It spins the wrong way. The starboard wing separates, but the subsequent rotation is in the wrong direction. That gives it away fairly early on. Other than that, good fun video well made if you don't take it seriously!

I guess to say whether it is a "good fake" or not is a matter of personal opinion. I do know when this video first came out it fooled 90% of the people and now that it has been analyzed & discovered it is easy to say its an "Obvious Fake"... Its always easier to make those judgment calls after the fact. Even today it still fools people.

I have to admit at first it had me fooled. I watch the air races on TV with the host Goldberg (same guy as announcing the UFC) and I seen what these planes could do so it didn't surprise me to much they can fly like this.
