  • I see that blue ZR-1 all the time. I live about 10-15 minutes from the Corvette plant, so ZR-1's aren't really new to me. Good job finding that many in one place though.

  • they just told you that to buy the car, get suckered son

  • We all know before production of the Chevrolet Corvette went to BG Ky there were built in Flint, Michigan. Well at least we still produce the Chevy and GMC Heavy Duty truck here. Birth place of General Motors is almost dead now from them pulling out. Shutting down plants and tearing them down. Flint was GM's home before they moved to the Motor City. Just a little history for those who didn't know. UAW/GM proud!!

  • ...to bad they're shitty

  • @evoracer2 They are not you damn fool. They are the best corvette I have ever had.

  • I love the C6 corvette, but I personally would have designed the front of it to have more design cue's from the C2 C3 C4 and C5. I guess the front of it looks more like the C1.

  • first one ever made was a euro spec? wtf is GM comming to, thats just unamerican!

  • Some of them dont have the ZR1 badge on driver side rear. Somebody forgot to put it on, lol.

  • lol your stupid kid... youve simply convinced youreself that these are the first ZR1s Leno bought the first one from Barret Jackson Auctions for 1million dollars. And yes its the first production ZR1.

  • @DaBluedude100 what zr1 are you talking about?the zr1 pre-dates the mid/late 90s version(dual overhead cam) i think?no im not thinking zl1.wasnt there a 60s zr1?

  • @308scoutrfl I can't be called a corvette officinado but to my knowledge the first zr1 was in 1991 where it enjoyed a short run at the end of the c4 life cycle. And Im pretty sure it was a ls series engine like most vettes. To my knowledge every gm v8 that is a dohc engine is coded as a northstar. The cadilac range pre cts was populated by the bulk of these engines. They were much less reliable than their pushrod brothers.

  • @DaBluedude100 the first zr1 of the early nineties were using a dohc 5.7 block with a lotus/mariner engine. It was a 5.7 just like the normal corvette but it was fitted with dohc heads and reverse flow cooling. It only shared the 4.4 inch spacing and the displacement with the other GM LT engines. The ls wasnt invented until 1997, and the northstar not before the second half of 1992. The lotus 5.7 were not considered an unreliable engine, and it was dubbed the lt5

  • Comment removed

  • @guitardc59 yes I know, I put the lotus/mariner designation just for the sake of simplification

  • @Veikra You're partly right here on the ZR1 - Lotus designed the original ZR1's LT5 5.7 DOHC V8, and GM contracted Mercury Marine to build it in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

  • @DaBluedude100 GM took what they learned from that engine to develop the northstars, and god know they didnt get it right. Instead of figuring out where they screwed up they discontinued them.

  • @308scoutrfl My comment is directed at the creator of the video. He claims that these are the first c6 zr1s. And he is wrong. The first production

zr1 was bought by jay leno for 1 million bux at Barrett Jackson 2008.

  • @308scoutrfl The original ZR1 package came on a 1970 model Corvette

  • how PISSED would you be if someone parked a liiiitle too close and hits it with the doof :O lol

  • zr1s are the fuckin sexiest thing ever, not to mention the performance..

  • wer they looking for jobs at wendys cuz they are hiring??j/k those bad boys are the SHIT !!!!!

  • Nice to see cars that mommy and daddy bought. How old was that damn kid anyway like 17?

  • dude no one bought these cars im sure they were "these cars were seen at the Wendys across the road from the Corvette Plant before they left for Michigan" as said in discription the kid was probably lucky enough to sit in the driver seat thats it... people like you are just jelouus you cant go sit in the front seat of a 100K car not saying i have but i dont hate on the kid who sits in one

  • Being a Ford lover and not a Chevy lover I could care less to be honest.

  • they have to eat at wendy's now that they've all spent a hundred grand on their cars hahah

  • lol but still i would gladly eat at wendy's if i had one of those

  • i would freak out if i saw this many zr1's in a wendys lot

  • i can honestly say that i would kill a man for one of these..

  • this cant be true because jay leno got the very first one ever built

  • his car was built after these, even though his may have vin #1 that doesnt mean there weren't pre-production production test models built (if that makes sense)

  • no, some dudeo n barret jackson bought one for 1million, and the vin number was 0001

  • I will do anything but sexual things to get that car!!!! O_O

  • MAN! sexy group of cars! I want one sooooo bad!!

