@5191keith I'm talking about engine performance, 4 valve engines can have volumetric efficiencies near 140%, these engines only get to around 120%. 4 valve engines can also have BMEP ratings a bit higher than these while running lower octane fuel. Also, the 4 valve engines I'm talking about are production based engines with heads and blocks that were produced specifically for mass production, Pro Stock engines are produced as purpose built race engines. A 4 valve 8.2 liter engine would own ProS.
@idontcare80 your not going to get a 4 valve enfgine to rev this high them valves will blow aprt duhhh why do you think they dont run them you dont feel they have the lasets best technology then go produce a 4 valce cylynder head and throw it on a 500 cid 1000hp checvy and see what i mean they wont last period
@zr1zora What? There are 4 valve engines that spin up to 20,000 rpm, these only rev to 9,500! The only reason these engines don't have 4 valve heads is because the rules don't allow them to.
can anybody help me or give me tips on how to tune my pro stock on nhra countdown to the championsip game i wanna make my car go faster i dont know how to really tune it and sitting changing things dont help cus i dont know wat im doin
@idontcare80 I'd like to see what a 3.0 would do if it were naturally aspirated and didn't have turbos with 38 psi of boost. I think we both know the answer to that one.
@daroche1 I was trying to point out that you can't really compare the two engines. One uses displacement to make power, the other uses forced induction. Just keep in mind that if a 4 valve engine were to be made the same size and use the same fuel, a Pro Stock engine wouldn't look like much at all. These engines perform very well for what they are, but they don't have anything on 4 valve engines.
They make way more than 1000hp

@5191keith, yah i know just the originals aren't for some reason
MrIplaythetrumpet 4 months ago
they are kind of supercharged . the hood scoop is ramming air into the motor at 200 mph

my favorite pro stock, super stock and stock eliminator they dont need friggin turbos to fly high or n20 or superchargers only narturally inspried

if only they were supercharged.

And they're running that hard with no turbos, no blowers, and no bottles. I'd like to see a Supra try and run that hard naturally aspirated.

@daroche1 Not really knocking what these cars can do, but I'd like to see a Pro Stock car run these times with a 3.0 liter engine.
