No, that's not a beast at all I'm afraid. You won't be playing games like this or any other games with a minimum/recommended specification for a DUAL-CORE CPU. That EXcludes any and all Pentium 4-class CPU's and any AMD CPU's under the X2/64/Athlon II lines. I'm only basing this in reference to what you quote: "Pentium 4 3.8ghz". It doesn't matter how fast your single core is, speed means nothing w/o architect. It's like having an 3terahert GPU without Shadermodel support.

ACtually, disregard my comment. I see you apparently play this game smoothly with your 3.8 P4 which is indeed a high clock. My point was that others should consider upgrading to more efficient dual-core CPU's. Single-core is getting obsolete. They producer far more heat and lack instruction sets of newer models. Most NEW games are optimized for multi-cores now potentially rendering a single-core CPU's raw power obsolete to utilize fully in applications.

You do realise your computer takes as much power if not more to run as an i7 2600k with hd 5770. You are basically wasting electricity for no reason. Even if you got a core i3 with 2gb ram and hd 6770 you will be able to play all games at 1280x720 at least at 60fps on high. Will cost you £200 and you will have a computer that takes 50% less power consumption to run. In the long run you will save more in electricity bills than the cost of your computer to your basic p4 3850 pc.

no some P4 has hyperthreading technology it means it has a same function like DualCore like read with multiple process like DualCore, you can see other video out there with P4 on awesome settings and FPS! with High end graphic card which higher or stronger graphic card can make it P4 bottlenecked or you'll still lagging..

I know what HT is. And its not a Dual Core, nor does it act like one. It only... How should I say... Slighlty boosts the CPU if its at 100% peak. For example it slightly "overclocks" it for a second of two when its needed. :)

i have exactly the same processor and graphiccard like u but when ur racing against 5 opponnents u dont have much lagg... the more u add the more lagg u will have, its unplayable with 15 opponents, perhaps it is on low but low graphics look so shitty -.-