  • Hey you know....this video just made me feel better. My girlfriend just broke up with me and then i watched this and i feel some sort better =] Thank you Chevrolet for making such a sexy ass mother fucking car!!!!

  • fuck you're ex, there plenty more fish in the sea! stay single (and straight) haha

  • Well....I guess thanks for the wisdom. But were back together now lol.

  • atleast you stayed straight! haha, congratz and have fun together

  • Haha. Always stay straight! Lol. Thanks.

  • pretty cool dude, i used to live in BG, my cousin literally lives 4 miles away from the plant, hopefully in the future ill have a vette, we'll see, congrats on seeing the ZR1!

  • the plant tour is completely worth it just be sure to ask if you can birth a car :D

  • yea, or school took us there on fieldtrips when i was like in 2nd grade, its a blast

  • Lol, what do you mean birth a car?

  • its where you get to start it on the assembly line before anyone else, but i got to dyno too :) the plant manager is the only other person who got to to that lol

  • Yup, I was one of those lucky few once too...Except I got to do it on their 50th anniversary...I got the certificate and the second build sheet to prove it...Congrats kid...I had to fight an old fart to get my chance...haha

  • haha i had to fight my mom lol

  • u should have keyed both of them....

    nah nah jk

  • 2:17- that kid is lucky!!!

  • haha that kid is me :p it was an awesome day, jsut prior to that i got to be one of the very very few to dyno a corvette(a victory yellow z06) at the factory after "giving birth" to it, awesome day :)

  • haha. one has camo tape... oh wow we cant see the supercharger hole in the hood. idk. i dont think anyone will notice the zr1 wheels or the ground f/x. ahhh ... naw... its jus an old z06. you really fooled us gm. **clap**clap**clap**

  • lol i dont think they cared about covering it up anymore they really wanted to test the cars ability so they unveiled it

  • what is song??

  • first one is all the smalle things second one is kryptonite by 2 doors down

  • lol its 3 doors down not 2 doors down

  • good job fat man in kentucky

  • i think the zr1's should be numbered on the front bumper like roush and saleen mustangs.

  • i didn't know that the mustangs had those marking on them, the center counsle one on a saleen i saw was quite nice though :D

  • Where's your proof is to that these are the first 8 ZR1's? So far all you've done is said "Yep, they're the first 8" and provided no evidence what-so-ever. And really it seems to me that these are press cars, especially with the equipment and shit fitted to them.

  • geez i didnt post this video to be contradicted i posted it because it was before any big zr-1 debuts. I personally talked to the 15 drivers and passengers of the vettes, they were the engineering team who built the car from ground up. As you can see by some of them they are just z06s with slight body mods but the big motor underneath. The cars also have sitckers on the windows in numerical order, other than that u can see the date on the video is March of 08 which is pre zr1 production.

  • Do you have any proof besides word of mouth? And technically if they were just modified Z06s, that isn't the production ZR1. Jay Leno's 00001 ZR1 is the first to come off the actual production line, certainly not the first to be built though. You seem to be misunderstanding what people are actually talking about.

  • ewll technically they are "production", because they were built at the corvette plant. If you look at the blue or 3 of the 4 yellow ones or 1 of the red ones they are exactly what the "production" ones are.

This was also the first drive the cars went on, they headed up to michigan on that very day. What more proof could there be i mean your look at pics of the same 8 cars i saw, the blue corvette is the one freatured in the car and track articles.

  • It's not production unless they're made on the actual production one, hence why 00001 is the first PRODUCTION ZR1. Just because they're built at the Corvette plant doesn't mean they're production cars, that would mean every single concept car they make is a production Corvette. And whether or not the blue one is in the one in the car and driver articles, all of those cars probably are pre-production press cars.

  • they are production what dont you get abotu that, to be a production car it doesnt have to havea vin, plus numerical order on vins can restart every year so lenos zr1 could be the first 09 while these are the first 08 and first zr1s, a prototype usually isnt drivable, and a concept rarely is, but i don't feel like aruging it anymore, i know what im talkign about and these are the first 8 chevrolet corvette zr1s

  • They aren't production cars, but you are too stupid to understand that. Yes to be a production car it does have to have a VIN. To be a production car it needs to be built on the official assembly line. No, they do not restart every year, you are a complete dumbass. And no, that next sentence you have no idea what you're talking about. No, you still don't have any idea what you are talking about. Those are not production ZR1s, stop being so damn stupid or provide some actual proof.

