is it true that when the tungsten touches the work piece you get a shock from current? if so is it a good kick or mild... good video thanx for showing
I am not sure on the model number but it is a EQC Executive V HTLS. I think they are cheaper now but when my boss bought it for me it was like $340 its bad ass. If i ever get another lid it will be a Jackson Nexgen.
A few pointers and not negative comments. You should dwell over your weld after putting out the arc. NEVER remove immediately. Give the metal a chance to neutralize under the Argon field. Maybe 3-5 seconds.
This is DC. Its stainless steel. Im not using a pulse setting. Im controlling the current on the foot pedal. This precision tig does not have the pulsing option.
Great video... try slowing down man.. welding fast is not good.. being proficient is... Keep your filler rod in the gas to cool down too... contaminated rod will fail x-ray as well as dipping the tungsten. try using a #5cup. keep up the good work
Hi, you might want to hold your torch gas at the end of the weld to keep coverage over the heat zone. Also try not to stick your tungsten into your weld pool, if that were an xray weld you just failed, extend your tungsten a bit in tight spaces.

I don't know much at all about welding. But I see very little if any smoke during this weld. Why?

Are you welding in DC or AC? I would assume DC because it doesnt look like you are welding aluminum. Pulse setting?
