for your head in my opinion, been shaving for 2 years, as for razor any good 3 blader will do make sure as your shaving to use your other hand to feel for any missed spots to get it all smooth, then moisturizer NOT aftershave finally take a shower and exfoliate your head it scrub it lightly with some sort of scrubbing implement or you'll get lots of flakes eeww, then pat dry after shower and check out slybaldguys
I agree with not touching it if you have the luxury of a full head of hair, I shaved my head when I had a lot of hair just for fun and now I've lost it, it feels like a waste of good hair time :( If baldness is in the family gene NEVER take your hair for granted because it will creep up on you soon enough.