  • i have gien you proff look at the pictures and the date the video was uploaded, you obviously dont get it, these cars were biult on the assebly line at the corvette plant, but had altrecations done to be zr1s, also google search the zr1s and you will see that these are the first 8

  • o ya on the vin numbers restarting, saab sonett iiis each year the numbers started back at 977*5000001 (*designating the year)

  • Provide proof smartass.

And also, the people who down rate my comments are cool. You know I'm right, quit being so fucking stupid. I bet it was just you and your ten other accounts. Good lord, ego much?

  • Then it's not a ZR1 you complete idiot, it's a MODIFIED CORVETTE. Good lord you're fucking stupid.

  • haha your just making yourself look more and more ignorant of the obvious facts, and i only have one account so its not me putting them down

  • Well anyone with a brain or any knowledge of the ZR1 knows I'm right, so either it's you or just some of the many idiots on YouTube. I don't know. And no, I'm not ignorant to the obvious facts, but you've proven to us that YOU are.

  • only one of those ZR1's has aftermarket graphics, but Im pretty sure I go to WKU, live in BG, and drive by this same place everytime I get on I65, so they're at least that legit. and on a side note I visited the corvette museum just a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty sure at least the original first five are in the museum right now, but not 100% on that.

  • The point I'm trying to get is they're not real ZR1's, simply Z06's with ZR1 engines and some of the aerodynamic appendages that the ZR1 has, along with the badges as well.

  • lol... if I'm not mistaken, isn't that the only difference between a Z06 and ZR1? I mean I would think these are legit based on the attention to detail throughout the car. I mean even the odometer has the ZR1 insignia on it. those plates are such a pain that no one really messes with touching the back plate. and the doors have the ZR1 trademarked indention for the air extractors. Idk I'd say if they aren't I'd like to have one... there isn't a difference

  • *facepalm*

No, those are not nearly the only differences. The only thing that are similar about the cars are

    1)The interior

    2)The exterior

The chassis/suspension on the ZR1 are COMPLETELY different. The ZR1 and Z06 may share the same exterior and interior, but the breaks, suspension, chassis, shocks, engine, axles, gearbox, EVERYTHING underneath is different.

  • lol okay... and you can tell these cars don't have those by looking at these pictures how? Do you realize how dumb you sound? sorry I try not to be this blunt to people. now further more the ONLY difference in brakes (yes that's how it's spelled) are the size and composition of the rotors. both have 6 piston brembo's up front and 4 pistons in the back. suspension and chassis are the same with slight altercations to accommodate the massive tires of the ZR1. Engine is a no brainer.

  • axles are shorter to fit the tires under the body (composition same), & the gearbox is the same close ratio 6 speed. however the ZR1 does have a beefed up, high capacity twin clutch to handle the extra 115 hp. The only other thing I left out is it has adjustable shocks to improve ride quality in various road conditions. now you openly admitted these cars have the body altercations & engine. If you have eyes you can see the brakes are coated w/ ZR1 exclusive blue & the rims are definitely ZR1.

  • Good lord you're a dumbass. The gearbox in the Z06 is a Tremec T56 or something, the ZR1 has a Tremec TR6060. No, the ZR1 doesn't have a double clutch gearbox, that's impossible with a manual shifter and clutch pedal, there would have to be two clutch pedals. And once again, look at the fucking diagrams you mindless idiot. You're talking out of your fucking ass.

  • you got me on the gear box. it is a different model made to handle the extra power, but the ratios are the same. and there is a twin disk clutch. they're 260mm in spec. I talked to one of the plant engineers today. he owns a yellow one. the chassis is of the same design just reconfigured to handle the 12/11in wide tires. and you're a fucking idiot if you think you need two clutch pedals for a twin disk design? you don't know shit about these cars... maybe you need to visit BG and learn something

  • The chassis is NOT of the same design. And no, you never said twin disk, you said TWIN CLUTCH, fucking dumbass. And who is this plant engineer you talked to, you have no proof of any of this do you? It's clearly you who doesn't know shit, you might as well stop commenting save yourself the humiliation.

