I used to work for a lingerie catalog as a copywriter, and for women's underwear, the most important features are (and I'm serious): breathability, moisture wicking (ability to keep moisture under control) and the fabrication (cotton etc.) so when she said "breathable" that's probably because, as a woman, that's an important factor.
