Aha, yes, you are right, but here in my country the price of one 12" 1200W is 150 dollars, the same as the Pioneer. And with this price i can buy 2 xplods 10", the drivers and the box installed. Becouse of this i wanted to know if the sound that they have is good.. Well thanks for asking!!

@Cchichiloo Your friend is ripping you off because hes sellin you 2 used subs for the price of 2 new subs. I like my Sony subwoofers just fine but the 1200w 12' Sony's are $70 brand new at Walmart, thats $140 for 2 if youre keeping score. Unless your friend bought them & nvr ever used them or had em out of the box he should drop the price.

I actually got two of these for free cuz my friend was throwing em out. . .i was really surprised by how good they hit. Bass isnt earth shattering but its really clean and consistent. I think these older ones are better than the new ones.

Well, the VC has been going out for a while now. When I got it it read 4ohms perfect. But it slowly starting going down. Its final days were in my boats T-Line off the RF 501bd. When I put it in it read 2.7ohms. When I pulled it out, it read smelly ohms. Haha

I only use them if they are free. They are just cheap cheap cheap, through and through. Their plastic cones sound terrible, weak motor structure, poor voice coils, shitty spiders. There is nothing good about a sony woofer. Their price isn't even good for what you get.

Definately do DC, Rusty makes some great subs. Almost bought a lvl 5 before I found my GZ Plutonium. FI is amazing too. Good luck!

fuck DC and FI man, recent tests have shown that cascade designs has better sound quality and higher SPL.

Link to results of these tests? Anyway, I know soemone running two of the omega 18"s. He likes them but was gonna sell them to join team T3, but didn't wanna wait a year for the unicorn. They wang pretty good too. Nuthin wrong with the omegas, wouldn't say they're better than DC though.

Omega out performed them on the same wattage for SPL and SQ. DD is meant for world record 25k burps, FI is for the average ground pounder. and T3.... their subs just look like mutants.... huge magnet on a mean ass looking sub. With the same wattage they beat out most companies.

Again, where are these test results. I doubt there's anyone whose used an omega in an SQ car so how would they compare them. And the only DD that can handle stupid power like that is a DDz. Your not comparing apples to apples. Omegas are pretty good, but FI and DC offer many more options. Depends what you want.

Most tests we do here in Washington are just for fun. If you were on more forums you would be suprised how many people are selling their FI's and getting Omega's now. Either way im going to be running a custom OZ 18" here in a month off of my F2500D. So i dont have to worry about other brands either way =)

My cousin had a pair of the old round xplods and they lasted for 4 years before they finally died of overuse. A friend of mine has had his pentagon sony xplods for about 2 and they're starting to die already. But they sound damn good for dying subs. Of course, he's got the right amp, and built the box to the sub's specifications. A good box, and amp combo can make or break a sub. I prefer to make my boxes rather than buy some cookie cutter box. Not all subs operate the same in the same box.

Wow!, a whole 30 seconds. You must have had a good one. Sony needs to get rid of the plastic cones on their subs if they want to stay in business. Every Sony sub I've had the misfortune to install resonates at around 80 hertz. WTF! The cone should not resonate at all. Even the new one's have that problem. I'll never own one...oh wait...SHIT! Anyone wanna buy a sony sub, quickly.

That's not the point. The sub still reproduces that freq and sounds awful. I set the filter below that on the amp, it just lessens the annoying resonance, it doesn't get rid of it. Their subs just suck, period.

Sure, but it'll be a few days. It's not a bad sub, I've certainly heard worse. I guess I'm not a sony fan is all. I plan to sell this sub as a package. The sub, ported box, and a 300 watt dual amplifier (dual cover and plexiglass cover) probably for $100 shipped.

i wont go SQ till i'm 80..SPL all day everyday....does your right ear hurt? lol mine does...i only got 2 old old sonys 800 each..but they pick up down to 22hz...and my 3000watt doesn't burn them off my alpine....they get warm tho.. but havn't gave out yet ..i wish they would ...i wanna try the re audio 12s

what "3000w" amp do you have? when they get warm that means that your either clipping them, or overpowering them.

look into Audioque HDC's and Fi BTL's. both are great for SPL, and the price is hella cheap for the performance you get.