  • lol all you can do is discredit... I can do the same shit. why don't you save yourself the embarrassment and come up with new material. better yet go and amuse yourself with more McClaren videos

  • Yeah, because you are pulling all of this shit out of your ass. I don't do that, because lying on the internet is retarded, something you haven't discovered yet.

  • you talk about me getting off my ass? you must not of read all my comments where I said something about you needing to take a vacation to BG? maybe you'll learn something. Im not going to say I know everything. and its hard to remember verbatim what Ive read and heard from sources, but I know a fake who thinks he REALLY knows everything when he doesn't. you sir are one of those folks. what a waste of a brain

  • You're fucking stupid, and you show it because you misinterpret what I say completely wrong. Once again, I'm not even going to bother arguing with an idiot of your magnitude.

  • lol if I told you you wouldn't know him anyways. however if you're in BG you'll know he's the only resident down here at the current moment who is driving a yellow ZR1. its his daily driver as a matter of fact. he's even had it at the Virginia international raceway. its like a 3 mile road course. he said he got his ZR1 up to 176mph on one of their straightaways after coming out of a hairpin turn and diving into another... something you wish you had the money to do... quit dreamin get a life man.

  • The only person in fucking BG driving a ZR1? LMFAO! And no, I won't go down to BG just to tr and discover the thing you pulled out of your ass wasn't actually pulled out of your ass. unlike you, I have a life and a job, and have to work. And no, I don't dream, except for the McLaren F1. I myself own a C6 convertible, and have test driven a ZR1.

  • a yellow one son. and I work too. I have 2 jobs and go to school full time. I'm a mechanical engineer and I'll be the guy putting all the ideas together to make that thing you dream of. I own a WS6 trans am (on my second one) because I prefer muscle not a sports car. I was borderline going to buy a C6 due to the fact that the designs of the C6 body actually have the same basic contour of my f-body.

  • Mindless babble and flaunting your e-penis. I bet you're not doing any of that. I do believe the trans-am thing because I think I saw it in your videos.

  • lol I don't have videos on here. but there you go again with your infinite knowledge. yes there is a red maple metallic trans am on my prof pic. due to a cummings turbo diesel dodge that leaked antifreeze on test and tune night at beech bend about 3 months ago I no longer own that one. hit a spot shifting from 2-3 and ended up finishing backwards at 100mph after which I hit the wall and bent a subframe rail. now I own a Bright red 02 WS6.

  • lol you don't want to drive to bowling green cause you know it would really burn you when you found out I was right.

  • Do you ever fucking read the previous comments? Because the dumbass author of this video said so. That's how I know. And really, that's about as far as you can get in brake differences. Good lord you're fucking stupid. And no, the suspension and chassis are completely different. Go look at some diagrams or cutaways of the ZR1 and Z06 and look how stupid you are. And no, the engine is also very different, but they are both LS series.

  • as far as the author is concerned... no I didn't read through the 370 comments, but point me in the right direction and I'll be sure to give his comments a look too. so now instead of running your mouth about some preschool diagram drawing you did of one of these cars, get your ass down here and look at the real fucking thing. talk to some of the guys that build and design these things.

  • It's within the last 3 pages you fucking lazy son of a bitch. Good lord, get off your ass and go do something. You just have to move the mouse to page 3, and click it. It's not that hard. And no, I get these diagrams from Chevy's website and several reviewers. Maybe you should take the effort to find them so you quit sounding so fucking stupid.

  • so you call the author a liar then use his words to back your shit up? thats a reliable source. sounds like someone needs to read some more made up magazine before he goes to sleep. If you know anything each article will tell you that both cars chassis are made of aluminum and have magnesium engine craddles blah, blah, blah. I can keep regurgitating the same shit that Ive read too... but Ive actually seen the shit.

  • Well the dude fucking met real Corvette engineers unlike you. So yes, I will take his word you slobbering idiot. And do you honestly believe that because they're both made of aluminum they're exactly the same? You're fucking stupid! I'm not even going to fucking bother.

