  • Cool, I like it, I do have many hidden weapons throughout my house. always be prepared.

  • Ok....so I don't expect an answer form Dean, So I ask you.... what if the "thief" simply drew the sword from it's sheath and stabbed the samurai? Instead of pulling the whole sword by the saya, and alerting the sleeping samurai, but instead drew the sword, stabbed the samurai, then pulled the weapons off the corpse.

  • @germanninja101 - Thanks for the post! Yes there are many difference variations to every situation. If you practice the arts you know that "kata" is just a strategy, philosophy or principal. You have to take those principals and apply them. To be good, you need to do "henka" or variations. That is why you see us to always do many different variations or "henka". Yes the ninja also could have a knife and cut the rope, many different things could happen, that is why we train! :)

  • @BudoRyuNinjutsuDojo

    Thank you for your response.

  • Thanks for the post, great Video Sensei!

  • This was a great video, loved the translation, love that you said where it came from. LOVE that you show pics of the correct layout @ 2:33 as well as a pic of a henka layout @ 2:37. Love the 1st waza to show the sword and really liked waza #2 when you stated that it was a henka or variation of the original technique. GREAT JOB! *****

  • Would the Shinobi not just kill the samurai or even just cut the sting before taking it?

  • @DarrkLotus ----- I will agree that seems like the most obvious and easiest way for the shinobi to take the sword, but this is a technique that comes from the gunpo Jiyoshu, and we were simply recreating that kata. I do agree though, a simple knife attack before the take or to cut the rope attached to the sword are simple "HENAK" or variations of this kata.

  • @BudoRyuNinjutsuDojo Could you tell me the main differences between Bujinkan Ninjutsu and Budo Ryu Ninjutsu? Ive been wondering because i have started to train Bujinkan.

  • @DarrkLotus - Thanks for the question, it is probably better that you ask your school what the difference is as there are 2 sides to every story and if you are on that side, you will want to know their view.

  • @DarrkLotus ok thanks :)

  • @DarrkLotus You also have to take in count how smart or how stupid the thief is and well he is train. How well train the samurai was or if he had any brains. Just because someone a thief doesn't mean they are good at stealing. Just because you think someone is sleeping, doesn't mean they can't kill you. Maybe the samurai wasn't really sleeping, and was sleeping with his eyes open. Some people do that. And some people get use to not really sleeping. So it depends on the scenario.

  • @DarrkLotus In reality one doesn't really know the person they are up against. Reason why one shouldn't get overly cocky about one's fighting ability. There's always someone better than you in the world.

  • The Nija are Assassin .. I think they have there own swords .. But !...

This is how I keep my wife from taking My Wallet !

  • @MrMicraphone Ninjas being assassins was never proven even though that is the usual thought to come to mind when you think of ninjas. Its movies like "Ninja Hunter" and others that give historical ninjutsu a bad name. In the society that we're in, your called a bad ass for knowing tae kwon do and a nerd for knowing ninjutsu. Some people even believe today that ninjas werent real...

  • @BudoScience - I agree with the age of sport fighting, people that do sports are looked highly upon and the people that train for a specific set of skills and a way of life, is looked down upon.

  • Great Video, but should'nt the cord that ties the two swords be placed under the samuri?

  • @j2091957 - Thanks for the post! The kata is teaching the principal, that when the thief pulls the sword, you feel it and you respond. So string under or over not for sure that it really matters as far as application goes. As long as we clearly state the correct translation (which we did) and give you all ideas for all of you to apply them, I think that is the most important.
