If knowledge is to know, then one can have knowledge of self realization. If not then wisdom cannot be taught because no self knows the nature of knowledge.
He suggests that one must wish for enlightenment but there are many cases over history to the contrary. Even the great saint Ramana Maharshi had a spontaneous experience of enlightenment as a 17 year old. There are those who had such experiences after which they went and sought out spiritual texts and teachers in order to find out what had happened to them.
Perhaps this will not happen to all, maybe very few, but it does happen and we should all be open to it. It is not a super human thing.
I wouldnt so much say we should be AFRAID of sin, because you actually become more knowledgeable of what fear itself is, it is a disabler, a seperator, you will not want to hurt animals or humans because you know the laws of karma, and because your heart becomes full of peace and love, and you simply do not want to hurt anything or anyone. We are all one, we are each other, you are me and I am you, so stop hurting yourself and love yourself.
So essentially its a question of if you make it the most important thing in your life or not. I don't understand how some people make no effort to know the truth.

Like gravity pulles you down so does the energy it can flow up or down if it pulles you down you might feel tired and think that 1 is better