  • and I call bull shit on test driving a ZR1. you have no proof. I don't think anyone with a brain would let you drive one after you opened your mouth

  • I showed up in a C6 convertible, told them I was really thinking about buying one, they did a credit check, and I test drove one. It's really not that hard, you can do it yourself on your free time. But I bet free time is hard to come by because you're a mechanical engineer. rofl

  • no not entirely... they are cast differently and have a few different tabs/moldings to accommodate the few small differences such as the motor mount in the ZR1 sits a little lower to provide better weight distribution in the two (i told you I'm a Mechanical Engineer, Ive seen these things put together). but they're put together the same way because they're practically the same. the ZR1 has SMALL refinements

  • And once again, you have no proof of ANY of this because it is ALL bullshit.

  • And no, at first the author was lying because he got the information he heard from them wrong. It was just a misunderstanding tbh, dumbass.

  • haha sounds like someone has your tongue... or maybe your typing fingers, or maybe you finally realize how big a dumb ass you are. I bet you really live in a trailer and drive an old beat up ford ranger... wishing you could share the road with one of these magnificent creations

  • Check the PM.

  • lol is that what you want me to believe is yours?

  • What's there not to believe? Good fucking lord you're stupid.

  • Bullshit. Not first ZR1's.

  • these are the first 8 zr1's hand down, the yellow one with the funky hood tape is believed to have been the American Le Mans Series Laguna Seca corvette

  • Grow up, either produce the facts why you don't believe these are not the frist 8 vettes, or log off. We lived in Bowling Green where they made the Vettes and these were first ones. He personally talked with the engineers who were on their way to Detroit in the cars. The factory is right behind the fast food joint where he took the pictures.

  • i believe that its real, i mean why would 8 zr1's with the #'s 1-8 on the front and backglass of the cars be rollin in the parking lot at a wendy's...

  • The Wendy's is right in front of the Corvette factory in Bowling Green, KY. I guess the engineering team decided to get breakfast before driving together up to Detroit.

  • but they're not the first ZR1's, lol! Damn u false adverstising

  • lol ur not the first guy to say this but these 8 cars and the 15 men driving them are the real deal first 8 ZR1s, the driver: 15 of the engineers building the car, the gray zr1 mmight havea vin 0000001 but its not # uno the red prduction with a funky looking front bumper is, and the first one with zr1 looks is one of the yellow ones

  • well i was htinking about uploading the hd versio nwith new music what you guys think?

  • OK so you went out as a random and started taking pictures and shit and they're all a bunch of kids in the pics. BS, we're talking about the ZR-1 !!! The fastest car ever made in the US. Sickest car ever made in this continenet.

  • badass car gay ass music

  • #000001 was the the only le mans blue car in the world. dave ressler owns the FIRST 09 zr1 and the oldest corvette in the world. 53 vette production number 003. he spent 1 mil on the zr1 and one mil on the 53 vette.

  • the Le Mans blue is not the first one technichally the red vette sitting in the vette only spot next to the white cadillac is the true first 09 corvette ZR1, i had asked the 15 engineers themselves about which was the first one and they said that it was the first one, now it was not sold but i believe scrapped because it was a test vehicle

  • Jay Leno had the first zr1 corvette.. No #00001..THEN he sold it at the Barret Jackson Auction to someone for 1 mill...THE money went to charity...

  • The first production spec ZR1 belongs to Jay Leno. He has serial No #00001.

  • he sold dat for 1 mill

  • No he didn't. He just put up a video of it a week ago on his website. We wouldn't sell such a spectacular car.

  • WTF is dat death type in english please not retard.

build quality? maybe back in the 80s the cars are built great, but some people like to beat up the interior grow up my ferrari has plastic in the interior too.

  • The plastic in a Ferrari interior is used to save weight not to save money like chevrolet. This thing has outstanding performance but nothing more...

  • That is such Bullshit.

Ferrari used plastic to be cheap to dont sugar coat it.

  • Yeah, I'm sure they don't care about weight when they made the roof carbon fiber. Both manufactures used plastic to cheap out of better materials, chevy does use it for weight.

  • Vettes are for hicks. Sorry but its true. Cheap build quality, great power- in a straight line.

  • The C6 actually outdoes nearly every car on the skid pad reaching over to 1.02 g's, which outhandles and holds better than any Japanese or German production car ever made including the rail-like steering of the Evos from Mitsubishi.

  • Thats funny cuz the ZR1 laps the nurburgring faster than the GTR... and its the 2nd fast production car out there... Hmm you sir are fucking dumb

  • i sat in a zr1 yesterday i really dont like how u cant see shit out of the back i realize its a beast but no wonder why everyone crashes them u cant see a thing!!

  • If you cant see out of the ZR1 try sitting in a Ferrari Testarossa the rear window itself might be 4 inches tall.

  • I can say I had the pride of riding in a Testarossa, and there is practically zero rear visibility. That thing was like a tank, but a small turning radius and sick torque.

  • The first production ZR1 is red. There were a few more ZR1s. The blue one that GM shows off and Motor Trend's grey one.

  • wow that car is so slow whats it runs like 17's i bet a honda could beat those things

  • no it runs way lower dude i may be a mopar guy but this car is beastly a stock z06 can run an 11.4, so a zr1 could destroy that time

  • i was kidding dude

  • im so sick of my fellow americans only talking about straight line speed. i honestly couldnt care if a car only had 40 horse power, if it handles well, it could out-run a mustang on a track.

this car handles awesomely... and it runs a quarter well too. its awesome in all areas, and thats why im only 15, and have literally started a zr1 fund so i can one day have one.

  • your a fucking idiot

  • how am i an idiot for believing that a steering wheel is a useful invention?

  • did i ever fucking say driving in a straight line is the only way to drive dumb ass... no... so get your drivers lisence mr. i have a fucking fund go fuck yourself

  • grrrreat song selection haha

  • 100K car 5$ lunch?

  • its an american thing :D

  • lol i just loved that comment, so true

  • yeap thats the zr1 alright,i saw one at the Scottsdale Pavillions car show last weekend, its badass.

  • Rock and roll McDonalds!!

  • isn't the corvette plant in kentucky?

  • i think so

  • the first one was auctioned for 1 million dollars on barrett jackson and it was lemans blue it had the vin#001

  • how many will be produced?

  • I'd rather get the GT-R V-Spec

  • Why the hell would you wanna do that? The ZR1 set the world ecord lap time at the german Nouburgring

  • But the GT-R Vspec already spanks it unofficially in preproduction form and it's still being furthered tuned to be faster...atleast in the 'Ring. I'll take a ZR-1 over any american car though but I'd take a GT-R over any car =P

  • not really. the 'ring was 'rigged lol.

ZR1-stock tires standing stop start with a wet track.

GT-R-race tires running start over 75 mph with a dry track.

run em in even situations then talk to me

  • they werent running race tires. That rumor has been dispelled already w/ photos of it using the stock Dunlop tires

  • The only thing that is getting spanked here is your own meat when you are beating off while dreaming that you could ever own any of those cars.

  • you know what im viewer 105,013 :P same as the base price for the ZR1 plus tip :P lol

  • hehe. im viewer number 105,000. same as the base price of the ZR1!

  • how much are these selling for?

  • 117 k fully loaded 105k standard

  • the blue one is here in miami

  • could you have picked any lamer music for such a bad ass car?

  • yah i agree..you got a nice car but the music is just crap. i didnt even watch the whole thing. I like those songs but you need to put the right music that will make your car seem better. those two songs just werent it

  • omfg your so lucky i would love to see those

  • Whats different about the euro spec?

  • it has half amber tail lights, these little bumps in front of the headlight with maybe headlight washers, the side turn signals are also amber

  • I don't know why chevy decided to paint the calipers FORD blue though ... They should've painted them to match the body in my opinion. Dont get wrong though I'd give my left nut for one of these cars. I have a 03 cobra svt but a ZR-1 is just ridiculous!

  • I never liked Corvettes like hte C4 (around the year 1995) and the style and drift capabilities and the feel of the drive never suited me...especially for the cost.

but the 2008 Z06's surely outdid themselves and wow...talk about a machine so I am anticipating this new ZR-1 to be a handfull and a machine definately worth the money.

  • maybe it's just me but why doesn't some of the vettes have the ZR1 badge on the side? they're obviously ZR1s but they're missing the badge.

  • they were anti spy vehicles, to make them fit in with the modified Z06s and C6 Coupes

  • I've decided where i am going to work.

  • Sweet!

    Tom " Kong " Reilly

  • give me a 2009 pagani zonda f anyday, this band sounds so california.the zr1 is an awesome car, to id love to drive either one.

  • car sounds great in person
